I think I bricked my phone I can't get into download mode or anything the only thing I can do is go into the hardware control mode and the factory reset mode when I try to factory reset it scrolls on the top right something about boot certification then it disappears and i get a black backlit screen and can do nothing. Anyone have an idea how i can fix this issue

So as the title says i currently have MIUI 1.6.10 demonSPEED v1.1 ROM and it is not booting, just completely unresponsive to everything i could think of. Im just throwing this out there to see if this has happened to anyone before or if there is a way of fixing this issue. I don't believe it has anything to do with thederekjay's rom just some unfortunate event. Anyway i fear it is possibly bricked and that i am gonna have to shell out the $150 to get a new mt4g from the insurance. Details follow...
So have had this rom for about a week now and has been working great. However this morning i was on the browser reading the news and it became unresponsive. After i let its display turn off (i just left it alone) i used the track pad to wake it. It was slow but it did show me the lock screen. When i attempted to unlock with a swipe down i felt the vibrations but the slide lock didn't budge. I then tapped the power button to turn the display off and tapped the power button once again to turn it on but nothing, just stayed black. I tried a soft reset by removing the battery, placing it back in, and powering back up. When i did so the t-mobile mytouch 4g boot image w/ the white background came on then went to an android image (lighting up a through d, looping) but then it just remained at the android image for five minutes! So i tried a soft reset again but the same thing would happen, act like it was gonna boot up completely but then gets stuck at the android image. So then i tried removing the battery and booting into recovery (via power, vol down, trackpad) that time the t-mobile mytouch 4g image would appear but after that the screen went black and after that every attempt with either the soft reset or boot into recovery wouldn't do anything at all, just a black screen as if the battery wasn't in at all. Its been like that all day and i can't figure it out so if anyone knows some info i would greatly appreciate it thanx
This thing is a month old and I really hope I can find a way to fix it. It is rooted so I doubt I can get a replacement...
I've seen other people with screen malfunctions where it shows weird colors after booting, but mine shows nothing. The Samsung boot animation doesn't show, nor does the ATT boot logo (although the sound plays). I can still use my phone by guessing where to touch and everything works fine.
Are there apps that can (with super user access) somehow disable the screen?
Is there a way to factory reset without being able to see what is on the screen? I tried the "Volume Up + Volume Down + Home", but the screen doesn't show anything.
Finally, is there a way to reset the ATT Galaxy S4 via Kies? I haven't been able to find one.
I'm guessing this has to be hardware since the boot logo doesn't show. Surely even if an app disabled the screen, it wouldn't be running before the logo appeared.

If the boot logo doesn't show (not the boot animation, but the very first logo when you first power on and it vibrates) then it's hardware. If the screen goes out after that like at the boot animation, then it could be that you messed up or something messed up a system file. This happened to me when I didn't set the permissions on my build.prop, it gave me black screen with blue LED and simply fixing the permissions in Safestrap fixed it.

hi there everyone, i have verizon variant of the s7 edge. yesterday my screen started to shutter when in an app and the eventually would go black, although the phone would still be on because the back and recent apps buttons on the bottom would still be lit. ive read on line and watched videos saying to do a hard reboot, didnt work. as of now it is completey black nothing will show. the lcd still works becasue the boot animation will still show. i am not able to get into recovery more or download mode. but i am able to get into maintance mode, ive tried a factory reset through maintance mode and didnt work the phone would just boot into the black screen. the phone is completely stock, no root or anything. Any help is appreciated.
Try to use smart switch and do an emergency software recovery.
Also, what does it do when you try to get into download mode?
When i try to get into download mode by using volume down, home button, and power, nothing happens its another black screen. Was hoping I could get into download mode to try to reflash the stock firmware. Also I can't use smart switch app because the screen is completely black when I turn it on.
So i was using my phone today, i havent made any changes to anything in a couple weeks. Its not rooted or anything, purely stock. turned on the screen to check my email and i got the system ui crash popup. Every time I hit ok, the window goes away but immediately comes right back. So I tried holding the power button to bring up the power menu to reboot but just as i see the little white orbs appear they are gone and the system UI crash window comes up again, so i pulled the battery.
Now when i turn it on, i get a black screen. The 2nd screen shows up slowly but it shows up, the rest of the screen is black. In a darker room i can see the screen light up when i hit the power button and go away after.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Have you tried a factory reset??
Before considering to do factory reset, can you go to fastboot mode? If you can, then access fastboot mode, and use adb to clear the cache of the phone. It is possible that some of your apps might affect your phone in such a way that is cause that black out. Cleaning the cache should help.
If you dont know the command for your phone, input:
fastboot erase cache
Thanks for the responses! After some google searching i was able to figure out how to get into recovery and fastboot and everything. I tried to erase the cache but still had the same issue.
Following that I did a factory reset and now everything appears to be working correctly, but there is noticeably more lag with everything.
I did some benchmarks which appear to match the scores i've found everywhere for this phone so i dont think anything wonky with the hardware is happening, but the OS is definitely lagging quite a bit. Im going to send my phone off tomorrow for repair that I requested through LG. The camera cover has also fallen off of my phone.
same with my v20.. i think is something related to the cpu/motherboard itself...
Im having a very strange problem, my screen just stopped working. The only thing that show up is the always on display which works fine in any position on the screen. Ive tried hard resetting it by holding the power and home button, and it does reset but not even the boot logo is shown. Ive also tried entering download mode and the recovery mode but the result is the same ...blank screen. To this point i haven't had any problems with the screen even though the digitizer is cracked. So because the always on display shows up im convinced the screen works, so my next logical conclusion was that my main gpu is fried. Is there a way i could test it without the screen? I know there's a gpu test in the recovery mode menu but i cant read the results.

My device is also not rooted but ive managed to adb connect to it and download my data. And with adb i also have the ability to mirror the screen to my computer but the phone has to be fully turned on and connected to the network so recovery mode is out of the option ...at least to my knowledge.
I would appropriate any suggestions on how to diagnose it and maybe fix the issue.
