hi has anyone else noticed an orange hue to the white in google chrome on the galaxy note 3?
I only noticed this today and im not sure if chrome has updated or not because I have auto updates on and tend to swipe away app update notifications without checking them.
thanks

Nope - fine with me.
Try settings -> display -> untick auto adjust screen tone
Maybe Reader-Mode is enabled (for Chrome)? It's turning white into more of a yellowish-white.
all white colour on the note 3 turns a little yellow in dark places somehow

anyone having screen flickering issue. it happens when you calls up the keyboard on stock browser, dolphin browser, gmail app, play store, mainly app with white background. it happens for very short period of time but only noticeable on white background.
what do you think is it software issue or hardware.
edit: turn the brightness down then on stock browser get a white page then try to get keyboard by touching search bar you won't miss it.

I have it too on i9500.. Ive been wondering why no one reported this.
It's software. I have read the I9500/I9505 aren't the only phones it happens on.

happens to mine too, im from tmobile forums. Def a software issue
Not only that but the hue of the screen changes too.
It's very subtle and most people probably won't recognise it but the screen goes from having a magenta cast to a green cast and back again when keyboard is toggled.
I only noticed this when I was watching a black and white you tube clip, I touched the screen to bring up the pause button and as the menu came up the screen changed hue then when I clicked it again and the menu went the screen hue changed back.
Very weird!
agree..
I noticed the same thing after a couple of days. Really annoying and I'm hoping for a quick fix!
Ive noticed when going from the home screen to the browser my screen goes a little dimmer and when I go back to the home it brightens back up also it does this on some apps.
I was wondering what could make it do that ? Auto is off and the brightness is all the way up .
im running mint jelly with fuax123 kernel .
Did you turn auto brightness off in the browser settings also?

Some apps have their own 'auto brightness setting'. Check the apps settings which are causing the fluctuation and see if there is a brightness setting.

I don't know about apps but open your browser and press the menu button, there you will see brightness. If its on auto, that is your problem.

K I checked that and its off also the apps and I couldn't find any with a brightness setting . It seems like the apps just dim a little and cant really tell if it goes back when going home but all the browsers have a slite dim its kinda like a fade and when exiting its like a instant back where it was . Hard to explain I guess.
Auto adjust screen tone under display settings turn it off and it will be fine.

Hey guys
I got a question regarding the notification light.
1.When I get messages on KiK the light keeps green(it won't flash it just stays green the whole time till unlock) is this normal?
2.When I get messages on whatsapp the light is white and blinks, but when I go to the whatsapp settings and set it to green it won't blink when recieving a message. Why is this?
3.Is there a way to see the unlock circle or lock before typing my pin? Like when I wake up the phone I will first need to move my finger on the screen THEN I can type my pass.
Thanks in advance for your help!

1. I believe this is normal for kik on Nexus 4, but a solid light is weird. Don't know why, though I've seen this happen with kik on other N4s.
2. Could be that kik is interfering with the LED settings? Do you have lightflow installed which could be interfering as well?
Try contacting the devs for kik can whatsapp, they could probably help you out as well.
3. Currently, no, not with the default lockscreen. You can do this with a third party lockscreen however, such as go locker or MiLocker.

Thanks vorbatello for the clear answers
I have the same problem with whatsapp even when kik isn't installed. I also havent installed lightflow.
I'll just contact the devs I think, good idea.
Thanks again!
Another question:
When I recieve an email(gmail) the led doesn't blink or light up at all, i've read that others also havr this, is this normal?

Try using light flow to Control the notification leds...
And for the swipe screen... Try widget locker... Its awesome

I was just customizing my toggles and noticed something not there? Is the Galaxy Not 3 missing the Adjust Brightness toggle?
EDIT: Sorry, blonde moment It's a slider in the pulldown notification thing
Settings->device->notification panel->brightness adjustment->check it

Lol - the infamous mortification panel
You have to enable it in Settings>notification bar if you want it to remain visible as opposed to hidden under a swipe.

still don't have it. have this option checked but no slider, even reboot didn't help.
it seems like it's disappearing when my battery is low (had 3%)

Yes, when the battery hits 5% the screen dims by itself and the brightness slider disappears.

Could be a power saving feature to adjust browser backgrounds. You can try disabling that in the settings menu, under Display I believe. Or perhaps the colour temperature mode, also under the Settings > Display heading. Look for screen mode and choose Cinema instead of standard to get more faithful colours.

I have it on adapt display, could that be causing this?

Why speculate, when it would be so easy to find out? Choose Cinema and see if it makes a difference..

Ok so the display is working fine in all the other screen settings, adapt display is the only one where I see this issue.
