Hello Guys this is my first post here and i have a solution to have Stock Android 4.3 with Full Root and LB !!!!
Before you start an important tip from me if you are on a 4.3 Firmware you must first install a firmware 14.1.G.2.257 of your region
because if you install for example 14.1.G.1.534 you will lose your baseband !!!
1. Install Firmware 14.1.G.1.534 (14.1.G.2.257 for downgrading and save baseband if you are on 4.3 than 14.1.G.1.534 for the root process ) on Flashtool.
2. Enable USB Debugging and root your device with Kingo root
3. Save your TA partition with this tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598)
4. Save root with the app Android Root toolkit v2.6 (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sa.root.toolkit&hl=de)
5. Install the OTA Update 4.3 from sony update center
6. Restore root with the Android Root toolkit from step 4
7. Now unlock your bootloader (before please safe your sd card because all will be deleted) and flash with fastboot Doomlords Kernel or some of these kernels (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2573921)
8. Download these Supersu zip (http://download.chainfire.eu/372/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.86.zip) and copy it to your Z1 and install it via twrp recovery (vol down on phone start)
9. Download the right 4.3 FTF of your region (for me it was central europe) and install only kernel via flashtool (you dont must wipe anything so uncheck Appslog, Data, Cache)
10. Go in flashtool to BLU and check if you must relock your bootloader if it shows relock than do it
11. Now you can restore your ta partition with the tool from step 3
Now you have a full rooted 4.3 device its little bit complicated but the result is amazing
You said in the beginning with locked bootloader and at the end we have to unlock?
Sorry, but this guide is useless...

No you must only unlock to flash a kernel with recovery because to flash super su. On the end you relock the bootloader and flash stock kernel and ta backup back.
Ehm there is one thing i could not believe... Does xposed work? Do you have rw on System with this method?

The Problem is that during unlocking, Sony lists the IMEI and will potentially refuse warranty. I think, exspecially with the all the problems like touchscreen problem atm, a lot of owners of this device don't want to risk this. At least this applies to me. Maybe I will unlock later, but only if it is clear that the touchscreen problem is a software issue and fixed or if a repair center has solved this issue for me.
If unlocking the bootloader were an option, I would simply flash a 4.3 based ROM with integrated full root.
IRequesting Unlock Code does not break Warranty...... I can grab your IMEI and can request the unlock code on sony page without youve touched anything. Only with broken trimm area at locked and on unlocked bootloader they would supsend warranty.
Further i still did not see an fully prerooted ftf.

Meet

You don't need a prerooted FTF. E.g. look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2579270.
Maybe, requesting unlock code will not void warranty, but I don't want to try this out. First I want to make sure that my phone is completely ok on the hardware side.
The question is, will it mount system as rw?
I didn't found anything related to RIC in all this stuff...

I doubt that too.
But check step 9 again, he doesn't really flash the system nor the. 290 firmware fully. He only flashed the kernel. Which is not ideal to me.

Do not follow this guide... You will lose warranty after this homemade guide. Just avoid this. NUT and Monx already achieved full root on locked bl. Just visit their threads.

-Sony Xperia Z (with unlocked bootloader)
-SuperSU (Download)
-Custom Recovery (Click Here(it's by DooMLoRD))
-Fastboot (Download)
Preparation:
1. Download all files.
2. Extract the "Fastboot.zip".
3. Extract the "boot.img" from the "Recovery.zip" in the fastboot folder.
4. Copy the SuperSU.zip to your device.
5. Shutdown your Sony Xperia Z.
Instructions:
1. Flash the "boot.img" using fastboot. (Open cmd and type in "fastboot flash boot boot.img")
2. Hold the volume button up (at you Sony Xperia Z) and plugin the USB into the device and to your Computer.
3. The operation will start automatically.
4. Reboot from fastboot. (Type in "fastboot reboot")
5. When the phone vibrates while it boot hold the volume button up to enter the recovery.
6. Flash the SuperSU.zip with the Custom Recovery.

IF SOMETHING DOESN'T WORK, PLEASE WRITE ME!!!! BACK UP YOUR TA WITH "Backup TA"!!!!!!

Yes, but make sure you flash back the stock kernel, as you will relock the bootloader when you restore your TA and soft brick your phone if it's still on the advanced stock kernel.

ahh, so i should make a only kernel ftf of my own 569 firmware and flash only kernel before i restore my TA-backup. But, do i loose root if i flash my own kernel only of 569?
Ok i unlocked my bootloader and rooted my device this way written by OP. No problem, i got root
Then i made my own Only kernel from my orginal ftf and flash it to remove DooMLoaRD's kernel we used here and it worked i still have root.
Proof:
And now i'm gonna relock my bootloader using my TA-Backup, crossing fingers and everything else.
EDIT:
YES YES Got ROOT and with "Locked Bootloader"
Thank you very much MMX35, DooMLoaRD, kingvortex and DevShaft
PROOF:
Thanks
So after I officially unlock bootloader via flashtool, I followed this rooting procedure (Thanks btw), can I just relock bootloader using flashtool again without losing root? Thanks!

unlock the phone from T-Mobile first using the following method
http://sim-unlock.net/simlock/Sony/Xperia_Z1/
then try again
The 14.1.G.2.257 Firmware is still not "directly" rootable with a tool.
You just have the possibility to downgrade on .534/.518 and use the already posted root instructions.
Either on an OTA Update to 14.1.G.2.257 you will keep rootaccess. To the newest firmware (.290) the OTA Update will not preserve full rootaccess -> only with ULBL you can root the latest one.
But be warned! MAKE AN TA-BACKUP before unlocking the bootloader.
Regards,
meet
EDIT: @Morlock O
The SIMlock does not point any issues on flashing ftf files or rooting the phone....

If i have an Unlocked Bootloader , running .1.136 STOCK odexed, (never flashed a ROM) can I update using FOTA?
More than likely I would say any moded phone unless it's returned to stock won't update ota. At least that's how it was back in my Samsung days, I haven't moded my Sony. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to just flash an ftf when it's available. Someone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that's how it is....
If changelog is correct - there are no Tap2wake, no 4K, TimeShift and smart features - no matter how optimised it'll be without new features it's just faster JB.
We already have almost all from Z2 so once again, we'll have to rely on our brains....
Fortunately, @serajr is preparing systemUI for KK and I'm sure we will all work on porting and moving apps and features from Z2 KK.
I'm not sure I'll even flash KK.
I'm sure I won't flash it now, without root privilege...

Hi,
This thread may look like another massive how to root your device by downgrading and bla bla bla..... But I have found a new app/solution that will help you root your device!
What to do:
1: Go to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783157 And download the application called TowelRoot.
2: Install the app and open it and press the button.
3: Phone will reboot within 15 seconds.
4: When rebooted your phone has root. To be sure you can download the app RootChecker from Play store
From here you have 2 ways to install a proper SuperUser app:
1: Install a custom recovery see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649923
2: Download the SU from here: http://download.chainfire.eu/447/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99r4.zip
3: Flash it via recovery
Or
1: Download the SU .zip (see above)
2: Put it on SD card and unzip it
3: Install the SU app and update the binaries Normal
From now on you have full root so you can install a custom recovery and run apps that need root.
Proof can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53424062&postcount=4616
FAQ:
Q: Will this work on my C5302 or C5306
A: Yes
Q: Do I lose my warranty
A: No, depends on the way the service center handels this. So to be sure you can reflash the stock rom to fully remove root (or unroot via SU app)
Q: Will this work on any ftf
A: Yes, it will work on all ftf with a kernel that has been build before 3 june (see towelroot thread)
Q: SOS my phone is bootlooping!

Hi guys I have found an easier method to root 5.1.1 (By accident )
steps
1)flash the ftf 23.4.A.0.546 based upon you device version(d6503 or d6502)
2)Download the latest custom kernel of Androplus(v62 recommended)
3)copy the same into your phone (.zip)
4)flash the boot image from the zip in fastboot to get recovery then install the zip copied earlier
5)download suView attachment UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
6)install the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46 in recovery and congrats you just got your phone rooted
I did test the same,got my D6502 version rooted:angel:
Credits
Androplus for his awesome kernel
give a thumps u if your problem is solved
This is useful only to those who have their bootloader unlocked...
Plus this method is not new... It has been around for quite some time
If you're rooted on previous version, you can make a backup of your TA partition, then do OP steps, then flash stock kernel, and restore TA... Easy

I connected my phone with the flashtool . How do i flash just the kernel? And do i have to unlock the bootloader manually before or can it be locked? in serviceinfo>configuration - it says 'Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes'
What is meant with boot image from the zip? The kernel zip file? Please help me! Or help us!

I am rooted right now.
I just downgraded, unchecked the data, appdata and cache and flashed the kitkat rom but it caused bootloop, I flashed again and wiped all the data and cache in the flashtool and it worked.
Rooted, installed recovery and flashed the pre-rooted file from recovery.

Sorry, I am just a newbie in this.
I just wanted to know how can I flash the kernal? If you could explain the procedure
Secondly, in serviceinfo>configuration - it says 'Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes'
That means my Bootloader is unlocked, right?

It means it can be unlocked.you will have to unlock it to you the
But let me warn you that you will loose the drm files ie camera quality loss and xreality and all.....try other root method if you don't want to unlock...

Please mention For unlocked bootloader in your thread name.. New people will get confused and may try to flash kernel on locked BL and get bricked. You can root or do whatever you want if you have unlocked BL.. Nothing accidental..
Hi
How about root for z1 5.1.1?
