Any way to unlock/flash 1700 band in LG e900 - Optimus 7 General

I am living within US using Tmobile on my LG Optimus 7 e900. My understanding is tmobile only uses Band IV (1700/2100) within the US - but this phone does not have the 1700 frequiency option.
Do you know if the frequency is availble in the hardward (just not displayed)?
Do you know if there is a way to flash the ROM or enable within the registry?
Not sure I can live with roaming EDGE speed - any help is much appreciated.

It's not an unlock band issue -- this phone simply does not support the T-Mobile 3G bands.
Best bet? Wait until T-Mo and AT&T merge... 'cause this phone *CAN* use the 3G bands on AT&T

Both the LG Optimus 7 E900 and E900h support quad 3G bands 850, 900, 1900, 2100. The modem on-board, as well as the antenna configuration simply does not support the AWS 1700 band that T-Mobile uses. So, unfortunately, until the merger goes through, you will be stuck with 2G/EDGE...

My touch slide on att?

curious to know if any of you guys have your my touch slide on ATT network?
Thanks.
No one has this on AT&T yet?
It just barely released on on T-Mobile. A lot of people aren't willing to pay $430 for a phone if they can't get 3G on it, and the rest are stuck in a T-Mobile contract.
ooh, so they can't get 3g if it's on the ATT network? 430? I've seen tons of them go for 380's, some unlocked as well.
Well, if it doesn't get 3g, I guess it helped me make my mind up to go with the Nexus One.
Thanks
my tmobile - my touch slide unlocked
Got my tmobile - my touch slide unlocked - but it wont get 3G on ATT - is there any way around this issue? is it a matter of the frequencies or what? perhaps someone can explain...
tmobile and at&t are on two different 3g frequencies. A quick google finds this information.
according to info i found on the net:
"In the U.S., T-Mobile and AT&T both use GSM technologies, but there are fundamental incompatibilities in their 3G services. AT&T runs its 2G and 3G services at 850 and 1900 MHz. T-Mobile's 3G service uses 2100 MHz to transmit and 1700 MHz to receive. "
Yet the htc my touch slide supports the following:
Frequency Bands GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900
UMTS: 2100
so should work unless article is incorrect -- can someone post the att and tmobile frequencies?

Just with the G1 and mytouch, these phones are specified to use certain bands for 3G and certain bands for edge/2G. This is a Hardware thing. It can support GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900 UMTS: 2100, (and 1700 I assume should be in there since tmobile uses 1700 for 3G) But the hardware is built to use ONLY 1700-2100 for 3g.

Could you let us know where you got it unlocked and for how much? There are two phone companies in Canada - Mobilicity and WIND Mobile - who have the same 3G frequencies as T-Mo but no Android phones! And we would love to know where to unlock the MT3G Slide. Thanks!

I have seen plenty that are unlocked and for sale on eBay for roughly 380ish
Can anyone confirm that a particular web site's unlock code worked for the MT3G Slide?
why would you unlock it to use it on a inferior network? especially because 3g will not work EVER! the phones frequencies do not support att 3g

I can't speak for the AT&T poster's intentions, but *Canadians* would unlock it to use the phone on WIND Mobile, Mobilicity and soon Vidéotron, which are all AWS carriers. This is why I'm trying to find out where to unlock the phone successfully.
Ebay it man, they're going unlocked there for about the same as new/no contract at tmobile

Well I figure I'd rather personally know where it came from and unlock it myself. =)
I got my mytouch slide unlocked by blowfish. Email him at [email protected] it cost me $10.50 to get my phone unlocked.

I'm using the slide on a regional carrier that uses the same 3g frequencies as t-mobile. Just because the other major US players don't use the same ones doesn't mean no one else does.
I used cellunlock.net, with 50% off coupon (easy to google, there are lots of them), it was only $10, got the code in 2 hours both times.

T-mobile bands

can someone tell which bands the euro(britain) g1 uses and the us version does and is it possible to get 3g in us if i use a euro tmobile g1 or vice versa
and also which bands does us tmobile support
euro 3g is 850 same as at&t
tmo is 1700
tmobile uses 1700 & 2100MHz. one for uplink, one for downlink. my understanding is that most of europe uses the 2100MHz frequency for 3g.

Don't forget Australia and 850mhz

Just thought I would wave a flag here regarding the Australian HD2 phone. Same as the European phone except it also has a 850mhz 3G band (Old CDMA) Network.
Not sure the best place to goto to ensure this is supported to some degree. Plan on trying to get another 6 months out of my HD2 by going android and this is quite significant.
Note. In main cities both 2100 and 850 are supported but outside those cities (Australia has a lot of this) only 850mhz is supported and basically you can't make a call with out this support.
Thanks. Amazing work on the progress to date. Well done.
This post is pointless as both AT&T and Rogers are on the 850mhz band also. Android will pick up all your avalible bands just like WinMo does. I myself, have the Telstra HD2 here in Canada on Rogers and all is working well with all of the test builds of android. The only thing I have to do is manualy input my APN settings so 3G/H (3G+) works.
I am not sure why you think 850mhz is from the days of CDMA... CDMA can use all the bands GSM can (850, 900, 1900, 2100) it is just up to whom ever decides which bands are approiate for your Country/Cell Carier. Over here in Canada, they had already authorized 850/1900 bands so they just continued to use them for GSM.
On a side note, with out propper bands for your network, you will only connect with Edge data only. This is why I chose the HD2 from Telstra and not T-Mobile US or any other Euro version. And like I said before everything works (3G/H & Calls).
which radio rom should i use to install android, or settings i should tweek.

MMMM With all the cooked roms unless I edit the base band in the registry on WinMo it will not pick up the 850 band. Telstra Hd2 On Telstra

Because in Australia, Telstra shut down it's CDMA network and replaced it with the NextG network. The old CDMA network used 850Mhz and to save on costs they kept the 850mhz range for their NextG stuff and used their existing infrastructure.

[Q] Lg Quantum and HSUPA

I have been looking everywhere and cannot find how to enable HSUPA on my LG Quantum. I know that the phone is capable according to the specifications, but it is clearly not enabled when I can get 4Mbps down stream, but only 110Kbps up stream.
Also I have a Vodafone 3g USB and using the same sim card I can get equal up and down stream. So this verifies that it is a phone issue.
Does anybody have any suggestions, or somewhere they can direct me.
Btw, My fone is flashed with Telstra rom and fully updated with WiFi-Tethering , so it would help a lot to have HSUPA enabled.
I have tested my phone with Bell ROM and Telstra ROM on the Bell network and I can get 2+Mbps upload speeds on the device with either ROM.
When tethered via wifi, it can get 3+Mbps. Haven't tried USB tethering.
You are using an ATT Quantum ? perhaps it does not have all the frequencies your vodaphone USB stick has?
Yes, Att Quantum
Yeah my phone was originally AT&T. But it should still have the frequencies I would think. I'll do a little research and find out what frequencies the USB stick has, and what frequencies Vodafone India uses.
booo.
I found that Vodafone India 3g uses the UMTS 1900MHz / 2100MHz band just as all other carriers in India.
In my research for the Lg Quantum C900 I found that the frequency specs are:
GSM:
850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
UMTS:
850, 1900, 2100 MHz
Data:
HSDPA 7.2 Mbit/s, UMTS, EDGE
But as you can see it actually doesn't seem to explicitly state a capability for HSUPA, as I had thought it did.
But you just told me you are able to get HSUPA Uplink speed. What carrier model are you using?
I am using c900b from Bell.

[Q] Which note 3 for these connections

I need a note 3 that can:
connect to AT&T LTE here in the USA
And connect to T-Mobile NL in Holland
And unlocked bootloader

TMO:
This company uses GSM1800 as their main frequency band for communications. In 2010 T-Mobile Netherlands had some problems with 3G capacity, but after investing in the network modernization they have managed to deal with this problem. So now they provide 3G services using 2100MHz band

Am I restricted to the N900-T? or is there another one you know of.
sorry for the noob question i don't know about all the bands.
Thanks!
T-Mo NL uses the 900Mhz for 2G, 2100Mhz band for 3G, and are in the process of updating to the 900Mhz band for both 2G and 3G. (Should be finished by the end of 2016.) LTE runs on the 1800Mhz band. (I can dream these numbers by now...)
You can find the bands per phone version here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2574886
Does the TMo US version even work with AT&T?
Both N900-t and N9005 work in terms of frequency for 2G.
You will probably not be able to use the N900T for 3G once the network upgrade is finished here, as we're going to be using the 900Mhz as the main frequency for 3G. The N900T can't see that one. The 2100Mhz will be serving as a bandwidth increaser, not as the main band.
There's a chance you won't get 4G everywhere on the N9005 when using it in the US, as it can't see the 700/1700/1900/2300Mhz frequency.
And you're going to have to root to get rid of the region lock either way if you want to use both SIMs.
Tmo version 4G will not work with AT&T 4G. I tried with my wife's phone
T-Mobile (US) devices support the same frequencies as AT&T devices. This is coming from experience and from the fact that I've pretty much memorized all the band numbers that carriers use and phones support.
If you want a Note 3 that supports AT&T LTE in the US and HSPA+ in NL, you can either get the AT&T model or the T-Mobile model. The T-Mobile model supports one extra band (1700 MHz HSPA+) that is only used on T-Mobile US (nowhere outside of North America), so it wouldn't make a difference. Just know that it CAN be used on AT&T. The other differences between the two:
1. The T-Mobile version supports Wifi Calling (if used on T-Mobile), AT&T model doesn't.
2. AT&T removes the "Network Mode" menu from the Settings menu (so you can't force EDGE for example).
3. AT&T version has a locked bootloader. T-Mobile version doesn't.
In many instances, although 900 MHz WCDMA/HSPA+ isn't listed, it's supported. I can't confirm it because I'm in the US, and GSM carriers use (total) 850/1700/1900/2100 MHz for WCDMA, not 900 MHz. I think it's just unlisted to discourage people from exporting the US models. The only LTE frequency that North America shares in common with Europe is 2600 MHz, which is supported by the phone. I believe that's only used in urban areas in Europe.
Overall the T-Mobile model is the most open in terms of bootloader and supported frequencies (though either model would work in your case).
