Hello,
Well this might be more a android question but I've been always told that taking screenshots on android had to be done this way http://www.altafsayani.com/2008/11/01/how-take-screenshots-of-an-android-phone/
And some minutes ago I turned off my wifi using touchwiz fast acces and I don't remeber what I was pressing but when I pressed home button it took a screenshot (attached)
So how can I take screenshot (can't find on google)
I'm on JP3
u can do it by pressing Back + Home button

How? Never work for me - -"
ok thanks there no need for this thread anymore
Root it and just use ShootMe, shake your phone, it takes screenshot and puts it neatly in a dedicated folder.

You mean all the time or only in lock screen?
I do not know of any way to completely disable them.
Some apps, like Full Screen Caller Id, let you disable them while the device is locked.

I think I found solution.Using root explorer,I go to system/usr/keylayout/htcleo-keypad.kl and delete key 102 HOME.After rebooting my phone, everything looks ok now.

1...You need a usb otg device
2...download quick shortcut maker http://apk-dl.com/quickshortcutmaker
3...transfer quick shortcut to usb otg and plug into phone
4...open accessibility on the first screen when you boot the phone
5...under accessiblity go down to services where switch access turn it from off to on
6 click settings then scroll to the bottom to key combo for overview and set it to the volume down button by hitting volume down
then click the back key til you get back to the screen with emergency dial
7 click on emergency dial and dial 112 then press the volume down button to open up the overview menu and click on dual window then select the file manager (at this point click the little phone icon and go back to the phone and end the phone call
8 hit volume down again and go back to the file manager and find the quick short cut maker apk and install it
9 do not hit done hit open instead once its open search home selector the click select home then click try then select home it will bring you to the home screen of the phone
10 go into the phone setting then click general then apps then clear all google app data (make sure you clear every google app!!)
very important then go into playstore and add your own gmail account will say connection error (reboot phone)
11 then you can go to through the setup fully it will say your account has been added and you can now setup your phone
12 for good mesaures do a factory reset from the setting let the phone reboot and set up fresh voila a fully functioning phone with your google account
Is it really working? Bcoz a friend of mine got d same issue.

To unlock a stolen handset.
A genuine seller would be able and willing to unlock a phone they have sold with this feature enabled.

let's say you want to sell your phone one day. You have already registered your google account.
How would you un-register it on the device so as to sell it ?
Things have changed with MM as i understand.

You disable your screen lock before factory resetting the phone.
The factory reset protection only kicks in if the phone was factory reset with a screen lock still enabled (to stop someone stealing a phone, using recovery to wipe data, then selling it on).
I made this thread because one of the few caveats of the Idol 4/4S is the power-button placement. I got this idea from Damir Franc's video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUfyiSfo-wY) and just wanted to share it with you.
You can go to settings and set the boom key to turn on your device. Then you need an app called Standby Touch to configure the boom key to power off the display:

Help with Boom Key, please
I recently purchased the Alcatel Idol 4S and really like the phone, but HATE the fact that I keep hitting the boom key and enabling and camera. I'd like to re-map the button to something else - - I don't know how to get access to the ROM, but I am willing to learn. If someone can please tell what tools to download and what i need to do. I am somewhat technical, so with a little help, I am confident i can make the tweak. Thanks in advance!!
I'm trying to use Secret codes on my phone, it is rooted and I'm running 7.0
My screen got a pink line on the right side and some people recommend me using " *#0*# " however I cannot reach that menu.
I even tried to call that code but it doesn't work.
I tried installing these apps but No help,

Your display is bad. I had the same issue. You have to send it in. If you push on the g of the Samsung logo on the top of your screen it should go away for a little but then it will come back.

Yeah I know that, but I still want to reach and use secret codes tho
Go to /efs/carrier/HiddenMenu using root Explorer and edit the file and change OFF to ON and the code will work
