I was siting down yesterday afternoon with my Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 in my right tracksuit pocket I stood up got a text and took out my phone to check and I see the screen is cracked and is not displaying anything apart from the top third of the screen. I've been to a shop and they said it'll cost £145.00 to repair and Samsung UK said it's not covered by warranty and I'll have to pay a similar price at a service centre. It was bought off eBay last summer and is not on contract although I am a T-Mobile UK Pay As You Go user. Is there anyway anyone would know to repair it for cheaper or even possibly free (with some sort of warranty) as I'm just a teenager.

My galaxy tab fell from the coffee table onto the floor and the screen cracked. I sent it in to Samsung Absolut in Montreal for repair. They quoted just over $300 to have the screen replaced and as it is being covered through my credit card I told them to go ahead. The thing is that we have now been waiting for over two weeks for Samsung to ship a replacement front panel. I have tried ebay but there do not seem to be any listings. I called Samsung customer service but they were less than helpful. Any suggestions?
My tab fell out of my jacket pocket, and straight on a a titled floor.
Now there's a huge crack everywhere on the screen. device works fine, digitizer recognizes touch inputs. anyone know if they sell replacement glass?
it's only been like 10 days since i got my att tab (waiting for case to arrive), and this happens. ugh. ugh.
went to att store and says i should contact samsjung to see if they can repair it at cost.

Sorry to hear that mate. Read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9629791&postcount=23
I had the same thing happen. I spoke to Samsung, they told me to send it to an authourized repair centre. I did. They said the screen and the lcd were inseperable and it would cost $300 to replace. I said okay as my credit card insurance was paying for it. After waiting for a month for the replacement part, I told them to just ship it back. I purchased a gelaskin to cover the cracks (they are mostly on the bezel). Best $20 I ever spent. Good luck to you. If you do get it replaced for $65 please post where you sent it as I would be interested as well.
Get insurance from squaretrade its like 90 bucks for 3 years. Check the facebook page for discount code. You can get it up do 90 days of device purchase.
Hey, will Squaretrade still work if it is already broken? I have warranties with them for other things, but they were purchased new (as was my Tab) but now my tab's screen is totally cracked. Do they ask if its damaged?
i dropped my samsung galaxy s4 on the floor! and guttingly the outer glass cracked! my touch is fully functioning and everything works fine, its just the glass is broken! has anyone had this problem and got it fix by samsung? if so how much did it cost?
i have been around most of my local phone repair shops and they wont touch it as it is very risky to do!!
please if anyone has any experience and had it fixed or can recommend anyone to do it please reply with cost!!
i am on orange.i was paying for insurance until 1st july. even though i paid my bill on the 10th apparently i cannot use a claim! i have had this phone since 2nd of may but with it no been a technical fault my warranty doesnt count does it?
Sorry to hear that. You have limited options:
- Best insurance, but I understand not possible
- Take it to Samsung for out of warranty repairs - they'll likely say they have to change the whole screen - it's about $200-$250 for parts and God knows how much for labour
- If the AMOLED is working properly and it's just the glass - the glass is replaceable but it's a difficult process - the glass costs about $25 bucks but you have to find a pro who can change it without breaking the display - also it will also void you warranty if Samsung find out
- Live with it
A friend of mine dropped her GT-N7100 and the screen cracked. She bought the phone in the US and she is located in South America right now and asked if I could help.
Samsung US won't fix it saying it's not a US phone and they don't have the parts (the gorilla glass apparently isn't used on the US Note 2!). So they referred me to the UK Samsung support site. I contacted Samsung UK and their reply was that they don't do any out of warranty repairs and referred me to an outside vendor.
Anyone can recommend any alternatives in the US to get the screen replaced? I am looking for a full service shop... not really interested in buying the parts and spending any time taking it apart, it ain't my phone!. Using the US parts (i.e. the non gorilla glass would work as long as it is compatible with the phone).
Any idea what the price would be?
Thanks.
Denis
I live in South America and my phone screen broked. Since there is not official support from Samsung I send the phone to repair in a third party repair shop.
They fix the phone in one week but it cost me $340.
Is expensive but I don't know other alternatives

Depends on whether only the glass is broken (in which case the touchscreen should be working).
In UK it is easy to get the whole LCD assembly replaced but it costs between 130 to 180 GBP. It is more difficult to find someone to just replace the glass. I got my glass replaced by a Plymouth company for 45 GBP. There website is repairyourmobile.co.uk. I mailed the phone to them on Monday and got it back today (Wednesday) i.e. within 48 hours.
The quality of their work seems very good. That is why I thought I should post it here.

I got a broken s7 edge with a defective LCD screen from a friend. There are no visible cracks/drops on the phone and the buttons seem to light up with sounds etc.
I walked into the Canadian Samsung official repair store (not authorized ones) and they said they don't service International phones and I should call 1800-SAMSUNG and should be getting a replacement since it is defective.
I called them after and they said international version is not covered at all in Canada. I asked if where I can ship it to them, they said it doesn't matter.
Is there anything I can do to repair this phone with Samsung or get it replaced?

Instead getting you to run circles or jump hoops
I will be honest with you and tell you that there
is no way to get samsung to repair or to replace
your phone.
You need to go to an authorized samsung repair
shop locally or an online samsung repair service
and pay to have them repair your phone.
If I were you I would start googling to find one
if I wanted to keep and use the phone. LOL
Good luck,
Have a great day
thanks

Thank you for replying. How much would this be to repair the screen? Since a new phone is around $1000 CAD i am not sure if it is worth it do pay for the repair
I live in Canada and have a Canadian version. Just to order a screen assembly is $300 CAD or more. You are probably looking at a $400 or $500 repair. Look around but I think that is pretty average. Also, you might not want to test the water resistance after the repair. Forging in how much you paid you might want to try and get a couple hundred out of it on Kijiji and put that towards a new phone.
You're better off ordering the parts online and fixing it yourself or going to a repair shop
