[Q] Droidmote Server on Droid-X - Droid X General

Has anybody been able to successfully install droidmote server on the Droid-X? It isn't available in the Play store for my Droid-X running CM7, and I can't get titanium backup to successfully restore a backup from my Moto X running android 4.4.

This is the "I can't read minimum app requirements" post of the day. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.videomap.droidmoteserver
Close thread.

What minimum app requirement are you referring to? The phone is rooted, and appears to have the Uinput module.

I figure it out. Apparently the current version in the Play Store requires android 4.0 or greater (even though the original version worked on android 2.2). I emailed the developer and he sent me version 3.2.2 (the last version that works with android versions less than 4.0).

[Q] Problem with my Nexus 7

Hi
I recently bought a Nexus 7 that came with 4.1.1. I updated ota to 4.1.2 then rooted with a toolkit. For reasons I can't remember I then un-rooted and locked back bootloader. Now, games like dead trigger tell me my device is incompatible with them, even though they ran well on 4.1.1.
What can I do ? Flash another stock version of 4.1.2 ?
Thank you
I don't think there is any link between your root status and software compatibility, you could flash the 4.1.2 stock image to be sure, but I think it more likely that your game needs to be updated.
Rooting does not change your build.prop fingerprint, but the update to 4.1.2 does. This is what the market uses to judge what software will run on your device along with your locale.

There's a lot of things that aren’t compatible with 4.1.2. I'm still running them. You can make a back up the next time to keep the apps. Or use app back up and restore to make a apk and install it on your N7.

Actually rooting 4.1.2 with the toolkit changed a setting and thus making the n7 incompatible with tegra 3 games

Like you can’t install those tegra 3 games from unknown sources?
I have dead space for GB and it doesn't work on ICS or JB, but I backed up the game into a apk and installed it. It worked after that.

Do apps do a check before installing?

Hi, the reason i ask is because when i sideload apps from my n7 to my xperia play, they install fine. When i try to do it to my brothers phone (its not the best of phones tbh) it always says app not installed.
So i just wondered what the reason could be? And could this be overcome by rooting and manually installing it?
Thanks
Not yet. Android Jelly Bean 4.2 will though. Read about it on google.
I mean check hardware specs ect, not the actual app for malware
I know this is a bit off topic.. But some apps will soon be verified by your device id. This is the same id that google wallet uses. It will make it so when you but a app on one device you can NOT install it on another.Ti Backup already has a built in way to help with this during back up restore.
The above is only from what i have read and is likely not totally true as its not implemented yet so who really knows .

It's because the phone is not compatible with what you are trying to install (either in hardware or minimum Android OS version).
Is the app you are trying to install offered to the phone on the official Google marketplace? If not, then there is a reason why.....

Nope, its not offered, but sometimes they can work when not offered.
I was just wondering if that was simply the reason, or if the apps generally cant install on a phone without specific specs, i.e android version X or multitouch
Thanks for the answer
i forgot about this.. I have used aptoide to side load a few apps that i know work on nexus 7 but in the play store show not compatible..This is not meant to Pirate apps.. I used this to install a messenger app that would not install and a few games that i have purchased...

[Q] Apps not compatible with Nexus 7

Hey all,
Was looking to get some help with my Nexus 7. Recently, certain apps in the Play Store do not show up in searches. When I link to them directly from the internet I get the "not compatible with your device" message. And, for the life of me, I cannot figure out why.
I am rooted, running the latest stock JB, and stock recovery. I have my DPI set to 175.
I thought that if I restored my device to stock, re-rooted that would fix it. Well, it did. For a while. I was able to get my apps installed, but now when trying to update, same thing occurs, I get the same compatibility problems. Is there some way around the device check in Play Store?
Any ideas or assistance will be greatly appreciated!!
Never tried it myself, but with the app Lucky Patcher, you can patch play store. Google for it.
This is what happen when you change dpi... If you want to stay with this dpi you have to flash a multi dpi play store GO HERE

[Q] Whatsapp for Nexus 7

Is there a way that I will can to install Whatsapp for my Nexus 7?
I don't know of a way to make it work on the N7. Their website says tablets are not supported, but you can download it from whatsapp.com/android.

It's possible only on rooted devices. You need to use another device that's compatible with WhatsApp, or an emulator like YouView to install it the first time and link it to your number. Then, using titanium backup or similar, freeze the app w/ data, and restore it on your rooted nexus 7.
I personally have WhatsApp running on my N7 32GB on v. 4.1.2. Updates to the app need to be done manually by using the apk found on their website.

Use the search function. You get incredible results, like this one.
Do you have the 3g model? Bcoz I installed an old apk which worked fine until today. After that I downloaded the latest apk from whatsapp.com and now that's working too. The message verification succeeded on the old apk in the first try itself..my nexus 7 is rooted but I didn't use titanium backup.. Im using the number that's in my nexus 7.
I didn't think it would work but I thought I would try. I have a 3G N7 that is not rooted, just plain stock jellybean.
I went to the Whatsapp website to download the .apk, opened it with ES file explorer and installed
I prefer the Helium method discribed by virusarus in post #204 here See also here

Update: 13.3.2.4_user_324002120 able to sustain root AFAIK

I grabbed my kindle this morning to find that it had updated and I had lost root. I'm not sure if my device had restarted but I was able to regain root by running towelroot. HDXposed appears to be functioning again but some of my apps are acting a little jittery after the sudden loss of root. (Fixed by clearing cache)
I don't have much more information atm though.
[Update]: My kindle automatically rebooted shortly after posting the above information. Luckily I didn't lose root afterwards. I had to reinstall google play and google services but everything has been running smooth since.
