Quickremote - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I was wondering if anyone has successfully taught/programmed their G2 to with their Wii. I tried to see if it was a preprogrammed option (no luck) and when I tried to teach the G2 it didn't catch the signal from the Wiimote.

Wii controllers use bluetooth to communicate with the console so you're out of luck with that. The remotes only need ir (coming from the bar thingy) to track the motion.

Thank you for your response it's greatly appreciated.

Currently the fine print states it cannot be used beyond Android 4.2 due to changes in how BT is handled in Android.
Wii uses Bluetooth, PS3 (and PS4 I believe) all use bluetooth communication. So, in theory, yes - it will work. You have to get your phone to emulate the controller.

Thank you I noticed that another person with the G2 has tried the app and it's not working. I'll keep my eyes on it.

[Q] Wifi tether apps

Hi everyone, I'm looking for an app or a way that I can use my vzw galaxy Nexus to tether my nexus 10. I've used my gnex to tether a Xoom and other phones but can't get it to work with the 10. Btw, both are rooted.
Any one have any suggestions?
Have you tried wifi tether? What are you using to tether atm thats not working on N10?

I use both wifi tether and foxi fi neither one are working. They work with my lap top and foxifi used to work with the xoom.
Two thoughts
1. Make sure you Nexus in not set to 5gh WiFi only and see if that helps.
2. Isn't Verizon tethering now free? I don't use Verizon so I am not 100 percent sure. If I am right check and see if it works with their app.
Good luck.

I switched it to 2.4 and now it works fine

Tether speed extremely slow? (WiFi/USB/BT)

USB teher- doesn't function at all. No data ever transferred
Wifi- connects but doesn't transfer any data like USB
Bt- works but, data is slow ~20KB/sec
This is disappointing since I got MB regularly on my g1 despite the older radio... I'm going you guys have done experience with jelly bean and tethering.

Same here. I have problems with WiFi tethering using the stock option. I didn't try apps cause, last time I tried them (other android), they killed the battery.
Not a fan of Bluetooth, I expect it to have a bandwidth limitation, which would answer your question.
But we both share the need for wifi-based help
So I'd love some help too
TIA

Now BT tether has reached 170KB/sec which seems like the max. Though I would prefer at least 1MB.

This is partly true. It could be a compatibility issue. What year and model is the car?
What ROM/kernel are you using?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Blutooth is broken on 4.2.1 you need to wait for 4.2.2 or use a custom kernel like Franco's Kernel.

Thanks everyone. It is a 2012 c300. I am running stock 4.2.1 rooted.
Should I try another kernel?

Mine connects to my 2012 Ram on unrooted stock 4.2.1 with no problem. OP, see if there is an update for your vehicle from the dealer. My '12 has already had one due to an issue with the HDD in the radio.

Just called and nothing. They actually have never heard of anyone trying to pair their tablets. I had a feeling they would not be much help.
I am wondering if I try to go to another rom.

You're on 4.2.1 stock?
Wouldn't hurt to try. I'll try connecting to my 2013 Jetta tonight. What is it you're trying to tether? Audio, I suspect...
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Cars usually only connect to Phones via bluetooth because phones have different bluetooth profiles than tablets since phones have changes in their framework to allow phone calls.
most cars connect to the phone so you can use the phone hands free. tablets dont have hands free bluetooth profiles thus is probably why your Mercedes isn't linking properly as the tablet doesn't support syncing phone books and phone calls.
Someone else may have paired theirs with their Dodge ram but they most likely paired it for Audio to their audio system but not their navigation/phone system.
I got the same problem next time will buy a BMW.
I had issues connecting an android 4.2.1 device to an AUDI A6. gave up after a few days, even took it to the dealership and they couldn't figure it out.
for some odd ball reason, android bluetooth just doesn't work right. I tried all my apple devices (ipad and ipod touch 4g) and it connected instamagically to the car.
Let me know how it goes for you and I will try the later rom

[Q] How many Blue tooth devices...

How many Blue tooth devices can i have active at the same time? I just discovered I can have my keyboard and a wireless headset synced at the same time. Can I add a third device? I wanted to get rid of my OTG wired mouse and purchase a wireless mouse and leave the port open for charging. With this setup I won't have to ever carry my laptop around as this provide everything I need on a portable computer.

I've used a BT mouse and keyboard on my N7 simultaneously. Though I don't have a BT headset or stereo headphones yet, I'm willing to bet that it could be added to the mix, as it uses a different BT profile.

Bad news, for some reason my keyboard is repeating strokes. I suspect the addition of the wireless mouse had something to do with it. Anyone else experienced this before?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
A BT keyboard may repeat strokes anyway. Get 'external keyboard helper' from the play store, and you can configure things like repeat delay to help sort it out.

Nope, that didn't work for me. Thanks for the suggestion! I am using a regular OTG wireless keyboard and I do not have the repeating key problem. I might buy a OTG+ charging cable in order to use my tablet as a laptop and charge it at the same time.

Does anybody know what this icon means?

It appears occasionally in my notification bar but I don't know what it means. It looks like a house with Wi-Fi coming out of the top maybe?

not sure what network you are with but it could be viop or phone is acting as hotspot, just a guess.
Could it be Miracast?
I don't have Miracast enabled devices at home, so I'm just guessing...
Cheers!
I don't think I have any miracast devices on my network and I'm definitely not in mobile hotspot now. Running on Verizon

Yup, someone nearby has a VZN Network Extender and you're connecting to it.
