Hi,
I'm trying to understand why phone is out if deep sleep so much.
When looking in most apps of battery/wake/cpu usage, i see that android system and android os are responsible to most of the usage. The problem is that all history accumulating apps do not breakdown the processes under "androud os" and "android system" .
I am looking for an app like that if anyone knows.
Thanks.

Hi bud!
Android System Tuner Free suggests it's LGE Gravity Sensor, so I am charging my phone to 100, Disabling "Knock-on" and see how it goes Stay tuned.
Thanks!

So far I am at 94%. 34 minutes of screen on time.
Android system usage still 19%
Android OS down to 10%
I seriously need help, seems like "Knock on" isn't the main culprit.
I hoped it's not that, as i really like it.

Me neither, though it's hard to tell right now with only 6-7% drained.
The phone is "harder" to use with knock-on disabled. I'll keep you tuned
If all you see in your app is android os and android system, then it does not drill down in them to show which of the processes/modules is consuming.
That's what I'm looking for.

Try both Android System Tuner Free and GSam Battery monitor.
Gsam is no good as it does not breakdown to apps in android system/os, but android tuner is great.
I see that most of my drain is from screen and after that it is lge_gravity_sensor and dhd_dpc which is wifi related.

Try disabling Google now. Also disable the Google location settings and I bet your battery life will double.
Never used google now.
Will try to disable location services.
Thanks : )

Gotta figure out your wake locks. I lost 0-1% overnight last night.
Best bet is to download better battery stats and gsam battery info. Also CPU spy is helpful for figuring if your tablet is deep sleeping or not.

I've turned off NFC, Location Services and only sync the folders I need in Gmail and i'm down to about 5% overnight. I'll try setting the wifi to sleep when the screen is off and see how that goes.
How accurate are battery stats on the Nexus 10?
I've had this phone for just under a week. I'm rooted, but running stock. Is Google Services supposed to be using this much battery (more than the screen)? The screen had 2 hours and 44 minutes.
Thanks for any assistance!

My Android System uses #1. I guess they are glitches. Samsung Link was using #2 until I disabled it.

I noticed the same thing the first couple of days I had the phone and then it stopped. Possible uploading backups to google?
I never had the issue just like many of you dont see this Android System taking up all the cpu. I wonder if that's caused by me having my GPS on and set to show my location at all times so my close friends can locate me.

Install the free app "wakelock detector" and disable or remove any app that is waking the phone up or using too much cpu power.

I removed all bloatware from the phone, used Greenify to hibernate misbehaving apps, Better Battery Stats to find wakelocks and what not, and the usual: lower brightness when you can, disable any gestures or smart features you dont use. Turn off wifi, Bluetooth, and Location when possible. I also underclock my phone to 1.6hz for most of the day.
I get around 24 to 48 hours depending on usage, and around 5-6 hours screen on time.

delete new skype app (old version doesn't wake up the phone)
delete facebook and instead use a browser bookmark... the app is always running in background.
delete ALL samsung related **** and other stuff you don't need.
my problem was wlan_rx_wake which was solved by buying a new router.
i had a fritzbox for 130 euros which seemed to flood my network with some data.... only android phones woke up because of this.
bought a new router for 18 euros... problem solved.
****in piece of **** :silly:
LoL and also Log Out from instagtam when not using!!!!!!! wastes most of the Battry also delete apps you dont use and dont use a live wallpaper!

one thing that really kills this battery is the setting under location access "wifi and mobile network location" if you have that enabled google services keep the phone awake and drain the battery. I disabled that and my battery last so much longer now.
Well guys, something is still eating my battery alive. I went to bed with over 40% battery and I woke up with 7% left.

Yeah, good tip. If that doesnt work, go to Maps and disable history and location reporting as well. Might want to disable Wifi and mobile network location under the global location settings as well. This prevents other programs from eating up battery trying to access location when GPS is off. Restart your phone after diasbling any of these, then check battery life

Lol nice. The only complaint that I have about this is that I had to turn off every single location based setting in the phone. I've never had to do that on my previous phones. It never drained like this on my S4 with those settings on.
The root of my complaint is that I can't even get weather updates on my widget because it is all turned off. And I always like to have the weather widget on my main screen. Which single setting can I turn on to get weather updates? I will leave the other ones off.

Power management wakelocks in the kernel is a placeholder for partial wakelocks. Look at the partial wakelock list for details. I had a terrible *backup* partial wakelock that had a start count of 3000 within 8 hrs!!! It was killing my bat. Check yours, it might be that same if its not the location wakelocks acting up again
Anytime I check battery, android system is usually using 30- 40% battery with at least 35 packages listed for it. Also very little keep awake time, under 10 minutes. Is this normal? This is on 4.2.2 rooted. Thanks.
