Hey everyone.
I have a Red Lens Defy running CM7 and I want to restore it back to the offical Froyo, with no trace of having rooted/installed a ROM, for sending it back to T-Mobile for a repair. (UK T-Mobile)
About phone:
Model number: MB525
Android version: 2.3.5
Baseband Version: EPU93_U_00.59.01
Kernel Version: [email protected] #1
CPU info: ARMv7 Processor rev 2 (v71)
Mem info (avail/total): 155 MB / 477 MB
Mod version: CyanogenMod-7.1.0-RC1.5-jordan
Build number: Gingerbread GRJ90
Instructions would be helpful. Please and thank you
P.S If I could do this with a nandroid backup then unroot and remove the recovery mode(?), could you link please? (the one on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=880813&page=7) doesn't work, the download has been removed, I have searched!)
Hi,
Good news, you can restore your phone back to froyo. But for that you need to flash the full SBF of your original rom.
Did you save it in CWM recovery backup ? Coz we need the exact information about your original rom to find it on Internet...
Maybe you can try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178243
Flash the full Sbf (not the nandroid) with rsdlite
Can guarantee it will come back with soc module, they changed that the first time mine went for repair.....
Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
It must work, froyo kernel has soc devices support
Motorola Defy CM7 RC 1.5 OC 1GHz
Hi Folks
Kiran here...Im using DELL XCD 35 (ZTE BLADE)...Its currently running on 2.2 froyo...Could you please lemme know if there is any update available for this phone...I mean is it up-gradable to Gingerbread or can we root this phone to get the latest OS...If so could you please guide me how to root this phone safely...Im a beginner and i have no real idea of how to root a phone....
Thanks in advance....
Kiran
Yes you basically have to root then install ROM Manager and install ClockworkMod from that app and then download ROMs and flash .
For GB ROMs you have stock ROM based on 2.3.5 and custom roms like swedish snow and cyanogen 7 and many more look here at XDA and modaco for them.
Be sure to take a back up of stock rom.
There are lots of rom's which are on Gingerbread . Explore this place for the same.
It's possible to overlock using the official firmware Defy +?
Already installed the Boot Menu, and still does not appear in SetCPU.
Code:
Build: 4.5.2-51_DFL-50
Version of System: 45.2.500.MB526.Brasil.en.BR
Android 2.3.5

With CWM you can install easily custom roms , make full backups and more. Custom Roms are Android Aftermarketfirmwares. They are in some criteria better than the Original Firmwares. They are faster and got better battery life. ZTE has no official 4.0 and 4.1+4.2 version for Blade. But Custom Roms make this able. I highly recommend the ROM 'ColdFusionX' for Blade. It is Android 4.0 and is the fastest ROM for Blade.
At all you don't need CWM (Clockworkmod = Custom Recovery) , you only need the u_Root.apk from my thread.

No , it is for Blade I.
There is no custom rom for every blade , they all have different chipsets.

What dose this Blade I ; Blade II ; Blade III means ? Is it the Gen of the device ? (My device is Gen 2)
How will I know if the ROM is for my device or not ? Where will I get ROMs for my device ?

It does not matter what GEN your Blade has , when you got CWM to install a rom.
Blade I (1) is the first Blade.
Blade II is a remake of the Blade 1 = new version
Blade III is a remake of the Blade 2 = new version.
Blade II and III are newer than Blade I , so they all have different chipsets and all are different version.
You can see if a rom is made for your device , when you can see one of these names (or more) in description of ROM.
-ZTE Blade
-ZTE Lutea
-BASE Lutea
-DellXCD35
This are all different names , but are the same device.
The ColdFusionX ROM Link which i gave you is for your Blade.
If I Partition my SD Card for using as internal memory , will it be harmful to connect my SD card with PC via USB cable ? or will it do any harm to the apps that I moved to SD card using Link2SD ?
Hello Folks,
My LG P715 is rooted and from Titanium Backup, it shows "system ROM"of 1250 MB with 837 MB used and 413 MB free. How can I utilise the free 413 MB? Do I:
1) Use Titanium Backup to force apks in the system ROM
Or
2) Repartition the system ROM (How do I do this?)
Just my thoughts since I bought this wonderful phone that makes me not bother about battery charge. A true smart phone it is.
*****Edit*****
For the sake of knowledge sharing, I used Link2SD to convert user apps to system apps and froze unnecessary apps. I did not uninstall any stock app to avoid "LG security error" issues. I now have:
"system ROM" of 1250 MB with 1182.5 MB used and 67.5 MB free. Meanwhile, my Internal+Media is 1910 MB with 991 MB free. Simple but effective.
I love XDA!
