Does anyone have a solution for running Talkonaut and Opera Mini 4 at the same time? They're both java apps. Jbed doesn't support running multiple MIDlets so I tried TOA and both will start up but then they both crash while Talkonaut loads. Jbed runs a little faster anyway.
Also, does anyone know how to minimize Opera when running in Jbed? It runs fullscreen and I can't get access to the close button which allows me to minimize apps. In TOA it runs windowed so I can minimize it. Even if I could minimize Opera then I could run Talkonaut in TOA and Opera in Jbed.
The reason I'm using Talkonaut is because the MSN app that comes with WM6 seems to say all my contacts are offline when they aren't and it's the only client I've found that supports HTTP binding for GTalk (needed when using wifi at school since there's no cell signal).
Thanks for any help you can provide. Sorry if this is in the wrong section or has basic questions in it. I'm a noob to these phones.
And yes, I did Google, search the forums, and read the MIDlets Guide I saw on here somewhere...
Hi guys, I have an HTC touch (sprint) and got a job with a air balancing company and they have software that links their ppc's to their server for live data entry. however the application is only available for the palm os. Does anyone know if installing multiple OS's on a phone is even possible, like installing linux on an ipod? or if not, any way to convert a palm os application to WM6 combatible application. If needed, i have the install files for my application, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. If nothing exists i would even consider payment for the application to be convtered if anyone is intrested.
Thank you
Matt
you would probably have to build the application up again from the ground up if its a native palm application, although, if its written in a common language, i dont see why it couldnt be ported over
somebody more knowledgable should be able to help you better
and welcome to xda-devs
you can use styletap to run palmOS apps on windows mobile, if this is what you want to do.
Well, im 50% there, styletap works great, im able to load the software and run it, no glitches yet, however styletap doesnt seem to be allowing the application to sync with my server. any1 have any ideas? i even tried first establishing a data conn in WM6 using IE and hopped back to style tap to sync again. no luck
Has anyone here use the service Logmein ( https://secure.logmein.com/US/home.aspx ) with your HD2 ?
The iphone can do it, but I was wondering if the HD2 can do it also. I want to remotely control my PC at home when I am away using the HD2.
They've never made a compatible AX control for the current versions of IE or Opera that come on the HD2, so I'm afraid you have to forget about Logmein. I was gutted about that, but soon got over it when I started using Remote Desktop instead.
Give that a go - it should already be on your device. (Don't forget that you'll need to ensure your PC will accept incoming RDP connections, and you'll need to allow it through any firewall(s) you have - port 3389.)
You can use IEToggle (http://discussion.treocentral.com/treo-pro/177752-toggle-between-pie-ie6-free-app-cab-file.html) to switch back to old IE (Pie) style.
I use Opera as my main browser, and use old IE for logmein.
You use the toggle once, and it stays on the old version of IE until you ise the toggle program again.
With this (and the RACtrlCE.cab from logmein), it works perfectly on the HD2 (at least for me).
Wish they had a standalone app, but I find this program smoother then using RDC for a home laptop.

I thought the keyboard didn't work. That was the reason I didn't use an old version of IE. Is this now resolved?

I had the same problem, keyboard not working in PIE and logmein but the SWYPE keyboard works OK. So now I just switch to that to use logmein. Works well but not ideal I'll admit...
Use the client
Hi there,
Well I am using the client, available at https://secure.logmein.com/US/labs/.
It works like charm on my hd2.
sonix
I'm just able to find Hamachi2 cab at that address... I think this topic is about usig the "basic" remot control service, i.e. LogMeIn Ignition client for Windows Mobile
Anyway, having an hamachi client can ease the life with RDP
Opera 10
What are u talking about?
Opera 10 works fine with log me in. Rom version: 1.66.482.1
No need to toggle with IE....
Just ignore the message "To get the best experience...."
yup, using opera 10 (has flash support), i can use logmein without installing extra software.
i have no idea how it works before, but a few things i've noticed...the remote desktop shown on screen is nothing but a bitmap, so it's not interactive. so everytime i do an action that changes the screen, it will redraw the entire screen (and it's quite slow).
i can do left clicks. no idea how to mimick a right click.
you can send input text by using the textbox on top of the screen (then click send). and send special keys that are listed on the dropdown menu.
in summary, it's working but pretty limited.
currenlty using 1.5 and its the 1st skyfire i am using on my leo. whenever i access skyfire and wanna multi task. my start button is disable. i cant access into my start app.
anyone have a solution ?
Does anyone know if there are any plans to release a Firefox browser app for the HD2? I tried out the new Opera 10 browser the other day but I don't think its any better than the older version - I'd much prefer to use Firefox!
From what I know they have halted development on the firefox development of Fennec due to WM7 issues.
If you want to download the latest version of Fennec use the link below:

Hope this helps.
I personally love Opera 10, but hey - each to their own!
Try this. It should help
http://mobile.support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+install+Firefox+on+Windows+Mobile
opera10 is great but it lacks the native pinch-to-zoom and some other features htc implemented in hd2's stock opera 9.7
just use SKYFIRE, skyfire is awesome..
