Anyone have a pit file for FIDO (FWC) 16GB SGH-I337M S4? Need to repartition and am not having any luck finding one. would anyone on 4.3 be able to dump a 4.3 pit and post it please?
What did you do that you think you need a pit file?
No matter what i try to flash to my phone it seems to mess up on /system so Im making the assumption my pit is pooched. AKA a bad flash or something gone horribly wrong
PIT IS looking like my last hope in this long sad battle that makes me want to hurl my s4 off the moon
when i luck into getting into recovery it fails to mount system

There's a pit in the development forum, but I don't think it's going to work.

Hi guys, Ive just bought a new Samsung Galaxy S4
I had the s3 and loved it but thought id get the S4, (I'm on the Three network UK If this helps)
Anyway with the s3 i rooted it, Installed CF Root, and siyah kernel and worked a treat
So when i had my S4 today i thought id root it, So i followed this video: youtube.com/watch?v=vlsO5o_-CI8 did everything and everything worked fine, then i thought oh ill put the siyah kernel on from here d-h.st/users/siyah/s3 and was completely in a daze didn't even read where it said s3 or anything (Yes i know im thick as two short blanks but i do apologize in advance) and when i flashed the siyah kernal it got stuck on the booting screen where it says Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 and nothing is budging it, nothing at all.
Anyway so i looked at troubleshooting things and here's what i have tried
*Taking Battery out
* Recovery mode (Power, Home and Volume Up button) clicked factory reset wipe data etc
So im out of options and in desperate need of help as i dont know what else to do so im desperate, i know im a dope for installing something but as i said i was in a daze and just doing it automatically which i know is no excuse but i am sorry.
So can anyone help as i do hope so,
Thanks in advance
Sorry Guys Its the Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 not the i9500, Its the i9505,
Apologies

it should, because you flashed wrong kernel,
if not, you have to flash the whole stock firmware
Nope the kernal didnt work, So gonna have to try the stock firmware,
that would should 100% work is it?

yes.
maybe you have a corrupted partition due to the wrong flash so you need a pit file with the firmware, see my signature for tutorial
Im reading it now you know where it says: Step 4) unzip the downlowded file (from second or third post), u will get a Home.tar file.
Where do i get that file from what second or third post?

first flash the firmware as pda in odin, if odin gives you "no pit file" when flashing, so you must put I9505 pit file in odin as pit with the firmware as pda and flash. (all explanations are mentioned in my thread :good
Ok downloading the stock fw now ok, ill keep ya updated
thank you thank you thank you, ur a legend it works!!!
Hey all
Ever since I updated my S4 to foxhound 1.5, I have had all sorts of issues. When using Odin to flash a recovery, I got an error message about a PIT file being missing. So I downloaded the relevant PIT file and tried flashing it inn ODIN. Now, super user will not update its binaries and is asking me to try in recovery. Theres stuff going on thats just not right. I keep getting this message about a PIT file.
How do I go back to stock firmware without getting the message about a PIT file, so i can start over again.
Help appreciated greatly,
Chris

Alright, so I've been doing rooting things for a long time...and never have I had this many problems. I posted something here earlier about rooting my S4, installing ROMs and having it hang on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Screen. So I figured I would try booting with Odin and re-installing a stock image. No luck. I keep getting this show up on my Galaxy S4 when I click start -- "secure check failed" and Odin shows a fail.
I don't even know where to go from here because I'm looking at an expensive paperweight at this point. Has anyone ever seen this before or even know where I can start. Any help would really be appreciated...at this point I just feel defeated.

I always get firmware from sammobile.com. Download the firmware ending in mdl. It'll be a zip file. Use 7-zip to extract the .tar.md5 file from it and use that in Odin.

I'll download the firmware there and see if that solves my issue. Is there any way this could be related to the kernel? If I restore this firmware I will lose my root, correct?

You will lose root. Odin should put everything back on like it was new. You do have to register on sammobile to download the firmware, but it's free.

None available, but I suggest you use the search function and do some reading because this has been mentioned dozens of times already. The best you can do at this point is take the phone to a BestBuys with a Sumsung Kiosk and see if they will reflash it. You need to search to find out more information about it.

Yea, this is the second time this week my phone has bricked for no reason. At&t warranty center ran the samsung tool on it last time and fixed it.

Sounds like it needs to be replaced (warranty or insurance), but I would try for warranty first. If it bricked for no reason at all, I assume you are not rooted and have nothing custom on the phone? Because if you do, it could prevent a warranty claim. Samsung can and will send you a bill if they find anything has been tampered with. Good luck.
You can check here...
Mind you however, that is ONLY for devices running pre-MF3 bootloaders. If you attempt to flash it as a stock recovery on a MF3 device your end up with a brick. If your on MF3 and have a brick currently, there isn't a way to go back outside of sending the phone back to Samsung or going to Best Buy's Samsung Experience Center.

This is by far your best option, use ODIN and flash these files to return to a stock MF3. Updating to anything higher then MF3 is generally ill-advised. At least for the moment...

Have you tested or seen anyone else report that the current Safestrap works with MJ6 or you can even gain root access with MJ6?
Not being rude, but please don't offer advice if you are unsure of the outcome (this means more than one person has confirmed working or you have tested it yourself). I personally don't think it hurts to make a suggestion but let the person know it hasn't been tested or you are unsure of the outcome.
Had the OP taken your advice before you were corrected, they would have been upgraded to MJ6 with no option for running a custom ROM or getting root access (hopefully this won't be the case for long).

I saw your other post with the Odin print out. It looks to me like it's still a bad download, the md5 is not checking.
Edit, what are you using to extract the md5 files from the zip? Use 7-zip.
