Wow.... Will look into it

Any news on Ubuntu for Android?

Hi,
I've tested it when it launched, don't know how it is now. The preview had some stuff, but most weren't working yet. It's a good thing trying it, very fun to play around and easy to install/uninstall.

Just bought 2nd N7

after doing what I would now consider (dumb as ****) OTA updates....what would you all recommend i do as far as unlock...root...and rom? or if i stay stock no updates.......what would you do?
4.2 is as fast as any of the 4.1.2 custom roms / kernels that i have run in the past and i have tried most of them, i am currently running stock rom rooted with lean kernel which is a nice combination until some custom roms come out

It all depends on what you plan to do with it. Personally, I require root because of otg+host mode charging, among many other reasons. Each person is different in what they want and or require. You could use the first to experiment with different things and leave the new one stock till you find a configuration you like. Good luck!

Would recommend just keeping stock until more 4.2 Roms become available, or flash the rooted 4.2 stock image that was released.
Paranoid android is releasing 4.2 tomorrow
What are those things on XDA no one listens to? Oh yea, rules. What the hell does this have to do with android development? If you have questions post in the Q&A.

Where did you hear this, I looked through the last 5-6 pages of the paranoid android thread. I am very excited if it's true, but how because it is based on CyanogenMod and 10.1 is not released yet...

It isn't even rolling out for people with the nexus 4 yet and that is the device it is rumored to on when you buy a new one in brazil.
This is how rumors get started.
I'm running 4.3, why- you haven't heard that it's been released

How you get Android 4.3? I thought I read somewhere that an app or theme or something required 4.3. I thought maybe it was just it was just written by mistake.

I wonder what it fixes. I hope google put up a changelog soon enough.

I'd still take that with a good dose of skepticism. Editing the build.prop to show a different version isn't especially challenging and the release alphanumeric that's made the round online is not consistent with what Google actually uses. Likewise, if you browse that site, they don't exactly have the best track record vetting rumors for accuracy.

If you scroll that screen down there's a "Windows RT" menu item with options for a new bootloader, download Win RT and "Apply for kit to add a Windows button and upgrade to 2GB (fits on pogo pins)

ColorOS for Nexus 4??

Hi Devs,
anyone working on porting of ColorOS of Oppo N1, based on Android 4.2.2 to Nexus 4??
It has already parted to HTC One X, as it based on sense framework..
It looks very weighted and pretty..
Thanks..

Oppo color os is not based on sense, how ever the dev ported it to HTC one and added sense framework. I am interested on this and downloaded the factory image for porting to Nexus 4. i will update soon next week.
Hopes we will see color os on our nexus 4 soon. .

Ill be honest most will not work on a port of a 4.2.2 rom to a device that has 4.4 already. Also Sense ports never full work on devices that are not HTC.

Stop here.
5.0.2 is for the first generation, Nexus 7 (2012)
Is it? Lots of devs are using it and I am on it now with my nexus 2013 deb.
According to this it's for 2012, for now, but who knows...
