Hello,
Well this might be more a android question but I've been always told that taking screenshots on android had to be done this way http://www.altafsayani.com/2008/11/01/how-take-screenshots-of-an-android-phone/
And some minutes ago I turned off my wifi using touchwiz fast acces and I don't remeber what I was pressing but when I pressed home button it took a screenshot (attached)
So how can I take screenshot (can't find on google)
I'm on JP3
u can do it by pressing Back + Home button

ok thanks there no need for this thread anymore
Root it and just use ShootMe, shake your phone, it takes screenshot and puts it neatly in a dedicated folder.

if i press the home button nothing happens. is there any way to solve my problem (without losing any data?)
a coworker of mine had the same issue today. I'm just reposting the link from another website, since I typically come to xda to find answers to stuff like this... either manually type this into your ANDROID browser, or if you could somehow make it to this page from your phone, just click this link... from your phone lol
market://search?q=pnamerg.adw.launcher
it is the direct adwlauncher link to the android market!
hope this helps! =)

Then why not post in that thread?? No need to create a new thread if one already exists on your exact issue.
My Adam was very recently delivered, and I'm loving it already. I have one semi-gripe about it, though: the power switch is kind of annoying to click, and I often hold it too long and end up bringing up the power-down menu rather than putting the Adam to sleep. I recently installed the Beast Rom, and it claims to be able to rebind buttons, but I haven't found a way to rebind the hardware back button to wake / sleep.
Does anyone know of a way to do this?
You can change it in /system/build.prop
Just tested and it works. Also hated that power switch.

The BEAST rom is nice, can't wait to see it progress more.

If you have an app like Root Explorer simply navigate to /system folder, press "Mount R/W.", long press build.prop, Open in Text Editor, and change it from 'back' to 'power' here, save and exit, "Mount R/O", and reboot your device. I can't remember what the partitions are called on Adam so can't post a shell guide right now.

I have done this and can attest to it working on several ROMs. Related question: does anyone else have issues with button responsiveness? I have to push the button or switch at least twice to awaken my Adam from sleep. Also, when I wake up the Adam, I will frequently get the popup that ask if you want to shut down. Anyone else get this?

I've noticed that, but only when my Adam has been asleep for a long time. The power menu I've just taken to be a quirk of rebinding the button to power, since there is no sleep/wake only option.
i had the problem also before rebinding. Seems it just has a very short timeout before invoking the menu, whether its one button or the other. Not sure where the problem is thought since I haven't really experienced, or tested it on any other Adam Roms.

What about switching the PixelQi backlit
Guys,
I can see the options are 'back, power, home, menu, search, camera, call, endcall'. It'll be great to be able to bind the button to the pixelQi backlit switch. Anybody knows is that is possible?
Thanks!
I have a PixelQI 3G, the Search and Home button (#1 and #2 from top) not working now, I have tried to reset to default, flashed other ROM, ... but still unable to make it work back
You should try using Button Saviour from the market for onscreen buttons, it's pretty nice.
Hi, I want to unlock my device with search button so i edited the /system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.kl
its like that;
key 217 POWER WAKE_DROPPED
key 127 HOME WAKE_DROPPED
It is perfectly locks the screen but it doesnt unlock. I tried lots of settings but i couldnt done. What should i do? What should i change?
I'm not much into this stuff, but shouldn't the key code be the same in both lines ?
I've removed the dropped from both of the lines and now I can unlock the device. But I can't lock the device
There could be a code on Spare Parts that changes the function of the detach button or something related to CM settings.
Can anybody try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850464

One is for not sleeping mod and the other one is for sleeping mod i think. Both of them was the search button in default so i did it that way.

I've changed 'key 217' from SEARCH to POWER but it doesn't really behave as a POWER button after locking the screen.

I think there is a problem with search button function after locking the screen. I found that when im listening music then i lock the screen with search button and wait for 5-10 secs. then press the search button and the phone wakes up. So search button doesn't work properly when the phone is locked. So what we should do now?

The power button enables the device to sleep and to access the power menu (like reboot, power off, etc.). The method that is showed here of modifying other buttons to a power button only applies within the Android system.
Does anyone know how to lock the screen using the search button????

Currently we are capable of locking the device but the unlocking has a significant glitch or error.

MANUALLY:
On a root exploring app, go to '/system/usr/keylayout/'. Then find the file 'qwerty.kl' and then open it with a text editor. You'll see there are lots of information on it. Find the line that contains:
Code:
key 217 SEARCH
Change the SEARCH to POWER and then save the file.
Restart your phone and then done!
AUTOMATIC:
Install 'http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=467998&d=1292740886 (Credits to appelflap)
OR copy the 'qwerty.kl' file inside this to '/system/keylayout/usr'.
Slightly wet the button area, now the home button keeps triggering non stop. Everything else works fine.
Ive tried the following solutionsb
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/guide-oneplus-2-home-button-dead-t3324321
Phone is currently sitting in a bag of rice so let's see how that goes.
Meanwhile, can anybody think of a way to disable the home button (perhaps through terminal or something)? Because the phone would basically be usable.. I know there are button settings, so if only I could somehow put home button as "no action".

The thing is the constant pressing of home button makes me not able to navigate anywhere.
The only place I can actually do something is in recovery, because the home button doesn't actually do anything.
If there's a way I can enable it in terminal in recovery mode that would be great.

Hope the moisture dries out and your fingerprint reader starts working normally
Tip of advice for everyone who has problems with the fingerprint reader after it got wet or started to get crazy for any weird reasons at all.
Drain the phone battery until it dies. Then try to boot it up to drain even the last power in it.
Then recharge the phone.
By draining the battery and recharghing it you reset the phone's sensors.
Be lucky some of you aren't living in a country like me where the weather is moist all the time. I had to do this method thrice this week ??
