Hello,
I recently bought an S4 from Sprint, but I'm working overseas in Vietnam. They assured me that they had unlocked the phone, but, well, it's Sprint and the phone wasn't unlocked when I put my SIM in. Therefore, I rooted and downgraded my baseband to MDC and did the unlock method, which worked. However, ever since then I haven't been able to receive calls (I can still make them though).
When people call me, the phone rings on their end but nothing shows up on my end.
Here are solutions I've tried:
- Various Roms (Jellybean & Kitkat)
- Upgrading the Baseband to MJA
- Clearing the Cache
Anyone have any ideas what the problem is? Thanks!
i have a similar situation My phone is unlocked and working on Orange GSM with TW base rom, but if a put any rom base on 4.4.x it pick up the signal, SMS and Data works but incoming calls doesnt ring even if the other party hear the bip and went i try to dial out it doesnt hang up. Try a Samsung base rom, thats the only working rom for me. Any AOSP or AOKP i can make a call, but cannot received them. But the strange thing is the other party can hear the tone.
Edit 1: Find a possible solution go try this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539794
Edit 2: My phone is now working like a charm with AOSP doing the steps on the link

I am missing calls sporadically on my powerwashed Froyo rom. I have tried flashing different radios (ec09, eh03) and am still having issues. The calls never make it to my phone or my call history. My only indication that I missed a call is the voicemail notification if the caller left a voicemail.
I have missed several important calls and am very frustrated. Can this be a problem with the rom itself, or is this kind of problem only caused by a radio? I need a rock-solid fix ASAP, whether that is yet another radio, or a different rom+radio completely. I don't even care what version of Android it is at this point. If donut works best, I'll do it! I just need a phone that receives 100% of calls.
Any suggestions?
I believe that is a rom issue. Have you tried any of the EH03 based roms? I've always ran MTD roms (CM7/MIUI/ICS) on this phone and have never missed a call, unintentionally at least.

the missed call issue was kernel related...i say tou should upgrade to atleast a eh03 rom or preferably a ICS rom/kernel.
My fascinate seems to miss calls no matter what combination of things I try, even stock OTA. I've experienced this problem with all of my Verizon phones, but not to the degree my fascinate does. At this point I've just learned to live with. Most people know to text me or call more than once, since I always have my voice mail disabled.
no matter what rom i install i always encounter this one issue. I always have to copy libril.so and libsec-ril.so from STOCK to my new ROM to get data working and all that. Well I always run into the same problem. First i call *228 to activate so it works good i receive both sms and mms and can send and i receive calls. when i make a call it also works wonderful but when it comes time to end the call the phone will just have a black bar at the bottom and say at the top right dialing and i cant end the call unless the person on the other line ends it . I ve tried rebooting and reset cache and much more. does anyone know a fix for this or has anyone encountered this issue ? (Samsung galaxy s5 G900R4) (US CELLULAR) I uploaded ascreen shot to show what happens AFTER i hit end call
Did this also occur on Stock?
Sent from my SM-G900P using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No stock works perfect only on custom ROMs , on aokp it happened but stopped for some time but tw based ROMs it occurs without stopping
I have an s4 from rogers (Canadian model) and initially had cyanogen mod as my rom but I realized that I was missing nearly 5 GB of storage on my phone. I read that to fix this I had to go back to stock using Odin. I went back to stock 4.2.2 using Odin, but then my WiFi stopped working. I couldn't turn WiFi on or search for networks. I then rooted my phone and installed a rom and my WiFi problem was fixed, but now I cant make calls. Every time I try to call someone my screen goes black and the recipient cannot hear me and I cannot hear them. Also, the sound on my phone does not work. I have flashed multiple roms and still get the same problem. Does anyone know any possible solution. I have looked around and many people have had the same problem, but no solution. Any help would be appreciated.
I've missed a few calls during the last few days. When it happen, the phone doesn't ring at all and the call doesn't even appear in the calls history. It's just that I can catch them when I see a new voice message. My phone is on Marshmallow with Koodo/Telus provider. What could be the cause of this problem, maybe a bad SIM card? I even called Koodo tech support but they weren't helpful they only told me to look into phone app settings. What I did on my side: I installed latest version of Squid kernel thinking it could be because the old version of kernel had a bug and I cleared Dalvik cache. I also removed SIM card and made sure it is seated properly when I put it back.

try having your simcard into another phone and ask someone to call. just to eliminate the simcard/telco issues.
any news?I have also this issue.they call me,they say they hear the beep calling sound but my phone doesnt ring, doesnt open the screen,no missed call notif.nothing!ghost call!!I tested once, and it rang after the 4th beep sound.wtf!
today I catched a log!!! I made a call to my phone at 20:45.we hope someone can read the log and detect the priblem! https://www.dropbox.com/s/w6xrz84rk3u62aj/calldelay2045.txt?dl=0
I happened to read that old post of mine (I forgot about it). Here's the solution I found: I installed the stock firmware for my Canadian carrier (Koodo/Telus). Originally, I was using another firmware from Brazil because they were the first to get a Marshmallow update. It appears that using a different firmware was causing the problem.
thanksI think I found my problet.it must was xposed module phone id changer.and was a conflict when I was receining a call..
I've been using AICP for a while (Marshmallow), but haven't done an update in a while. By a while, I mean that I don't think I've flashed anything in weeks. Suddenly, I cannot make or receive calls today. Yesterday I made a number of calls just fine. I checked all the standard possible causes, dialer apps, default apps for phone, etc. After no success, I decided to flash back to stock.
Now I'm on stock 6.0. Same problem, cannot make calls. All I get is a screen which says "dialing" until it makes a tone sound and hangs up, never rings anyone. My phone never rings or responds when other people call. I do have full bars and service, and my APN is set up properly with AT&T in the USA. SMS and Data work fine, and so does WiFi. No other problems at all with the phone. I've had it for about a year and a half with no real hardware issues other than a loose charging port. No drops, no cracked screen or anything.
I'm wondering if anybody has a clue about what the problem with my phone is. I'm willing to generate and provide logs if there's a way to do that which could show the issue.
EDIT1: Derp, just tried the SIM in my girlfriend's phone. Seems to by my sim card. I'll go to AT&T tomorrow and report back here if the issue is fixed.
