I just got the G2 and its great but I can't hear any of my notifications, the volume is maxed and I still don't think its loud enough. Is there anything I can do?
Slide down the notification bar. On the right hand side of the volume rocker there's a settings Option.
Press on it and it will allow you to adjust the volume of your notifications individually.

My g2 has very low notification volume (its maxed under settings, but when the phone is in my pocket, I can never hear it). It's a problem because with the phone's weak vibration and lack of volume, I keep missing notifications. Is there any way I can increase the sound using a program or something?
Thanks.

CM rom has DPS manager it increase your speaker volume

Yesterday someone mentioned an app called "volume boost" if not using CM. Worth a try if it's free eh.
I'm currently using Virtuous ROM and I would like to stick to that since I like Sense UI (so CM is not an option )
Volume boost appears to be for headphones, and not the phone speakers.
Any ideas?
So I've had the n7 for a few weeks and love it. Running android 4.2 and nothing rooted. The 1 thing that annoys me most is that the volume rocker only seems to affect media volume, no matter where I am on the device. I have to open setting to adjust notification volume.
This isn't how it has worked on any other Android phone or tablet I've used. The volume rocker controls notification volume on everything else and it adjusts the media volume when I'm in a game or music/movie player.

If you find out the reason, i want to know it.
I wish it would only control media volume for me, i hate it controlling the ringer/notification volumes, but unfortunately there's no "fix" for that.
Maybe you found the magic solution xD
I found if im watching a video or listening to music it will only effect what im listening too, or if I do it on the main screen with nothing running it will change all the volumes.
You can press the rocker once and then tap the mixer button on the right side of the volume slider to bring up other volume options, but the main reason is most people set the notification volume and then just leave it alone. Media volume is the only thing that needs quick adjusts, usually. -Ara

This makes sense, but it's not what I'm used to. I guess I have to adjust to it. I'd like to be able to just control notification volume from say the home screen like I can my on my android phone. Oh well. 1 extra step won't kill me

On my Note 3, if the phone is in vibrate with the headphones plugged in I dont get the notification sound. I was told it was supposed to do play the notification through the headphones. Any ideas.
It does play the notification through the headphones when the sound is on.
If ur ringtone is set to vibrant or silence it won't have any notification sound. Kinda the whole point of being on vibe. You can bump ur ringtone up one level past vibe with the side volume rocker and then use ur notifications volume that way. That would be the easiest way lol. Someone smarter may know better than I, I'm sure. Hope that helped

I've read a few topics on the G2 regarding it having low volume but recently I was messing with my nieces and I ran into something I believe is a glitch. When you lower the ringtone volume it also affects the media volume. Playing with it I was so disappointed that I checked the media volume was maxed all the way (which it was). I then selected settings button next to it and ringtone volume was on vibrate so I decided to raise the bar while Pandora ran. Increasing this volume made the media volume get noticeably louder. It seems the left speaker takes an increase/decrease depending on your ringtone volume. Can anyone else check this out? Ps I'm messing with a Sprint G2 if it matters..

There are no left and right speakers...only the one on the right. The left side is the microphone.
I noticed this also. I thought it was due to my G2 being rooted with the volume boosting mod.
When you have your ringtone on vibrate the media volume seems to be only outputting 70 percent or so even if you have the slider to max volume. Once you move the ringtone off vibrate, the sound instantly jumps to 100 percent. Weird...

Actually it gives it an impressive boost! The louder you max your ringtone volume the louder the media volume gets lol. I'm sure it's a glitch but at least I found a way to not be so annoyed with low media output. Now I actually tell my niece to lower her darn games. That's what I get for tinkering around with it Lol

Oh ok that's good to know. Extremely weird tho that increasing ringtone volume make it sound like the left side is picking up volume. Maybe the increase in volume is so much it has the speaker pouring out the left side too. You sure that mic is not both?

Is there a way to control it, as whenever i get a new notification while listening to music it gives me a jolt.
BTW, all volumes are already on the lower side, up to 3 notches from 0.
