I loved pa on Google nexus 7 gen 1 but now I shifted to tegra note 7 . I know It's hard to get any rom or custom kernel for this device but I would love to see pa if someone can port it to this device.

The kernel is not even open sourced as yet, Even with me spamming the hell out of the Nvidia E-mail system.

Hello,
This is coming from a complete noob so please ignore my ignorance, but does anyone see the nexus 7 dual booting Jelly bean with Windows 8, Windows Phone 7, ICS or even iOS (bootdroid) in the future?
Umm why would you ever want ics on a device that released with jb? And windows/ios ports would be somewhat illegal plus you would run the risk of your n7 wanting to commit suicide... lol

Windows 8, definitely not. That one requires an UEFI firmware with locked-down secure boot.
Windows 7 +8 for sure not.
Ubuntu will be possible in the future

Being able to boot ICS & GB would be useful if you're a dev & want to test your app on different versions.
Kinda moot since the N7 will never have an official ICS... if you want to test multi-OS you can for less money get something like a Nook Color that has perfectly working CM7, (almost 100% working) CM9 and (in the works) CM10 which you can very easily set as multiboot. Testing any N7-specific features in ICS is useless.
Hey guys, I'm sort of not too new to rooting now I guess. Started with a Samsung Moment, Nook Color, Evo Shift, and EVO 3D. Anyway, I really loved the Cyanogen nightlies for the Nook Color. It was really stable and had a lot of options in terms of using emulators and all the Android software options. I'm waiting for my Nexus 7 to come in and I would really like to know what you guys are using and if any of you have Cyanogen and what you think about it compared to the Nook Color in terms of stability. If any of you have a Rom that you prefer I'd like to here about that too. Thanks!
The stock ROM is so smooth.

Haha, Kristen Bell mod, awesome
For me, CM10 works great. I've been using Paranoid Android (CM10 based) and it's just awesome. Stock is very good, but I highly recommend getting Paranoid Android for all its extra perks.
I'll look into Paranoid too then, Google is my friend.
Hey guys , I am going to attempt to port rasbean from the nexus 7 to the kindle fire. Is there any interest ? In case you didn't know rasbean is an amazing galaxy nexus and nexus 7 ROM. So... is there any interest in me doing this? I would like to know if there is

Yes, please port. The kindle needs more roms. If you are in need of help or a tester let me know I'd be glad to help could you post a link to the rasbean I wanna see what this is. And if it's ok, to make a PERSONAL port for me and if I succeed and you have problems I could give you a hand. Cheers

No problem.
This is a link to the nexus 7 thread. I took some screenshots from my rasbean galaxy nexus, which are themed the same

Ooh hopefully there's a 4.1.2 release... This is 4.2.1--KFire Kernel isn't updated enough for that. I tried and I got the Netd 1.0 starting boot loop

Thai is what it will be. Hash code gave me permission to use his aosp ROM as a base, so it will be a hybrid between his and rascarlos basically

Okay. Do you know what the base ROM is for rascarlos?
It is aosp based, with a blue and black theme.

Okay thanks good luck
No problem. Testing first build

Tell us how it goes when you're done I only got a partial build to boot, then I stopped for a bit
Porting may be easier with the release of hashcode's aosp 4.2.1_r1
I'M wondering is it possible for a dev to make an ice cream rom based off 4.1 not 4.2. I really liked that a little better in my opinion. My imobster game just isn't the same on jelleybean as it was on ice cream. any thoughts?
I can't for the life of me think of why you would want ICS over jb but I think your luck is probably out. As I really can't see a dev taking the time to make a worse ROM. Sorry! Are you sure your game just hasn't been optimised for the n4?

I feels you dude.
I saw this post hours ago but I didn't even know how to respond to this. Lol
The only thing I could think of was the application itself was performing badly.
Not to mention that 4.1 is jelly bean and not I've cream sandwich
OP bought a future phone and yet he wants run something from the past . Do not expect any ICS ports for N4. That imobster game is something...
ics
Thanks for informing me I kinda figured it wasn't possible. Now don't get me wrong 4.2 is an awesome OS but I play this game imobster and we have a thing we call spam attack when you can attack someone 10 in one sec and JB just will not let me do that so I'm still playing it on my HTC ice cream based ROM but I take my nexus 4 with me too and just change sim cards back and forth. Lol I've flashed every ROM the N4 has I think and I just can't find one that suits the need of the game.I'm a nexus junkie and a imobster junkie and have owned the first one through the last one well I still own nexus one but got rid of the other ones until N4 came along but I just wish storm8 the maker of the game would optimize it for jellybean. Thanks all. Anymore ROM suggestions?
There's probably a way with a lg optimus conversion.. but it's a bit of a brick risk
This is the most hardcore hipster request I've ever seen on XDA.
Now if what you're really after is just the look of ICS, there are CM themes that do that pretty well.
Maybe try a Galaxy nexus ICS ROM with a N4 kernel? Not sure if that will work but if you make a nandroid I'm sure you will be fine

The conversion is Optimus --> N4. Not the other way around.

ICS and JB are 99% identical in terms of looks. Someone on the Galaxy Nexus forums asked for Gingerbread once.

NO. You should NEVER flash something ROM or Kernel related that's not for your device.

Hello all,
My GF is getting the Nexus 4 soon and I was hoping to improve the phone as much as possible for her once it arrives. I used to have a Galaxy Nexus running Franco Kernel and Android Revolution which ended up being a beastly combo. I'm hoping something similar exists for the Nexus 4... Awesome battery life with an improved, but still stock, ROM.
Any suggestions?
Well the Nexus 4 is pure vanilla. So i would say stay stock with Franco kernel
But I would recommend Cyanogenmod + Franco kernel
