Install the free app "wakelock detector" and disable or remove any app that is waking the phone up or using too much cpu power.

I removed all bloatware from the phone, used Greenify to hibernate misbehaving apps, Better Battery Stats to find wakelocks and what not, and the usual: lower brightness when you can, disable any gestures or smart features you dont use. Turn off wifi, Bluetooth, and Location when possible. I also underclock my phone to 1.6hz for most of the day.
I get around 24 to 48 hours depending on usage, and around 5-6 hours screen on time.

delete new skype app (old version doesn't wake up the phone)
delete facebook and instead use a browser bookmark... the app is always running in background.
delete ALL samsung related **** and other stuff you don't need.
my problem was wlan_rx_wake which was solved by buying a new router.
i had a fritzbox for 130 euros which seemed to flood my network with some data.... only android phones woke up because of this.
bought a new router for 18 euros... problem solved.
****in piece of **** :silly:
LoL and also Log Out from instagtam when not using!!!!!!! wastes most of the Battry also delete apps you dont use and dont use a live wallpaper!

Hello everyone,
My S2 only last for 10-13 hours and it drains battery too fast. Tried everything and nothing happened.
In my phone i disabled almost everything which drain battery.
No Facebook
No auto syn of Gmail
Access location is off.
GPS Off
Soft key light/Vibration off
No skype
Disabled Accu weather app
Disabled many others bloat ware
Brightness is set at almost zero level
Better Battery Stats show connectivity wake lock. i think ghis the main problem for drain.
And plz tell me how can i set my phone to only gsm. There is no option for that in phone. In setting it says GSM / wcdma and only wcdma. I set it at gsm/wcdma. Am from Pakistan and here there is no 3g/wcdma.
And if by dialing *#*#4636#*#* i choose gsm, it comes back to gsm/wcdma. Is it draining battery?
<nvm, didn't read properly...>

what ROM are you using ??
What!?
You wrote "My S2 only last for 10-13 hours and it drains battery too fast."
On attached screenshot you have 80% left after 6 hours of usages whereas 48% is used by Screen and 17% is used by Boat Browser.
You have to expect about 1~1½ % drain per hour ... even if you don't use your phone.
Screen drains a lot depending of your amount of Brightness! If you can get 4 hours Screen On, your happy.
From what I can see ... your battery time is totally normal!
I have Stock rom ICS 4.0.4
My cellphone is branded version and it comes from 3 Mobile UK.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
no its not normal.. today i charged it and not use it for 2 hours.. i put it on airplane mode and leave it for 2 hours after 100% charge, to check the partial wakelocks.
I thought this time connectivity service wakelock doesn't appear but it does.
i thought connectivity service wakelock is due to mobile signal but when i put it on airplan mode for 2 hrs this partial wakelock still appear.

Hmm , I am not a Fan of ICS though, but the battery time which you have shared (Just Saw it) LOL , it is totally fine , and secondly , use a safe kernel to root the phone (PhilZ Kernel) link is in my signature , and then Flash NeatROM Lite v4.0 , my battery lasts easily 18-20h and i am a heavy user of the phone with Calls , Messaging , FB , Twitter, Whatsapp, Viber & Tapatalk

PLS STOP with all this Juice Defender nonsense! A task killer often will drain your battery even more ... some processes will just restart again after you have killed it.
On newer Android version (GB and ICS) I haven't found any task killers that actually prolonged my battery time.
Adjust your screen brightness as low as possible, use a dark backgrounds and themes, get rid of unnecessary Widgets and Live Screen backgrounds, Sync Mail, Calendar, Twitter only when needed ... and then you will be fine :good:

I know I'm a heavy phone user, but how are people saying they get 9+ hours of constant use, like watching videos, and I'm getting half that from texting, using Hangouts, and a couple social networking apps? My screen uses between 45-50% of that and the rest is apps, primarily the ones I use most.

Well, for starters wifi is at 0% which means ur constantly using 4G which can suck ur battery dry especially if you're in an area with bad reception.

My wifi always shows it's connected as a solid blue line, but I've been on LTE all day.
Might be a rogue app running in the background or something? I use the Active Apps widget and randomly end programs from time to time while clearing up the RAM as well. Hopefully it's just a rogue app or bad battery?

You're definitely not getting what you should. Look at my stats, a lot of wifi but also not as much held awake time on my phone considering what I have as Battery time. Take a look around there's things you can disable like bloatware that may be holding your phone from sleeping. Also see if you can reconfigure that one app, maybe it updates to often. I don't usually have any app drain more then kernel and the android system.
Or its your battery if you've done all that.

I was having that same problem when first got my phone. I'm pretty sure it was the new themer application it, worked fine until I uninstalled it, then my battery constantly needed to be charged. To originally fix it I backed up and factory reset it then it seemed to be working fine but now that I'm rooted I have been using greenify and it works like a dream. It tells you in better detail what's draining your battery and what wakes it up in your background as it tries to sleep. Now I get about 22 hours with pretty regular usage
With 56 minutes on screen time, I should get close to ten hours... you must have an app that is killing your battery or that uses data alot

Here is how mine is looking today so far, I would say my Note 3 outlasts my other phones no problem.. biggest offenders I noticed that wrecked mine was Google Settings>Location Reporting turned that off, and when I dont need it turn everything off in Settings>Location Reporting.. when I go out or want to use Google Now I turn it on .. I greenified a lot of the stupid apps like My Magazine or disabled them outright

Three things, one are you rooted. Two if not, is the beginning of it while you are sleeping or using it? If using it, what other things have you tweaked If not rooted.
And third but completely unrelated, I see you have a sense clock, if you want a great one that is pretty much a perfect copy of sense, take a look at "sense v2 flip click and weather". I use that and love it

As per the title, I am finding on a daily basis that I am only getting 14-15 hours Max.
I only have one homescreen with no Widgets on it.
I have 3 mail accounts, 2 are exchange, 1 Gmail.
No live wallpaper,
Been in a good signal area most of the time, send maybe 10 texts a day, very few calls. No music listening, no picture taking.
Phone is a uk phone d802 supplied by 3 but reflashed with generic open firmware to remove 3 bloat.
Any ideas what's going on or how I try to resolve it?

Might be an app sucking the battery or a bad flash. Try reflashing the firmware. Do a factory reset before the flash and one afterwards.
Also, install GSAM battery monitor.
Disabling knock on might help as well. However if you do find a solution without disabling knock on please let me know.

try regular procedure found everywhere on how to determine wakelock.
also check for battery unfriendly settings. like email sync settings, push is friendliest, check-in every minute keeps phone awake lol.
but most importantly, state what you do in these 14 hours. How many is the screen on. etc.

I think I can do this from the standard task manager can't I? Sure there is an option to stop services. Don't really use Google now so will not miss that.

turn backup off,
reboot, check if settings were saved
install betterbatterystats from play or this forum. with that check kernel and partials. Google what they are and mean.
Also check deep sleep percentage in cpu spy. should be, pending you keeping awake around 95% in period off charger.

My battery life has gone to hell since the 2nd 4.4.2 update on [email protected] last week. I was getty 36 to 48 hours every time. As soon as the new update went in things changed the next day. Now I am lucky to get10 to 12 hours out of it. I have started pulling app but nothing has worked.
The battery drain on my once perfect S4 is now worse then on my LG Thrill!
Some things that helped control my battery in Kit Kat
In KitKat Google changed how location services works which seems to cause a lot of the battery drain issues. If you have Wi-Fi turned off during sleep, apps are likely trying to get your location using GPS which will easily drain your battery. It seems like even with Location Services is turned off that some apps can still continue to try and request location. Personally I like using the location services and that many apps use in Android so completely disabling wasn't an option for me.
I've played around with it quite a bit myself and found these settings have helped me::
-Leaving Google Location Services on at High Accuracy has been better on my phone's battery life.
-Leave Wi-Fi always on if it's available. (Use something like Llama or Tasker to automatically turn Wi-Fi on and off.)
-Setup My Places in Locations that correspond to Wi-Fi, etc
-Try uninstalling/reinstalling updates to Google Search, Google Play Services and Google Play Store
-Go through your apps and uninstall anything you aren't using or is not from a reputable developer. A lot of apps seem to have keep awake and location permission enabled by default that don't need it. You won't see these apps in the battery screen because they hide behind tiny wake lock requests and Google Play Services.
Another tip for saving battery is to use LLama or Tasker to disable Account Syncs any time you disconnect from a Wi-Fi network.
Good Luck and Cheers
