I have the option of ONLY getting a Verizon LG G2 and a Sprint LG G2. However, I will be using whatever phone I get on T-Mobile in the US. The bands supported for both phones are below. Which one should I get for the best compatibility with the T-Mobile network?
Sprint - LS980 [17]
GSM 850/1900
CDMA 800/850/1900
UMTS 850/1900
LTE 1900(25)/800(26)/2500(41)
Verizon - VS980 [16]
GSM 850/900/1800/1900
CDMA 850/1900
UMTS 850/900/1900/2100
LTE 1700(4)/700(13)
Get the Verizon version. Their phones have the GSM portion unlocked out of the box. You'll only get 3G on T-Mobile where they have refarmed on 1900.
There is no such thing as an "unlocked" Sprint LG G2. Infact Sprint locks out the GSM portion of their phones to domestic GSM networks. Don't even bother.

I am living within US using Tmobile on my LG Optimus 7 e900. My understanding is tmobile only uses Band IV (1700/2100) within the US - but this phone does not have the 1700 frequiency option.
Do you know if the frequency is availble in the hardward (just not displayed)?
Do you know if there is a way to flash the ROM or enable within the registry?
Not sure I can live with roaming EDGE speed - any help is much appreciated.
It's not an unlock band issue -- this phone simply does not support the T-Mobile 3G bands.
Best bet? Wait until T-Mo and AT&T merge... 'cause this phone *CAN* use the 3G bands on AT&T
Both the LG Optimus 7 E900 and E900h support quad 3G bands 850, 900, 1900, 2100. The modem on-board, as well as the antenna configuration simply does not support the AWS 1700 band that T-Mobile uses. So, unfortunately, until the merger goes through, you will be stuck with 2G/EDGE...
I spend 50% of my time in the US and 50% of my time in Canada and have a contract with both AT&T and with Rogers.
I am going to buy the S4 soon. Should I get the SGH-I337 variant with AT&T or the SGH-I337m variant with Rogers?
In about 14 months, I will be back in Canada (on Rogers) permanently. So far, I am leaning towards the AT&T variant due to greater rom availability, but I am worried about whether the S4 will work on Rogers 3G bands and LTE network.
The reason I am worried is that I am currently using an unlocked Sprint BB Tour 9630 Quadband on Rogers with specs:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 2100
CDMA/EVDO Rev A 800/1900
And the Roger's EDGE network barely functions on that phone (many disconnects).
I am a little unfamiliar with network bands, but can you let me know if the phone's 3G radio and LTE radio are identical across Rogers and AT&T?
I read somewhere that Rogers S4 uses 2600 MHz LTE Band and AT&T uses 700 MHz LTE. Is this true? Or does this phone have both LTE bands built in?
Thank you!
Just bought an AT&T Lg G2 and unlocked it for Tmobile/Metropcs use and after setting APN settings I still have no connection at all. Im unable to send a single text, get online or anything. Im sure im doing something simple wrong. Tmobile has 4G in my area so i should get great speeds. Anyone got any ideas?
I've entered APN for both 4G and non 4G
Did you reboot? Probably did but it already, right?
yup I've rebooted multiple times. Went into Networks searched networks it found AT&T Tmobile and MetroPCS and a few others. i've tried AT&T tmobile and Tmobile LTE and Metro PCs...all with no luck

I'm afraid that the AT&T D800 does not support AWS/UMTS Bands, which are T-Mobile's main frequencies. I've just pulled this list from Wikipedia:
AT&T - D800
GSM 850/900/1800/1900
UMTS 850/1900/2100
LTE 1900(2)/1700(4)/850(5)/700(17)
T-Mobile - D801
GSM 850/900/1800/1900
UMTS 850/1700/1900/2100
LTE 1900(2)/1700(4)/700(17)
Namely, you are missing UMTS band 1700 which manages about 50% of T-Mobile customers' HSPA+ connection. That being said, the fact that you cannot connect to T-Mobile's LTE band 1700 is weird. Also, UMTS band 1900 should also work.
Perhaps you're in an area with ONLY UMTS 1700 which would not work with the AT&T LG G2. Do you know if there's LTE coverage in your area?

Yes I am in DFW area which is one of the largest LTE areas Tmobile has. I'm unable to get a connection at all. It says phone is for "emergencies only" I cant make calls, text, or use web.
Sounds like the phone is not SIM unlocked. Need to verify it is SIM unlocked. Also where did you buy it. If the phone was bought from a person it could have been reported stolen or lost and blocked from T-Mobile.

I bought it off Swappa. Ill try the unlock code again but it said it was unlocked. it doesnt come up with any error when i put the new sim card in anymore.
You're likely in an area that does not have HSPA 1900 coverage; and since you're AT&T variant doesn't support the band, is showing no service. Locking onto LTE wouldn't help as HSPA is required for voice access.
I created a thread in the Q&A asking for ways to enable the missing AWS band on our AT&T / Canadian variant handsets. It was doable on Samsung and am hoping it can be done on our handsets.
turns out MetroPCS had to activate it. you cant just stick a sim into a new phone. they have to activate it on your account. $15 later (yeah i know...its BS) but the Lg G2 is up and running and getting 4G speeds
I have one friend that will trip to USA (are a lot cheaper)
What is the most indicated Lg G2 for the international use ( Spain Europe)
I heard that also is one version on lg g2 witb sd card and removals battery
Thx
My Lg Og
The most important question would be, which band does your carreier use for 3g/4g? You wouldn't want to get a phone and then find out you can only use it in Edge because it doesn't support the right bands.
Here in spain are 3g and lte bands , right now i use ths lg og pro f240k Korean model
... I really want that lg g2 korean model with sd card and removable battery ...

I know you have 3G and LTE bands, but which bands are they? Each carrier has a set of frequencies (bands) that they use. You need to find out which band your carrier uses for 3G and/or LTE (depending on what you're looking for) and then see which version of the G2 is better suited for you.
Here's a breakdown taken from Wikipedia:

Can an unlocked lg g2 that is the at&t model be run on tmobile's network or are the radios in each different?

It works on TMO, AT&T doesn't have WCDMA 1700, TMO version doesn't have LTE 850.
Im actually using it vice versa, AT&T on TMO G2.

If it's missing 1700 will I be missing anything running it on tmobile? Is that a frequency tmobile uses?
Edit:
Never mind, I realized tmobile uses that band for wide band audio calls so you lose hd voice.
I put my ATT D800 on a T-Mobile prepaid Sim a couple days ago. I get better speeds on TMO's LTE than I do on ATT's, in my home. Other location vary. Given i get more than enough speed, I am not concerning myself with 1700
