Query on 16GB version. - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello All,
I am planning to switch from Galaxy S4 to LG G2. I was thinking of getting the 16 GB version of the phone. But I wanted to know that is it enough? Since there is no expansion possible. When i got the S4 16 GB version, the OS and other stuff alone take up 8 GB of the space. Luckily in S4 i can go for an SD card. Just wanted to know that is the same case with G2.

OS takes up about 6-8 gigs, but as the person above me said it has OTG support (check this out: meenova.com) and box.com gives you 50 gb of free storage when you sign in with a LG device.

i wouldnt go with the 16gb version. i have the 32gb version and only have 10gb remaining. i may keep more stuff on my phone than you though. i'm an audiophile so i like my flac files. these take up a lot of room.

I am thinking about it now... i wonder why the new phones are trying to leave the memory card slot out of phones. Nexus 5, HTC One both dont have it as well.

If you can, go for the Korean version of the phone. It has removable battery and SD card support although the battery is slightly smaller.

NEXUS 4 user available memory?

Can anyone clear up for me how much storage is actually available in the 8gb and 16gb models? I'm sure android reserves a chunk, but how big is it?

5GB on the 8GB Model, 13GB on the 16GB Model. But with Custom Roms, this can probably be increased.

Around 5.4 GBs on the 8GB Model, 13.5 GBs on the 16 GB Model. I mean, the 8GB version must be enough for most people, But I have over 10Gbs of music that I listen to frequently, I will probably have to get the 16GB model as I don't trust cloud storage at all.

use Google Music to store your music and just stream it. also you have the option to download the songs you want from your playlist.
Not bad at all. It's top of my list this phone, looks like it matches the Xperia P here. I'll be okay,I have 4gb right now,and I was thinking, 13GB is massive, when thinking about the XP .

I'm praying for 6.5 or 6 after ROM w/ a Custom Rom with the 8GB.
Yeah it'll probably get bigger with a lean ROM. Won't be rooting mine though. It's about time I played dumb like an iPhone User. Won't even theme it. Default wallpaper, the whole nine yards.

32gb and 64gb version

I'm due for an upgrade and wondering if the 32gb and 64gb version will ever be out? My s2 is crapping and overheating on me. I'm itching to just get the 16gb version. What should i do? wait or not?

Do you want the 16, 32, or 64gb version? Lol. I think you should ask yourself that question and go with your answer. There are cheap SD Cards out there too. Are you really going to fill up two 64gb cards? Or even a 32 and 64? Etc?

Can't we move apps to SD card on here? If not then I'm kind of kicking myself now. Lol. But at the same time, if you plan on rooting and working with a custom ROM you can pick and choose what apps you need while reserving space for extras that you want or too need. But patience also brings about great things. Who knows, maybe you'll end up grabbing the Note 3 or the Google edition S4 if it comes to Sprint or is able to be brought to Sprint. I was only in a hurry to upgrade because I was getting sick of my EVO and HTC all together. Kind of comes down to patience now. In your boat it sounds like 32gb might be the way to go if we ever see it on Sprint. 64 seems like overkill unless same price.

Not yet..... I waited many days for 32 gb variant, but nothing.
Then..... 1 month ago I have 16 gb variant, using "folder mount" app. I use a 32 gb sdcard and all my games and big data apps (I have about 16 gb) is stored in sdcard, and my S4 storage has 6.60gb free !!! :fingers-crossed: the 32gb or 64 gb variants not needed after all......just saying.

Thanks but I've found in the past some E-Bay sellers list products not actually yet shipping to get their order books full.
Has anyone physically seen an internal 32gb unit?
Go for the one posted in the link. That is where i also bought my phone from and yes he post straight away and it is genuine 32gb internal memory. Very happy with it.
I bought the 16Gb one, i don't need more than that because i dont install much apps and i use a 64GB microsd for my music and media, i had a 32GB S3 but only because i didnt want to experience the sudden death of the 16GB models
I'll ask the question yet again and hopefully people won't push to a link for ebay auctions this time.
Has ANYONE actually seen a S4, in the flesh, with more than 16gb of internal memory. Your brothers second cousins seeing one doesn't count, your link to a seller supposely selling one doesn't count, seeing one at a show doesn't count....touching one with your own hands does count!

Nope.
So there does not appear to be 32GB or 64GB variants of either the S4 or the S4 active actually shipping......
I wonder when/if Sammie will pull their finger out and start? With S4 sales supposedly below target it's the natural thing to do to boost demand although only after the channel has sold through the bulk of its stock.

Yes, I also done this, and moved over 5 gb of game datas, my internal memory is 7.1GB, I don't think I need a 32 gb model.

Carrier/storage question

I'm still holding out for the 32gb version of the Galaxy S4 on Sprint.
Any word?
Also is there a way to get the 32gb version on Verizon and use it on Sprint?
Thanks

no clue about your question. But why not just get a big SD card?
A 64GB card is a lot cheaper than the price difference between a 16GB to 32GB phone
I want the bigger memory on the phone PLUS the 64 gb sd card

Well get a different phone then. The S4 only comes in 16gb on Sprint.
This message brought to you in part by Sprint and the letters GS and the number 4

[Q] 16 GB enough?

Hello!
I'm new here, so yeah will be getting a G2 soon!
I live in The Netherlands, and apparently the 32 GB version will become available after the release of the 16 GB model.
So I'm considering going for the 16 GB model, but I don't know if that's enough. How much storage does the ROM take? How many storage is there actually left for the user?
I will only put some music on it, quite some apps and a lot of tweaks.
Should I wait for the 32 GB model or do you think the 16 GB one is fine?
Thanks for your suggestions!

Depends on what you store locally. Personally, most of my data is in the cloud (Dropbox, Box, Play Music, etc.), so I don't require much local storage. On my 16GB GS3, all I had on my external were ROMS, GAPPS, etc., and I never ran out of the local storage on the phone. But I live in an area with great coverage, so I do not need to rely on local storage.

My experience with the Galaxy S4 says: NO! 10 gb will go very fast once you install apps and take a few pictures and videos. And the fuller the phone gets, the worse it will run. I would say that 32 gb is the bare minimum for a phone today.
