Hi, I have a little crack in my N4 digitizer and only the half screen is working. I think of buying a new replacement and I want to know your opinion on the cheap chineese ones. Are they good or is it just ****. I don't have so much money and I'm wondering of buying this one

Hello guys im new to the forum i've just registered
Today i've dropped my Google Nexus 7 from maybe 40 santimeters .My tablet fell on one of its edges ,my screen was cracked not pretty bad
i can use it but actually the bottom side of the screen is cracked major and my screen isnt working around the crack.
So when i saw how much money i need to give for the digitizer with LCD display i was shocked.I cant believe how stupid this is if u crack the digitizer u need to buy whole new screen.Well i think to buy digitizer from tablet 10.1 inc and to cut off the the glass equals to the shape of my Nexus and to use the cables from my cracked digitizer to connect the new one.
Do you think this is possible or to sell it for parts ?
Sry for my bad English its not my native but i hope you help me
The digitiser for a 10" tablet is bigger than a 7" screen so you can't cut one down to fit. Look on ebay to see prices for broken Nexus 7's
You could check places like eBay or Craigslist for a cheap Nexus 7 8GB version. So you can remove the screen from it and place it on yours. If that is out of the question cause of the price it will cost.
You could easily buy a OTG cable and use a mouse on your nexus 7. You can pickup one on Amazon or Ebay for couple dollars. As long you can see what you are clicking on.

I am considering buying a new screen (from parts4repair) to replace my broken N7's one. However, none of the teardown tutorials show how to separate the screen from the bezel and how to re-attach it.
Has anyone tried to replace their screen with a new one? How did you do it?
I broke my first Nexus 7. Don't bother trying, the screen itself costs around $200. Plus a new digitizer, you might as well buy a new one.

I am aware of the costs involved. A new screen (lcd+digitizer) costs as low as 130$ on ebay. I am wondering if it is possible to DYI. So far I have learned that the screen is attached to the bezel with some adhesive, so I think I could replace the old adhesive and install the new screen. However I am not sure if that is all that it takes to replace it.
For the cost difference/effort input .. why not just buy a new one?
Sadly, these things are very throwaway..
I know it's probably going to be £50 badly spent but i just bought a samsung nx1100 smart camera and got the galaxy tab 2 7" free, the screen is pretty crappy compared to my broken nexus so I have bought a screen and digitizer from ebay..
Any tips/do's/dont's i should know about when replacing the screen or is it straight forward due to it being both parts?
Cheers guys/girls
I'm curious to how much a typical front screen self-replacement kit runs for? How much did you pay for the front screen assembly and please include links if you are happy with your Nexus 4 after the self repair.
I just cracked the front screen on my phone today and i'm debating whether it is worth it to just sell it on ebay or repair it myself. Sending it to LG is a little too pricey for my tastes considering I only paid 200 dollars for it.
The Drawback to selling it on Ebay is that you will probably only get like 90-100 bucks for it if your front screen is cracked

So you are essentially going to have to spend 100 bones to fix it yourself, hmmm. Really wish the nexus 4 wasn't so freaking fragile
I'm looking to finally replace the screen on my D800 G2. I dropped it a few months so and badly damaged the LCD and digitizer glass. I have been doing research but I feel buying replacement screens are always a gamble. I've fixed many iPhone screens in the past and even when ordering from the same vendor on Amazon you can still end up with a different quality screen than a previous purchase.
To anyone who has had to replace their G2's LCD and digitizer, what's a decent screen for the money? It doesn't have to be OEM quality, (I'm not looking to pay 75% of what I paid for the phone originally) but just as long as it looks decent and functions well.
