How does the Knox flag behave in case of downgrading FW? I have N9005 and would like to upgrade FW to latest unbranded FW with Odin. What happens if I want to downgrade to older version of FW (all including knox)? My carrier unfortunately seldomly updates FW but I will need to downgrade in case of warranty need... Currently I run AP: XXUBMJ1 and CSC: MOTBMJ1. Would downgrade trip Knox flage?
Who knows?

Hello .. sorry for my English.
I have GT-i9500 which i updated to official 4.3 Russian firmware ( KNOX enabled) . As i live in Pakistan, the official firmware (4.3) for Pakistan is available now. My question is can i update my Russian firmware to Pakistan firmware through ODIN with out triggering the knox counter or bricking my phone? Thanks in advance
Hi
You can upgrade from one Knox enabled firmware to another but cannot downgrade as it will trigger the Knox flag.
I, personally, moved from the German stock MJ5 to the British stock MJ7 and the flag wasn't triggered.
Good luck.
Hi guys,
As you know I'm fairly new here. I just want to ask if (as far as I've read) based on this POST http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498850, I'm running a Baseband Version of N9005XXUDMJ7. It says here that if I root, I will trip Knox but I won't be upgrading. Just rooting. If I continue with this process will I trip Knox?

You are altering system files, you will trip Knox... Doesn't matter that you're not changing rom.
If you were, as long as it was a stock firmware and the right bootloader, you wouldn't trip Knox...

What do you a stock firmware? I would get my firmware from sammobile. So what you're saying is that if I just root I'll trip Knox. But if I change my rom I won't?
So I should just follow the video on RDLV?
Sorry. Running a celeron processor of a brain here. -_-

De la Vega says: "If you are running MJ4, MJ7, MK1, MK2 or higher you can still root, but you will trip KNOX!"
Your firmware is MJ7 so you will trip Knox.
As you are on MJ7 it would be easier to just flash cf-autoroot... You will trip knox but easier to use.
You would trip Knox anyway and there's more steps using URDLV...
On the other hand if you want a different region rom on your Note 3 then you can pretty much just pick and flash a stock rom (as long as the new bootloader is in it) with no fear of tripping Knox....
Just don't think you can go back to MI7 or MJ1 to use URDLV to root without tripping Knox as they have the old bootloader that will see you boot looping until you reflash a newer version of stock rom with the new bootloader.
My phone went off for repair, and now that Ive got it back its got Three UK branded firmware on it!
Rather than waiting two weeks for it to be sent back, I want to change the firmware myself.
I now have:
AP: N9005XXUDMJ6
CP: N9005XXUDMJ4
CSC: N9005H3GDMJ2
Bootloader N9005XXUDMJ6
I did have:
AP: N9005XXUBMJ1
CP: N9005XXUBMI6
CSC: N9005OXXBMJ1
I know I cant go back to the MJ1 build (I wish I could), but I do want to go back to a stock UK CSC (I know OXX is a stock Cyprus CSC).

Make sure the phone you've received after repairing is the one you've had before.
If it is them same phone I think you can flash your original firmware, including AP, CP and CSC.

- Your Knos is still 0x0?
- I didnt mean you can flash MJ1 over current MJ6. However you can flash MJ7 and higher (original firmware, with original region). I'm not sure if you can keep Knox at 0x0.

Hi my note 3 version n9005 has the following ap:
AP :N9005XXUBMHL
CP :N9005XXUBMHK
CSC :N9005OXABMHL
I could not find any information about this version, or anywhere to download it as a backup. In Kies region code is BTU so I found out that it is for Uk and Ireland. I found the firmwares for UK on samfirmware and it appears that the first released version is MI7.
Is my version a test firmware? I cannot get updates neither in kies or ota to MI7 or MJ1 and so on.
Is it safe to flash to MI7 with odin 3.09? Will it trip knox? If I succesfully update to MI7 will I be able to root with de la veda and preserve knox 0x0?
Does anyone else have this firmware? I've only seen very few people bring it up.
How can I dump my rom in order to have it as backup if flashing goes wrong? I'm not rooted.
Hey Guys!
I am on the Polish official Lollipop Rom, rooted with Knox 0x0. Because of random reboots caused by the old bootloader I want to sell my phone. I need to unroot and install another stock rom (same version, but with the branding my phone had). I have often read "flashing original firmware does not trigger knox" and my guess is I can propably unroot with supersu, uninstall all the root apps, reactivate all the knox apps and flash the complete rom (including the much needed bootloader of course) and be on the save site.
Since I have lived with Knox for 1 year now (and thats enough for a lifetime), coming all the way from DeLaVega, I just want to be sure I do not trigger it afterall. So please tell me, is it safe or could the old bootloader be problem when flashing with odin for example?
Current:
Bootloader: N9005XXUENA6
CSC: N9005XEOGBOA4
PDA: N9005XXUGBOA5
Kernel: 3.4.0-3643614
The one I need to flash:
PDA: N9005XXUGBOA5
CSC: N9005VFGGBOA2
Thank you so much for any help!
