i was running digital dream vs1.1 for the verizon G2. i got ota update notification last night but i was too tired to deal with it. well my gf rolled over to check the time this morning and meant to use knock on and coincedently knocked on the part of the screen that said install now now. now no matter what i do it wont leave twrp. i tried wiping, reinstalling, restoring, nothing works. any ideas?
Using TWRP, go into command mode and type the command used to turn off the flag to boot into recovery. Should get you back booting on 11A.
If you screwed up and Factory Defaulted, then you'll gonna have to restore stock and update naturally before hacking.
To restore stock, you gotta download the stock TOT file and use the flasher to go back to stock, then update the OTA updates twice up till the latest 12B. RE-Root and reinstall TWRP.
Nothing else works. Not even restoring a backup. The Flasher app was pretty straight forward after downloading all of the DLL files needed to launch it.

Hi friends have tried all the tutorials to get my d800 Lg g2 a brick but none works because my computer does not go into dowload mode gets stuck in the part that says "dowload mode" but did not get off to the screen firmware update.
excuse my English
You need to first download the kdz and lg flash utility with drivers.
Install drivers
The factory reset deleting system, cache, internal sd.
Then shutdown your g2.
Start to downloaded mode connecting your g2
Flash kdz & voila... Done
I too bricked my phone before. My flashing stuck at 49%. Recovered using above method, all is well now
This works 1000%. I bet on it. Just remember to wipe the phone completely before flashing. You will return to stock with unrooted status in download mode. U will have your warranty back too

My download mode does not go to the final screen (Firmware Update but stuck in download mode screen) and also not connect to computer. I cannot change port to 41 as required by LG FlashTool. So how can I do the kdz flash! Thanks.

I've flashed a new ROM on my LG G2 (D802) 16 GB and now I'm in big trouble but maybe there's some help in the XDA-Forum?
Here are the facts:
- G2 starts and takes few seconds and then restarts
- Got no CWM Recovery etc.
- Installed the orig D80210A Firmware via Flash Tool
- Can flash anything via LG Mobile Flash Tool
- Can boot into download mode
- CAN NOT ACTIVATE DEVELOPER MODE (nothing happens while ticking on the Build-Number)
- Got NO IMEI (got a EFS Backup via ioroot but without developer Mode I cannot communicate with the G2 via USB-Debugging)
- Facory Reset doesn't change anything
- No network and no GSM (I think cause of the missing IMEI)
Can anybody help?

I've done this 10 times this morning. But I flashed the new kdz file and made the factory reset after flashing. Maybe it will work the other way? Gonna try it tomorrow but don't think this will change anything.
I've got the 49 % thing a few weeks before and the only thing needed was to change the COM Port to 41.
kind regards
Mike

What a shame, I'm on the same problem
Hello, I have my g2 d803 from Rogers, its rooted and running 4.2.2 with twrp as my recovery. I've used the lg r&d test tool to unroot my phone before, by when I try to do it now so I can go back to stock and get KitKat, I select my kdz file, and push the upgrade button on the bottom, then on the next screen I do upgrade start, and the next screen that shows republic of Korea and language is supposed to come up but it doesn't, it just says something like "lg support tool is already running" then eventually the lg support tool opens and tells me there's an upgrade for my phone. Am I supposed to go to options and use the "update recovery" or whatever it is? I don't know what to do and I want to get my KitKat update. I even tried un installing all the lg programs, redownloaded everything from the XDA post on how to go back to stock, but it still won't work. Can someone help me or guide me in the right direction? Thanks in advance

Have you tried to use LG Supporter Tool?
I had nothing but trouble using the LG tool. It basically is screwed if you've used custom recovery. There are various workarounds claimed by people but NONE worked for me.
What did work for me was this - create your own recovery flashable zip file with a full stock ROM from a kdz. Note there are two variants you can create.
- stock but leaving custom recovery and JB bootloader, this also means you need to run with a custom modded kernel
- full stock - creating this zip WILL wipe your custom recovery and upgrade your bootloader, radio etc. but you will then be 100% stock

Ok, I was on a custom ROM for LS980 and all of a sudden it rebooted and I had no control of anything. There was no service either.
So first thing I did was a reboot. no good. Then I went booted into TWRP and restored my last backup, thought this would surely fix it but nothing. Still booted but had no functionality, plus now it started to go into a boot loop. Tried recovering different versions and no luck.
Then, I decided to use the Flash Tool recovery method. It worked in the sense that there was no longer a boot loop, but I still had no service and could not use a lot of the functions like updating PRL/PROFILE and few of the apps would not launch like the quick remote, it would say "SIM not ready"
I'm pretty much out of ideas at this point as I only have the flash tool option and since I lost recovery.
Is this considered BRICKED or does anyone have an idea? thanks

If you are still able to enter in the ROM it's not Bricked....
Put the phone in Fastboot and flash a recovery via Fastboot commands.
Then you can wipe everything (except internal) and flash a new ROM.
I've never fastbooted before. Is there a quick tutorial link for this?

There is no normal fastboot mode as on other phones. Best thing i think try to go back to stock via kdz/tot method and reinstall root and recovery

So I tried the flash tool again using different TOT files. ZV8 and ZVA files caused boot loops. The only file that almost worked was the ZVC file. By almost I mean, there's no boot loop, and i'm able to use the stock ROM however certain things don't work, like when launching the quick remote app, it says "SIM not ready", or stock video cannot play "Unsupported file type" error, and most importantly I'm not able to get any service.
The good part is, my wifi is working. So next I tried to root, however I get this a "unable to open /system/xbin/su: no such file or directory" (i'm attaching the photo for reference).
Thanks for any other tips of directions.
remove sim card and reinsert try that. Not working.
also check your imei. If its not there you may need to recover it from a twrp backup, (recover the efs that is) at least from the time you had no issues. Not working?
Also I read nothing about wiping. (wipe everything except internal sd) before performing a clean instal. Check for same issues, not there victory.
be carefull with full backups, they might contain the issue you are experiencing.

this is a ls980 so I can't remove the Back cover unless there's a way I don't know.
Also, I lost twrp recovery when I used the flash tool and tot method. Now, i'm trying to root and get recovery back but can't even root.

I am not very familiar with your model. But on the d802 there is a small slot on the side of the phone with a small hole. With the phone in box was a small metal device which you could poke in hole and the slot would open. Maybe other user could confirm.
Did you backup your twrp backup of the phone? Then now is also the time to put it back if the tot method deleted it.
Anyway did you check your imei, (dial *#06#, it should show your imei). usually when service is lost there is something wrong with imei, or simcard.
imei can be recovered by the efs backup in a twrp backup. Simcard via putting out back in, reboot, etc.

Thanks for all your help! sounds like its definitely a imei and Sim related issue.
I don't have any backups but I can get to the factory recovery which has an adb side load option. Do you think I can side load a stock ROM this way? If so, what type of file do I use?

Since I have no imei does this also mean it's a bad esn?
