Could you check your phones and tell me if you have different tints in left bottom corner and right bottom corner? You can see that on white background or transparent black background. Tint in the left bottom corner is more blue and in the right more yellow. Maybe it is connected with little backlight bleeding in right bottom corner? I hope you understand me.
I have found the exact same issue on mine (noticed it the second I received it in the mail and powered it on). Most noticeable when your on screen buttons are white or you have a gray keyboard, the left half being blue tinted. I'm going to try a replacement this week and see if it's any better, but it looked like a store model had the same issue. Attached is a pic in which you can make out the subtle blue tint in the upper left corner of the photo creeping its way along the edge of the phone.

I'll report back when I have a replacement. Otherwise, this screen has much better calibration than the display units and is less blue overall.
Replace with warranty.

Have a black replacement on the way. I tried to get a white one as Verizon released it after the black version in hopes of getting a newer display batch, but the guy wouldn't do it. I'll post an update on Friday or Monday when I receive it.

And?
I have the same, but for me it's more a yellow tint on the top that blue on the bottom
It's visible when you have your keyboard on, while in vertical mode. The left of the keyboard is yellowish. I had the same thing with Z1, so maybe it's a "thing" with LCDs ? ;p

The replacement exhibited the same behavior to a lesser extent. However, it also has a huge spot of dead pixels, so I'm waiting for another replacement . I think the blue at the bottom is a panel design flaw but the gradient at the bottom from left to right varies from unit to unit.

Just have noticed that new units have much better screen in them! Look at the pictures. New screen doesn't change color while viewing under different angles and it dimms instead of turning off! Looks like screen on new Artemis units! Red is red on new units, doesn't have this pink hue.

Seems that HTC has replaced the buggy screens on new devices
Can you post the first 3 digits of the Serial Number from both devices in the pictures?
631 - left
636 - right
now I'm pissed
There is no way for me to tell by just the picture but I think I have the better screen.
I have serial 628 so you would think that it would have the bad screen, then again I am basing it off a picture.
On the other hand, maybe HTC was using the good screens then got a better deal on these other ones, and now is switching back? Because I have not had the alignment issues everyone else speaks of (THANK GOD, I feel for you guys I really do. You see the flip out touch screen in my car acts up and it drives me INSANE!)
So chalk up another inconclusive and basically useless post for me!
Later, Lew
I have a 628 and from the picture I would have to say I am with you lew. My reds look red and I also have not had the alignment issue. My keyboard just sucks!
come to think of it my red looks red too and I haven't had the screen alignment problem.... yet
dude are you using a screen protector on any of those tytn's or both ? same type ?
mine is 628 too
Mines a 632... have screen alignment probs but have disappeared for almost a month. But if their giving out better screens il get it sent for repair
I have a 628 too.
And my red looks red (just like the one on the right).
Never had the aligment issue. I've bought mine as soon as it got in stores.
Nick
What do you mean your keyboard sucks?
I have not had any issues with it yet (knocks on wood, REALLY)
but I think you got yours first. What problems do you have?
When closed the left side of my TyTN is very loose, that is a US quarter. Also it the keyboard is really loose when locking into place either closed or open.

I've got the same issue too!
I have a 635, and my screen looks exactly the same as the 636 and dims aswell.
Cept for the I have issues with several keys not working properly. If you press it in a specific angle, the button doesn't respond.
This is mainly on my 'A' button...

When I have received my (black) G1, I figured it looked better than in commercials and photos online, but at first I couldn't understand why. And the it hit me: call, home, back, & end were all white instead of red and green.

Is this the difference between the US and th UK versions? Can you please state what country you're in and if your buttons are colored or single-color.
I'm in the US and I have a G1 from a Tmo store the day of release and I have the green and red buttons.
I wonder why did they decide to manufacture two different sets of keys. Shouldn't that be more expensive? Though we also have a pound sign, so I guess couple buttons here or there don't change much.
I've seen a few videos of the UK G1 and it seems it also has a glossy finish for the keyboard while the U.S. version has the same finish as the exterior of the phone. Can anyone confirm this is true?
Yep, UK version has glossy finish.
maybe the white keys is for testing and comercial phone, for user almost phone have green and red

Is the difference Black vs. Bronze? The one picture with the red/green buttons is Bronze. I also have Bronze and red/green buttons.
Interesting as UK users didn't even have an option for bronze. Only black or white.
US T-Mobile users only black or bronze.
Mine is US, Bronze and keys are red, white and green.
It is quite normal for this practice... although I don't understand why as the devices are exactly the same if I am not mistaken. Usually you see differences so people can tell that one is using a different band.
I have a UK G1.
My start and end call buttons are white and my keyboard background is piano black along with the menu key and the border that seperates the front and the back of the phone.

Hi there guys,
Currently using a i9505 in the UK, I think thats the right model, it's the Snapdragon model anyway. I recently installed the stability update that fixes that lines smudging in the settings menu, however I am experiencing a slightly stranger issue. Now I cannot tell you if the issue was here before or after the update, I have only had the phone for 2 days and when I got it home it had the update read to install.
Basically, if I open the messaging application the background appears to be "dirty". I know this sounds weird, and it's honestly the hardest thing to describe. Towards the outside of the handset it almost looks like there is backlight leak the the left and right, in the centre there are just lines running up and down, there is an obvious almost texture inside the display almost.
It is only visible in the pitch black, but also if I then click a thread and go into the messaging thread it isn't visible no more. Just to make it clear, on black black this does not appear, it's only on the backgrounds that are like one less than black if that makes sense -_- Is this going to be a future issue, or is it nothing?

Hi. this is a global issue. basically on the areas that is black, LEDs are off, and when you scroll the screen and bring some other colors on the areas that are black the LED take some time to show the correct color and at first, colors appears as purple. this is the smearing issue that Samsung has fixed. but Samsung has fixed it by making the LEDs not to turn off on the black areas by adding some white in black areas, and it only works in Samsung apps, like the messaging and setting. but for some reason all LEDs don't become brighter in the same amount and the screen looks unevenly grey and black. but only in samsung apps. if you look at a completely black part of screen in a third-party app you'd see that its perfectly black. unless you use screen adjuster app to fix smearing in other apps too. if so in every black display, the dirtiness would show up.
and by the way, its a problem with phone's screen, so if you look at the same thing on another display nothing will be seen. just like the screenshot you made, the issue is not visible here.

hi there im a new user of this lg G2 (D802) have used it for 6 days, i've noticed some weird vertical lines on my screen, but its not like the others describe about the digitizer with the dotted thingy like that..
the digitizer image G2 left N5 right

To get an idea what it looks like, it looks similar to the Steam icon background
but its vertical on my g2.. while the digitizer thing is dotted and rectangle and the dotted thing in the digitizer is a bit spacy while my vertical lines is not that spacy like the digitizer one. its like in this digitizer picture in the rectangle thing,, in the mid of the rectangle thing add a new vertical lines, it looks really like the steam background image but its vertical. sorry its hard to describe it, english is not my 1st language and dont have a good camera to the pict
update::
it really look like this
but vertical and the color is greyish black , a bit visible (indoor) while screen showing white, grey, light blue , light yellow color. visible when i use the phone outdoor + bright sun + tilting the phone
update:::
a pic in attachment.
what i mean by vertical line on my g2 is it looks like the pic in the attachment (the pic is xperia sp screen)
anyone?
Don't all IPS displays have those?
That is perfectly normal. My G2 is exactly like that
Really? this is normal?.. I see these fine translucent black lines everywhere on my g2 and the whole screen looks somewhat like cross-section paper, when im looking at bright colours, especially white.. and especially when I'm in a dark room. Sometimes i think it's a photoshop effect, but then i realize it's just my screen.. i don't understand how everyone says that this screen is sharp and clear, when clearly its not? my old 4s and nexus 4 and 5 of friends didn't have this at all! Actually i have never seen this on any smartphone yet.
Ok, so i returned my G2 and got a new one, which doesn't has this anymore! (at least it's hardly visible and you'd have to stare at it for some time) I'm happy with it (the false model was a 311K, the new one is 402K, if anyone wants to know..)
Not too sure if this is on the screen protector its self but I just noticed that my screen has a white "ghost" looking spot on the screen. It doesn't show on the screen unless I tilt the phone a certain way and it will only show up unless I'm holding in a certain way and when the screen is all black, for example on the LG logo.
Has this happened before to anyone before or do you think it's just my screen protector? (I'm scared to take it off because it's in the middle of the screen and if I do mess up the screen protector it would have been a huge waste of $ because the SP is expensive [special protector from japan])
(It seems like the white ghost only shows up in a black screen, other colors are fine and the spot does not show?)

Wow I didn't know anyone else had this. I noticed I have this spot on my screen and it's seems like it's a bugged pixel or smthing. It's not from the screen protector.

The weird thing on mine when I use a dead pixel fixing app from the market and I change the colour to like red or green or any colour that isn't black the white spot doesn't show at all. But when I switch to a black colour I can see the spot.
Does this happen to you?
İ have same problem as this description. İ can see the ghost spot brigt black colour.. Anyone knows what is it
I have it too, however I don't see it during normal operation so it doesn't bug me that much. With how big it is though, I don't believe it to be a pixel. Possible defect in the screens maybe?
I replace my screen and digitizer about 4w ago and now i have spotted those dots on the screen. Like those are higlighting where they thouch. Anyone finding fix or do i have to replace my screen again?

Did either of you find a fix, or did it get any worse? Just noticed this in last week. Not too annoying but not great, especially when out of warranty!
