I wonder if this dual booting idea could be used on the 7.7.
Would be great to use stock(ish) and CM10 dual boot
Really interested to know too if it works on our tab.
Why would you want to boot to a ROM that has so many things not working ?

Because those things wrong reduce with time and are certainly better than Jelly Bean from Samsung.
Isn't that the point of dual boot; have the base Samsung 404 and test JB on a dual boot...

That's exactly the reason he needs dual boot.

The only ROM I would even consider duel booting is Zeta and it is ICS . all the Jellys are Dev roms
and the only way I would boot to one of those is to help with testing , even then the risk of bricking my
7.7 is way to high for my comfort .

I suppose you are referring to stock ICS...
I'm using CM10 since first build and on many points is way better than stock.
The only feature I'm missing from stock is the HDMI dongle , so I would like to boot into stock ROM when I need to connect the tablet to my HDTV...

This method is really interesting, all android dual-boot methods I had seen before required specific kernel modifications.
I'll definitely give this a try on 7.7 when I got some time, will keep you up to date.

The only rom on which you have a risk of brick is stock ICS, so what you're saying is just non-sense.
Btw you're the one trolling about cm10-based roms in the first place.

Before you flash this backup your system that way if it doesn't boot you can go back into recovery and restore. Also if it boots can you take some screen shots.
Also i do not take any responsibility if your phone dies or blows up..

Just tried the Rom with Siyah dual boot, it boots but it goes into a boot loop.
I typed this by hand.
What was the base on which you ported it?
And which version of flyme os?
Latest flyme is based on 4.03 so you will need to have a ics kernel to make it boot.. Also the base has to be ics..

I used the stable ics cyanogenmod base 4.0.4.I got an ics kernel in it that isn't the problem.
The more I read about this OS the more I'd like to see the port. Heck! I'd even like to handle one of those 4-cores to see how it compares.

it won't work with siyah kernel because it need ICS kernel ...
i tried the ported Rom for Galaxy S 2 , it was good , but a lot of features not work well ...
Soon we will start having cyanogenmod version for nexus 4 and at the beginning it will be unstable so I was wondering if any of you tried to install a dual boot on your nexus 4

Duel booting is very common on samsung phone s1,s2,s3 implemented into the kernel
but i haven't seen it on a nexus before.
Well Bootmanager lite is compatible with the previous nexuses
I have Boot Manager Pro, I will test it once I get my Nexus 4.
anybody try this yet?
Boot Manager Pro doesn't support Jellybean (yet).
so does anything work to dual boot yet?
There's a multiboot loader available for Nexus 7.
Maybe it will be ported to Nexus 4 some day...
is this possible on the nexus 4?

The creator will not do it because he does not have a nexus 4. So we have to do it ourselves, we can use his sources.
So how do we build it? are there instructions?

I wish I knew what I was doing to do something like this, but can anyone actually do this? If it is done for the nexus 7, I would imagine it should be able to be done for the 4?
I will begin trying to port this for the mako device next days, but I will have the Nexus 4 device in a few weeks only, so I would need some testers. Next weekendI'll post more details about my work if it goes well.
Adaptation of multirom
Hello,

I am a newbie here but I know read tutorials, install and test firmware.

Thanks for giving your help. However I just grab sources from mako kernel and multiboot, didn't begin working on it yet, tomorrow I'll try. First step making kernel having kexec boot method.
Edit : have to dl linux and reinstall my bootloader, a upgrade of my windows made it go away. :s That's ironic, a broken dualboot on my PC prevents me to work on dualboot for the phone. Anyway will begin working on that this evening.
Please do update on this if you get it working. I would like to dual boot Ubuntu and my stock phone OS.

Of course, I'll ask a thread in the dev section when I'l need some testing. I don't promise any result, but think it will be easy to port, just need to spend some time. Will begin tonight.

Anyone planning to port Ubuntu Touch to the Note 10.1. It seems like any device that can run CM 10.1 can run Ubuntu. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting
I think we need a multi boot boot-loader maybe the method like on the nexus 7 IT Rocks can mutiboot several os ..
I have ran ubuntu on nexus not tried touch yet. Maybe i will today later..

A multi boot would definitely be nice but you should be able to backup and restore to previous Android as it keeps the custom recovery.
There's a how-to guide for porting on wiki.ubuntu if someone is capable of doing it:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting
Ooo this sounds very cool. I tried to read the wiki but my head almost exploded trying to understand the first bits. So I doubt I am the one to get it. lol!
Ok! According to Ubuntu post on nexus 10 forum they discovered that the Ubuntu touch is actually a Cm10.1 rom with Ubuntu over it and they say that porting is as simple as porting cm to other devices

My old phone was an LG g3. It has the same resolution screen and miui 8 was ported to it... It could be possible to port to our phone but I've never built roms before so it won't be from me...

MultiROM, Flyme, MIUI
I hope MultiROM Support, MIUI and a Flyme OS port come to the Axon 7 in the future. I miss those days when I could switch between the three on my old M8.
So.
since the last post is some months old.
Would anybody be so gently to port this rom to our loved Axon 7 :fingers-crossed:
or can anybody can tell me why it should not be possible to port this Rom to the Axon?

I know miui.. And try to build during s4 time and always failed..
