Hi guys,
As you know I'm fairly new here. I just want to ask if (as far as I've read) based on this POST http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498850, I'm running a Baseband Version of N9005XXUDMJ7. It says here that if I root, I will trip Knox but I won't be upgrading. Just rooting. If I continue with this process will I trip Knox?
AP: N9005XXUDMJ7
CP: N9005XXUDMJ7
CSC: N9005OLBDMJ2

You are altering system files, you will trip Knox... Doesn't matter that you're not changing rom.
If you were, as long as it was a stock firmware and the right bootloader, you wouldn't trip Knox...

What do you a stock firmware? I would get my firmware from sammobile. So what you're saying is that if I just root I'll trip Knox. But if I change my rom I won't?
So I should just follow the video on RDLV?
Sorry. Running a celeron processor of a brain here. -_-

De la Vega says: "If you are running MJ4, MJ7, MK1, MK2 or higher you can still root, but you will trip KNOX!"
Your firmware is MJ7 so you will trip Knox.
As you are on MJ7 it would be easier to just flash cf-autoroot... You will trip knox but easier to use.
You would trip Knox anyway and there's more steps using URDLV...
On the other hand if you want a different region rom on your Note 3 then you can pretty much just pick and flash a stock rom (as long as the new bootloader is in it) with no fear of tripping Knox....
Just don't think you can go back to MI7 or MJ1 to use URDLV to root without tripping Knox as they have the old bootloader that will see you boot looping until you reflash a newer version of stock rom with the new bootloader.

How does the Knox flag behave in case of downgrading FW? I have N9005 and would like to upgrade FW to latest unbranded FW with Odin. What happens if I want to downgrade to older version of FW (all including knox)? My carrier unfortunately seldomly updates FW but I will need to downgrade in case of warranty need... Currently I run AP: XXUBMJ1 and CSC: MOTBMJ1. Would downgrade trip Knox flage?
Who knows?
want to know what the best way is to root a SM-N9005
PDA N9005XXUDMJ7
CSC N9005OXXDMJ4
MODEM N9005XXUDMJ7
KNOX 0X0 ( want to keep it this way )
I've not rooted mine yet, but this seems like the easiest method https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otnFcCctbhU#t=344
As far as im aware, theres no way to root without tripping knox.
CF autoroot always gets the job done for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423 but will trigger knox
...
Atm there is no solution
URDLV only for AP <= MJ3.

Then is it possible to downgrade from 4.4.2 to 4.3?
Also, when it says "If you are running MJ4, MJ7, MK1, MK2 or higher you can still root, but you will trip KNOX!", what are the ones that can be rooted without tripping KNOX? (How are these ordered?)
I quite don't get it..
What is AP and CSC?

4.4.2'(kitkat) has locked bootloader wich WILL trip knox flag.
Only 4.3 (jelly bean) can 'safely' be rooted.
AP means access point a lot of things (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AP).
Dont think @vndnguyen meant access point.
So he might need another abbreviation as we don't want to get confused.
@HanZie82: when I say AP I implied the one in his previous post. In this case it means PDA version.
@randomid4: As I've said, with AP (PDA) <= MJ3 you can root without tripping Knox. It means if AP = MI3, MI7, MJ1, MJ3 you can use URDLV. And this method is not useful with AP = MJ4, MJ7, MK1, MK2... etc
Hi, people. I just changed my s3 with a s4 lte on second hand. I read a lot of thing about this phone and i find out that my phone has the knox tripped to 0x1..
Here's the question: can be it rooted?/if yes, what is the best root for it?(chinese/superSU) What are the consequences for my tripped knox?
My firmware is GNG8/Security software MDF v1.0 release 2
Android: 4.4.2 (stock rom)

1. Yes with CF-Auto-Root. Im using it and works perfect.
2. Consequences.... Well. The theory tell that you lost the warranty... but reality is different. Depends in what store warranty is void or no for fix your phone
Is it possible to switch the CSC of a phone without tripping knox? My S7 is from spain, and I need to switch to norwegian csc (NEE). Can I simply just flash the norwegian firmware with Odin, or is it more complicated than that?
yes, it is possible to switch the csc of a phone without tripping knox.
As long it is an official stock firmware, you will have no problems.
Only if you play around with the bootloader, you risk tripping knox.
