[Q] HTC explorer wifi dropping out after flashing CM10 - Networking

Hey,
when i had stock rom i used to have problem with my wifi reception on my device i.e htc explorer which was solved by enabling the option "BEST WIFI PERFORMANCE" under advanced setting in networks and settings>WIFI..but now after flashing CM10...there is no such option that can be ticked from advance settings... so now again the wifi is dropping out...it stays connected but no internet after some time. Hoping to know if there is any fix to this problem...??

Anytime turn off wifi no 3g available anymore!

Anytime I turn off wifi connection and try to connect with 3g after it there´s no application can get any access to internet.
Even softreset or deleting and typing new ISP settings don´t work except hardreset until I turn on wifi and turn it off again.
Really weird!
Can anyone help me please!?
Thanks!
I had an issue recently that sounds very similar. I altered some wi-fi settings, specifically to have a fixed IP address on my home network and when I was away from my network, 3G stopped working.
My fix was to use the wizard to set up my data access again from scratch (Start - Settings - Connections - Connections Setup). After this, everything worked again. Not sure if this'll help, but might be worth a try.
I still don't know why one affected the other, but if I go anywhere near my data settings, it happens and is repeatable.
Problem fixed with original rom
Thanks for answer, but I tried your advice couple of times before.
No result!
but its the same, I have static IP at home too and connection works fine but after disabling wifi no internet connect available.
Now I flashed original HTC rom and I have no problem anymore. It has to deal with the cooked roms of Dutty (both versions v1.7 and v1.8 extreme).
I would like use one of these roms but I have to fix that!
I've had the problem and was fixed by - in connections... "Programs that access the internet use:" was "My work network" -ie wifi.. instead should be "Internet over GPRS"
changing it fixed it.
i find it annoying it should have "Try wifi first, if no access THEN use the Expensive data plan"
I´ve had tried that options too...no result!
But it has to deal with your hint I think. Maybe my settings don´t effect like it does with your handheld. Maybe something´s wrong with writing settings in registry?
I have a same issue.
there´re lot of people having that same issue....
Maybe Dutty by himself is able to give us answer?!
I´ve flashed Dutty´s 1.9 now but I have same issue again.
What´s wrong with my settings?
Same settings worked very well in original htc rom.
What the heck is going on?

WiFi issues when there are many networks around

Hi All,
We have lots of wireless networks at work. When I turn on WiFi, sometimes my xperia hangs, sometimes it becomes very irresponsive. When I go the Wireless settings, I see that the adapter is powered on, but when I go to WiFi settings, it says "turn on your wireless adapter". Anyone else having this problem?
The best behaviour I got until now is with itje's Touch-IT v4.0 beta4 rom (thanks to him for his great rom btw). With his rom I can at least soft-reset or turn off the phone without having to take out the battery
Any solutions or suggestions are welcome.
Cheers
Nobody has any suggestions?

[q] wifi not working !

I have been having an issue with the wifi on my htc wildfire, it seems to be connecting to some other networks but when i try to connect to my home network it says "not in range". any help would be much appreciated
Looks like your wifi is working.
Suggested troublehoot:
1) reset your AP
2) manually configure your wifi setting on Wildfire (instead of auto detect)
hope that will work
Thank you...will give it a try

[Q] Nook Color Wifi keeps disconnecting Cm 7.1

So yesterday I tried to update my nook color rooted cm7 (not sure which version, but was used when nightly 177 was highest) to CM7.1.0-11162011-nightly-encore, but the thing is, my wifi would connect for maybe 5 minutes before it disconnects.
Then I would have to go to wifi settings to reconnect or sometimes it reconnects by itself. On my old version of CM7, the wifi was flawless. It would never disconnect like it does now, so I am sure it is not router problem.
Now it just says "out of range" when disconnecting. I tried the method where I forget all my networks and then connect again, but it didnt work. I also checked my adhoc = 0 thing from the root.
Anyone know why it is like that? I rooted my sd card with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000957 website.
since my wifi didnt work, i reformatted my sdhc card and set it up again, following the rules on the website including setting up wifi before installing gapps. Wifi still disconnects.
I have also tried using the update-cm-7.1.0-encore signed, which still doesnt solve the wifi problem.
Is this because the wifi goes into sleep mode even if the screen is on? Im pretty much on the wifi setting screen, and seeing the wifi go from connected -> disconnected -> scanning "loop". My wifi is set to sleep when screen is off, but it should still stay connected if my screen is on right? It just disconnects and reconnects constantly while I look at the wifi settings
Thank you for reading! please help..
Same issue. Wifi keeps disconnecting after about 5 minutes.
Have you tried deleting all of your old wifi spots?
Ok I fixed my problem by limiting my router to 802.11 g. Suddenly no more drops.
Yea I did the "forget" all wifi networks and it still disconnects.
Would it still be my router problem if the wifi stayed connected on my earlier version? The one before I upgraded to cm7.1.0.
Hmm. I had that issue until going into advanced wifi settings and changing the Wi-Fi sleep policy to never. Will keep monitoring.
Where did you find the advanced wi-fi settings? I go to Settings -> Wireless & networks -> Wi-Fi- Settings, but my choices are: turn on Wi-Fi, Network notification, and add Wi-Fi Network.
Also, I'm using [CM7.2-RC0] MiRaGe - KANG build of CyanogenMod...I don't know if that would make a difference?
I assume you already figured out since you posted on the other thread.

Heroine loses Wifi when screen off

Hello everyone
I am seeing a strange behaviour of heroine rom, when the screen is turned off the phone loses the wifi connection. I have tried to set it to never switch off wifi but it seems ineffective. I was wondering if I could fiddle some other settings to sort the problem out.
If I reflash with the same rom, will I lose all the installed apps/phone numbers, google apps?
I am currently not in 3G nor gprs coverage so I can only use wifi.
thanks
Configuration
Hi,
I had that rom on my hero and works fine, i remeber that there is a configuration in setting of WIFI when you can change a wifi sleep policy, try it
hello
it is already set to keep wifi always on
I tried to install an app to keep wifi on, called wi-fi keep alive. Unfortunately it does not really work.
The phone disconnects after the screen goes off, in around 2-5 min maximum.
I tried all the workaround, including the ping option, but it is simply ineffective.
any suggestion? idea? config file to edit?
