Hi guys Im not an expert but i just found a way in how to give more space to your internal memory of our phone galaxy exhibit T599 that probably much of you guys know about it but there are also plenty of people that doesn't know how to do it !
DisclaimerIm not responsible for any damage you do to your phone in this process even its totally safe s%$*t! Can happen!
You will need a Rooted Device to proceed !
You will need to download this apps from the market
1 Link2SD
2 Aparted (sd card partition)
3 BusyBox
To have the most internal memory space i recommend to de-bloat your device of unnecessary apps as Metropcs, T-Mobile apps you can do that with Titanium Backup from the market
Ok here we GO!!
FIRST. Open and Install BusyBox
SECOND. Unmount your SD Card
THIRD. Open Aparted app WITH THE SD UNMOUNTED.. CREATE TWO PARTITIONS HERES WHERE THE TRICK IS !!
AFTER CREATION BOTH PARTITIONS YOU WILL GIVE VALUE TO THE SECOND PARTITION FIRST AND WILL BE FORMATTED IN EXT4 GIVE AROUND 1200MB ITS = 1GB OR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO GIVE IT DEPEND ON YOUR SD CARD SPACE VALUE
THEN .... YOU GIVE VALUE TO THE FIRST PARTITION THAT WILL BE FORMATTED IN FAT32 GIVE THE REST OF THE VALUE AVIALABLE ( FAT32 HAS TO BE THE PRIMARY PARTITION HAVE TO LOOK LIKE IN THE SCREENSHOT SHOWED ) AND PRESS APPLY CHANGES
FOURTH. After creating both partitions successfully go to LINK2SD you will ask what format you want to the apps to go to select EXT4 and reboot device
FIFTH. When your device boot go on LINk2SD and start linking your apps to your SD Card
P.S I SAW YOU CAN ALSO MOVE APPS TO YOUR SD CARD USING CLEAN MASTER I POST SOME SCREENSHOTS OF IT
I had tested and everything works fine my SD card its recognized by the camera to store your pictures
IF THIS POST HELP YOU DON'T FORGET TO CLICK THE :good: ENJOY !!!!!!!!!!
Here are some samples screenshots
does anybody know if its possible to install an app directly onto the apps partition? if i were to have the data/obb files on my computer..?
No this device its not support it but if u follow my op u can increase your free space on your internal memory

Worked like a charm...just be sure to BACKUP the info on your card data to your computer. You will be formatting it. Best thing about this app...on the fly on the phone. Successfully created fat32 26497MB partition with an ext4 4711MB partition and a swap file of 707 MB.
Thanks for the instructions. I was able to save so much space now and am able to install more apps. I do have a problem. I use titanium backup and now I can't backup anything to my sd card. It says my SD Card is not writable. Anyone else have this problem? Any thoughts? Thanks.

I'm not using this mod, but why don't you try download root explorer and go to extSdCard or wherever the sd card is at and mount it as RW, and try using titanium backup.

Followed instructions word for word. Even made a swap with nothing changing. I wish there was a better option out there.

It should be working fine since I'm currently using Link2SD with CM11 and able to link apps to SD. Why don't you try again.

Tried twice. OK, I unmounted SD card. Opened a parted and created two partitions. Number two I made 1200mb ext4, and 1 I made 6742mb fat32. Then, in link2sd it says ext4 not supported on my device mount script invalid.

hello everyone,
i need your help to partition my sd card and to enable app2sd, last week i had formated my sd card cause i ve got somme probleme witjh it the sd carde were parttionned and working fine but after formating it i tried to partition it with mad team app2sd(using kyrillos 4.1 oc) application as i did befor, but after enting commande in termainal emulator and copying fs convert to fugmode reprtory in sd card i can t no longer see a2sd line in titanium back up i tried to reformat reflash with xjpf, xjpm then many other custom rom nothing happen i made a secreenshot of titanium backup screen but i cant upload it to the post
so i dont know what a did wrong this time
many thanks for your help
hi..
Format the sdcard and try partitioning using minitool..
thank for your reply
can you tell me if i put this on minitool
partition fat 32: 13gb
ext 2:1.5gb
ext 3:200mb will it work? and if i have to enter commande mkfs.vfat/dev/block..
in terminal emulator
now i m using kyrillos 5.5
The partition should be ext4 and you won't require 1.5gb for apps.. Make an ext4 partition of 512mb or 1gb and the second partition fat32 .. swap partition isn't necessary
also make sure that both partitions are primary ..
And you won't have to enter any command in terminal emulator..
Ok very thankful for your reply i will try tomorow

hello again
i tried your solution but still not working i explain: i formated my sd card using gparted live cd and external card reader then i made 2 partition: fat 32(13.95) and ext4 (1gb) both as primary then i shutedown my phon put sd card on it and the phone didnt boot(bootloop during 10 min) so i removed the battery removed sd card i copied the content of the reportery sdcard present in the kyrillos 5.5 zip and still not bootin , so i removed again the battery and sd card then the phone starts without the sd card and when i put the sd card and when i go the titanium backup its shows me a prtition with 14.9
any suggestion please
Does it show a field named app2sd in titanium? If yes, what is the size of it ?
Also let the phone boot with the sdcard in.. It sometimes takes a very long time on the first boot..
no its not shoing its, do you think that if i try to reflash with kyrillos rom may be it ll work

Reflashing could help but do that only if you're sure that you've partitioned the sdcard correctly
i tried to boot the phone with sd card in but its freez on boot after about 15 min
this is my partitions:

Which version of app2sd are you using?? And do you have CWM recovery?? If yes, then boot into recovery with SD card in. Then wipe data. And reboot. If it doesn t boot, again goto recovery and wipe data. Keep doing it few times till it boots. The first boot will take longer time.
I use kyrillos rom 5.5 but as i said i cant use cwm because my volume up and down are out so i cant navigate throught the menu

Hmm. Then boot up first. Then insert SD card. And then do factory reset by going into settings=>privacy. Do this a few times till it boots. Doing factory reset also wipes data. So this should also work(theoretically).

1. do you have partition on sd card?
2.did you copy Android folder to root of sdcard and owerwrited
it?
3.did you set in titanium backup to restore backups to internal?
and try KMapp to check out if hd2sd is ticked in app....
and under hds2d settings in KMapp check if you have ticked following:
app, log, dalvik cache..under dalvik cache there are few options what to move....and remeber: it is important that you copy this folder(Android) to root of ur sdcard...
http://db.tt/b5ahm2zW
unzip it to sdcard and owerwrite it....

what r u saying is first u enable hybrid app2sd after that u make partition..?
it very simple just follow this STEP BY STEP... which Kyrillos said..
Optional, Enable Hybrid Data2sd [More space for apps!]
- Make a backup of your sdcard, enter CWM recovery and go to Miscellaneous => Partition SD Card. Choose the sizes you want (Recommended:512-1Gb ext, and 0mb swap]. After the partition completes, wipe data and reboot. You can now copy back all your sdcard files which you did a backup.
- Then copy the contents of the sdcard folder in your sdcard and reboot. No wipe data required, the first reboot may take time.
- Install titanium and go to titanium backup's preferences, and select Restore Backups to => Internal Storage. Then do your restore...

How to unpartition?
Hi, I used kyrillos rom before I installed cm7 a7 and in kyrillos I enabled HD2S and partitioned my sdcard with 512mb, after some time I installed a fresh copy of cm7 from odin, and my sdcard still has a maximum of 6.9GB instead of 7,4gb so i was wondering if there is a way to restore my sdcard to it's previous state?
A Little Help Plz
I installed kyrillos 9.0....
Updated to v9.5....Successfully!
Copied the four files necessary for HYBRID DATA2SD to my sd card
Went into cwm nd partitioned my sd card ..... successfully!
Installed Titanium Backup which shows the partition (a2sd)
went into terminal evaluator which shows hybrid data2sd script running
But still whenever i install apps, my internal memory gets low ???
I installed Kmapp also and have HYBRID DATA2SD enabled with "app, dalvik cache & log" checked
What did i do wrong?
Remedies please..
Thanks In advance
I moved apps that I possibly can to the SD card and I clean the cache daily. Is there no other option than to delete apps to free up space on my device?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Are you rooted? If so you can partition your sd card and install dark tremors a2sd which allows you to moves apps and cache to the sd

There are different "levels" of partitioning (ext 1, ext 2, ext 3, and ext 4) I recommend ext 3 because not all roms support ext 4. Partitioning will wipe your sd so make a back up, once you've partitioned you can move cache to sd as well.. Follow these steps
1) make back up of sd on your PC
2) boot into recovery and go to partition sd (may be in advanced settings depending on recovery)
3) choose partition to ext 3 and set the partition size to 1024mb
4) reboot and restore back up to sd
5) reboot back into recovery and flash your dt a2sd zip
6) reboot again
7) open terminal emulator
8) in all lowercase type the following
su
a2sd check
a2sd cache sd
9) enjoy your free internal space
sent from my evol supersonic
The a2sd thing can be confusing because it can generally refer to two methods. If you are using the applications in setting to "move to SD" it is simply moving the app information to the sd card's fat32 partition. To use DarkTremor's method, you would need to partition your sd card to include an ext3 partition. The phone is then tricked into thinking that partition is part of your internal storage. When you install DarkTremor it will move the apps you have designated as "on phone" to that partition, freeing up internal storage space. You can also then use the terminal commands to move your dalvik cache to that same partition. I've found that moving the /data to the ext partition slows things down pretty badly. I've got about 80 apps loaded in my phone this way with the dalvik moved as well and still have about 152mbs free in internal. You can check out here for more information.

can you elaborate on what you mean by does it need to be prepared for it? The dt zip is just a script and should work on any rooted ROM a lot of people get scared because after they flash dt they see their phone go into a couple boot loops but usually after looping 2 or 3 times the phone still boots..
Do you live in Tempe AZ? I live in Gilbert AZ

I guess I was just under the impression that there was "something" that had to be done to a ROM to allow the DT zip to be flashed to it. So it just needs to be rooted. Cool, I think I'm one of those that was freaked by the multiple boots when I tried to just install it to my rooted OEM setup rather than loading a custom ROM.
Yup, Tempe, AZ.

No not at all, terminal emulator is the Android version of command prompt for windows, you download it from the party store (market) and dt a2sd is Dark Tremor's apps to sd, it's a flashable zip/ script that automatically moves yours apps to sd without you having to do anything at all..

OK. I've got the emulator and DT's a2sd on my phone. Where is this flashable zip/script?
Also, when I go into recovery, will i just simply follow your directions to partition?
Thanks

The dt a2sd is not an app from the play store it's a zip you download, the thread is here on xda, I'll post the link in a second.. And yes you'll just follow the instructions I posted
download dta2sd here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715938
so you'll download this zip, this is your flashable zip ok? every time you flash a ROM you will flash this with it. KEEP IN MIND it usually causes the phone to do anywhere from 1 - 4 bootloops so don't freak out, and every time you flash a ROM you also have to move the cache to sd (this is where terminal emulator comes in)
also, partitioning only has to be once so once that's done it's done for good... so the steps i posted will only have to be done once.. Then you just flash the dta2sd every time you flash the rom and move cache AFTER you flash the ROM.. I really hope you understand this man, this is the best i can do to explain lol

xda needs more people like you, i have seen on here so many times people being jerks and not helping out others. other than saying search for it. when ever i have i question i do search first and then and only then do i post something and i get the help that i need, i only wish it was sometimes step by step like how you just laid this out.
i have never use this a2sd. what i use is a app from the market called link2sd which basically does the same thing but just easier and from with in the app itself. it shows you want is on the interntal part, whats on the sd and lets you move them with no problem or other long steps, watch the video on the market page it shows you what to do.
i have over 120app with 41% free on internal (179mb) and on partition i gave it 1.5gb with 43% free on that. i found this when i just couldn't figure out the a2sd
This is just anothe choice for all of you's

NativeSD Rom Boot Script for HD2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869673
many-many thanks to the devs & guys that gave us this!
But there are still a few out there that are new to this so here is what i did to make it simple to follow.
What's it about anyways, here one good answer from samsamuel
samsamuel said:
standard sd android runs from an image on the fat32 partition that pretends to be a file system, nativeSD actually installs to the EXT partition, and the phone/android treats it as a real filesystem. its the same as installing to nand, except as fast as or faster (assuming you have a nice fast card,) than nand, and it keeps the read/write pressure off the nand memory, reducing the potential for bad blocks.

what you need:
- a good fast SD card, size depends on your needs (i tried a 4g Kingston that took forever to load, it could be fake/ damaged)
- MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition 7.6
- Download 4EXT Recovery from here. this is where the magic starts, thanks Xylograph/ securecrt
- for multi-ROM selection , thanks datagr
- for NativeSD Touch Recovery, backup & restore thanks tytung
- How not to Google Play when using diffrent roms so as not to always go to Google Play
I assume you already have Magldr/ CWM in your HD2 & know your way around the Magldr Menu.
First we need to format the SD card so that it will contain two partitions, ALL DATA WILL BE DELETED. so do a backup/ copy of your card.
- 1 FAT32 primary
- 1 EXT4 primary
Be very careful when using the minitool partition as you can accidentally format/ delete your Hard Disk Partition.
Insert you SD card to your PC & run minitool partition, something like below will show. Make sure you select the right drive.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Right click on the drive & choose "delete" then apply the changes, Again make sure it's the right drive! You now have an "unallocated" partition.
right click on the drive again & choose "Create New Partition" & change the dropdown boxes as the options below. Now move the mouse to the end of the "Size and Location" table. click & hold then move to the LEFT to leave a space for the EXT4 which will be done latter. Size will depend on how many Roms yo plan to use & how many apps you plan to install. Click OK.
right click on the drive again that has the "Unallocated" space & choose "Create New Partition" & change the dropdown boxes as the options below. Remember it should be Primary & EXT4. Click OK
Click Apply & when it's done you should have 1 FAT32 & 1 EXT4 Partition
Another method of creating an EXT4 partition
3a Use the provided 4EXT recovery (NAND or SD version) to create the partitions and format them.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
copy the "TOUCH" or "TWRP" or "RECOVERY" folder your SD Card (they all do the same thing)
no need to copy the others for now as it will be erased when you create/ format the EXT4 partition
Magldr > Service > Boot Setting > AD SD Dir > TOUCH
& this should run, Tap on Advance
Tap on Partition SD card
Ext size. = press the + sign to go up, swap size is 0 & make sure to select EXT4 then tap Partition
this is what info you can see using the "Recovery" Folder method
Magldr > Service > Boot Setting > AD SD Dear > Recovery (folder must be in SD root)
Time to Flash!
Magldr > Service > Boot Setting > AD SD Dir > TOUCH
Tap Install, notice that the compatible ROMS for this methoid have a div2 or NativeSD designation, tap on the ROM you want to flash.
Make SURE the ROM you Tap is the correct one
if you made a mistake tapping the incompatible ROM it will not go the Aroma installer but immediately will be flashed to NAND - erasing what ever you had there!
Install to SD-EXT
wait for it then your Done!
Magldr > Service > Boot Setting > AD SD Dir > NATIVESD
Run NativeSDBoot.apk, tap on whatever ROM you wan to BOOT to then re-start.
HTH
& BTW don't forget to hit the Thanks Button for the Dev's & Guys who made/ ported those ROM's to become NativeSD :highfive:

could by the way it was formated or the size of cluster used? some card specs are fast in some work task but now all maybe like read-write, copy-transfer etc.
anyways just use whatever works best for you

I just flashed CM10 just now using EXT4Recovery on SD, no problem here. Try to DL the file again it might be a corrupted zip or try to see the md5 if they match.

AFAIK those are just the same ROM manager/ Recovery loaders but from different dev's or you can use either if your keys are not functioning twrp(team win recovery project). for multi boot just use the app "NativeSDmultiboot" in the first page, it will be like the one attached.

I meant, how to install multi ROM with recovery method. do you just boot to the recovery folder and install another ROM.zip? or use the NativeSDmultiboot apk and then install from there?

hey,
even if your phone is rooted, you can't simply fool the droids memory architecture just from a Third Party Application..
you need INT2EXT script with a constantly running application which watches the memory.(eg link2sd)
and for all that u first need to partion your sdcard to the device(grand2) supported partion i.e ext2/ext3/ext4.
for partioning i recommend PartionWizard windows application.
else The custom CWM is highly recommended (which unfortunately isnt available at this time)
Does int2ext work on grand2?

i guess it will work
we just have to trace its internal memory hardware location
and memory address where the /data folder exists..
then we need to create the partition modules(.ko files)eg:- Ext3.ko
then we need to create supported partition on sdcard.
and then create int2ext script which links the module and partition on sdcard which fools android.

[Q]Link2SD for SM-G7102
Now my Viewsonic V350 is starting to fall in to peaces I've orderd the SM-G7102.
While awaiting the delivery I'm studying the posibilities.
On the V350 Link2SD was briliant to get around the lack of memory of the phone. I've become very fond of it.
Here's a question for the Link2SD users:
Did anyone manage to get the seccond partition working as a ext3?
Yes for me it works with ext4 format
