Change the value to the customization number of the firmware you want to download.
When asked to reboot, tap 'No'.
Tap 'ro.semc.version.cus_revision' and change the value to 'R1A'.
When asked to reboot, tap 'Yes'.
Part B: downloading firmware with Sony PC Companion
Requirements:
Sony PC Companion
Xperia tablet with locked bootloader
Delete this folder if it already exists:
- Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Mobile\Update Engine\db
- Windows Vista/7/8: C:\ProgramData\Sony Mobile\Update Engine\db
Start Sony PC Companion.
Case A: new software version available
Click 'Update'.
Click 'Accept'.
If you only want to download the firmware without updating, disconnect your tablet as soon as the "Downloading software..." screen appears.
If you disconnected your tablet, this window will appear, which you may close. Otherwise your tablet software will be updated.
Case B: no new software version available
Click 'Your Phone / Tablet is up to date'.
Click 'repair my phone / tablet'.
Click 'Next'.
Repairing your tablet will delete your personal data and settings. If you don't want this, see step 6. Click 'Continue'.
Tick the checkbox and click 'Next'.
If you only want to download the firmware without repairing, disconnect your tablet as soon as the "Downloading software..." screen appears.
If you disconnected your tablet, this window will appear, which you may close. Otherwise your tablet software will be repaired and your personal data will be lost.
Part C: creating an FTF file with Flashtool
Requirements:
Flashtool
Firmware files from Sony PC Companion or Sony Update Service (see part B).
Start Flashtool or Flashtool64 (for 64-bit Windows).
Click 'Tools' > 'SEUS Decrypt'.
Select the 'Source Folder' (copy-pasting this path will not work):
- Sony PC Companion (Windows XP): C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Mobile\Update Engine\db\13740270\blob_fs
- Sony PC Companion (Windows Vista/7/8): C:\ProgramData\Sony Mobile\Update Engine\db\13740270\blob_fs
- Sony Update Service (32-bit Windows): C:\Program Files\Sony Mobile\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs
- Sony Update Service (64-bit Windows): C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony Mobile\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs
Move all 'Available files' to 'Files to convert' by selecting them and clicking the right arrow button.
Click 'Convert'.
Enter the following details:
- Device: your tablet model, e.g. 'SGP311', 'SGP312', 'SGP321', 'SGP341' or 'SGP351' for Xperia Tablet Z (see 'Settings' > 'About tablet' > 'Model number').
- Branding: can be found in the first columns of these tables by looking up the customization number, e.g. 'Customized US'.
- Version: the build number of the firmware, e.g. '10.1.1.A.1.307'.
Move all files from 'folder list' to 'Firmware content' except *.ta files (e.g. simlock.ta, preset1.ta, cust-reset.ta, ...) by selecting them and clicking the right arrow button.
Click 'Create'.
When you see 'Bundle creation finished', your FTF will be in 'C:\Flashtool\firmwares'. If your combination of device/branding/build is not yet available on xda-developers forum, please be so kind to share it (see part D).
To save about 2 GB of disk space, delete this folder:
- Sony PC Companion (Windows XP): C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Mobile\Update Engine\db\13740270\blob_fs
- Sony PC Companion (Windows Vista/7/8): C:\ProgramData\Sony Mobile\Update Engine\db\13740270\blob_fs
- Sony Update Service (32-bit Windows): C:\Program Files\Sony Mobile\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs
- Sony Update Service (64-bit Windows): C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony Mobile\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs
Part D: sharing your FTF on xda-developers forum
Upload your FTF to a file host. I use Dev-Host for this purpose, but it only supports files up to 512 MB, so I use WinRAR to pack my FTF with the following options: 'Compression method' = 'store' (since FTF is already compressed), 'Split to volumes, size' = '512 MB'. Of course you can use a different file host and archiver if required. Please note that Google Drive, Dropbox and Box all have bandwidth quotas, so your shared files may be disabled if they are downloaded too much.
Create a new thread on xda-developers forum in 'Xperia ZL General' and include at least the following information:
- Device
- Build number
- Android version
- Customization version
- Region
- Branding
- Download links
Here is an example: [STOCK ROM][FTF] Xperia Z (C6603) 10.1.1.A.1.253 Generic BE (Unbranded/Belgium)
If this post was helpful, don't forget to click the 'Thanks' button.
Sorry to sound like a tool but why are .ta files excluded from the FTF? What exactly are they?
Excellent guide by the way
Do I need to worry?
Ok. So at the step
- "Move all files from 'folder list' to 'Firmware content' except *.ta files (e.g. simlock.ta, preset1.ta, cust-reset.ta, ...) by selecting them and clicking the right arrow button."
I forgot to do except *.ta files. So at the end I get FTF with *.ta files. And I flash it.

no. Flashtool ignores TA while flashing.
ANY or LAST?
I need sgp321 10.4.B.0.569 (CE1 or EU3), but the current is 10.5.1.A.0.283.
Is it really possible to download any firmware (as in the title of the thread), or only the last?

Only the last
Also a much better method exists than the one explained in the OP - just go to Devices > Check Updates in Flashtool and follow the unintuitive process of double clicking and right clicking, and it can download firmwares direct from Sony

[*Fixed*] WiFi Not Connecting Error {First Comprehensive Step by Step Tutorial}
Hi folks,
This is a ray of hope for those who have been stuck with their dead WIFi radio and have been unable to fix it, even after changing the ROM/Radio Version.
Code:
Tested on: O2 xda Orbit ARTE200
hTc Artemis P3300
{

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Earlier Error: WiFi turns on (Shows moving Logo/Detects Available Networks) but, never able to connect, despite everything (Settings/Pass Key) been All Right. The icon Never goes Static (i.e. No Connection could be established between the available WiFi network in Range, and the WiFi Radio of the device.)
Solution follows. Read carefully, and do the following.
The ZIP Package Contains 9 files (plus TWO FOLDERS):
Code:
" MyBackUP [Folder]
Restore From Here [Folder]
backup. bat
Cert_SPCS.cab
Disable_Security.cab
EnableRapi.cab
itsutils.dll
pdocread.exe
pdocwrite.exe
restore.bat
Tutorial.txt
"
Unzip & Extract the contents of the archive to Desktop in a Folder. Name it "WiFi Fix" (without the quotes).
Tutorial:
STEP 1: Note down your IMEI on a piece of Paper/ Notepad & keep it safe (Get it by dialing *#06# on your default Phone Dialer). Remove SIM & Storage Card. Your device must be SPL Unlocked. Do it first, if not already done. Connect your PPC to your PC/Laptop. Enable ActiveSync (Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) (Windows Vista & Windows7). Make sure to confirm the "CONNECTED" sign on your PDA & PC. And make sure to keep the WiFi radio on your PPC "TURNED OFF".
STEP 2: Once connection is established, transfer the following files to your PDA and install in Device Memory (Preferably not in the Storage Card), if not already installed. Restart/Soft Reset your PDA. Wait untill the device Restarts and the connection is re-established. (Skip this step if the above three files were pre-installed).
Code:
" Cert_SPCS.cab
Disable_Security.cab
EnableRapi.cab "
STEP 3: Run "backup.bat". A Command prompt window will appear and Two new files will be generated, namely:
Code:
" CID.bin
GSM.bin "
STEP 4: Move (Cut & Paste) these two files to the 'MyBackUp" FOLDER. Overwrite, if already existing. These are your BackUp data, save them carefully in that folder.
STEP 5: Open the FOLDER "Restore From Here". Copy two files from this folder and paste them on the main foder (called ROOT or "WiFi Fix"), namely (overwrite if already existing):
Code:
" CID.bin
GSM.bin "
The Folder now contains the following 11 files (plus TWO FOLDERS):
Code:
" MyBackUP [Folder]
Restore From Here [Folder]
backup. bat
CID.bin
Cert_SPCS.cab
Disable_Security.cab
EnableRapi.cab
GSM.bin
itsutils.dll
pdocread.exe
pdocwrite.exe
restore.bat
Tutorial.txt "
STEP 6: Run "restore.bat". A command window will appear, and it will fix the errors. Restore your own IMEI using Artemis Sim Unlock.exe /
Wizard Service Tools. Insert SIM & Memory Card.
Reboot your device, and getgoing with your WiFi, revived!
Wait a while before your device connects to Wireless Network for the first time. Next time onwards connections will take place in less than amoment.

A thread without a reply either means its too perfect to be commented about, or its too useless to spend a word for it.
I wonder if I should consider deleting this topic.

DISCLAIMER: This is neither my invention nor my discovery. Its the hard work of all members which I am just explaining in very very simple , step wise manner
CREDITS: XDA, Modaco, Sorg, tacchan23, Ham3r, .................
IMPORTANT: EVEN IF I SAY ITS VERY SIMPLE, ITS LENGTHY, REQUIRES PATIENCE:: YOU NEED TO CAREFULLY DO EACH AND EVERY STEP AS SAID OTHERWISE U MIGHT END UP SCREWING YOUR DEVICE ( extreme less chances if you follow the steps .. its really easy !! )
THIS METHOD REQUIRES FLASHING - BACK UP ALL YOUR IMPORTANT DATA
THE FLASHING INVOLVES ONLY PDA PART i.e only NB0 part so that you dont lose your WARRANTY in any case
Even if you make any blunder in the procedure, u always have a chance of recovering and reflashing
1) First, you require a ROM dump of your present rom.
For this, there is a wonderful app by SORG - DskDump
Download dskdump.exe :: http://www.mediafire.com/?bookep9ddbxup
Insert your separate SD Memory Card (My Storage doesnt help) and then run the "dskdump.exe" on ur phone.
Wait around 1-2 minutes and it will notify you by message box at the end of process. Dump of ROM will be saved to file "rom_dump.bin" on SD card.
2) Copy this "rom_dump.bin" file to your PC
3)
a) Download this ROM Tool by wes58 from here::
http://www.mediafire.com/?bookep9ddbxup
Run "romTool.exe" and Do as shown in figure::
This will give u a new flashable .nbo file which you need to flash using Octans mini posted by tacchan23
Download OCTANS_Mini.v2.11.exe ::: http://www.mediafire.com/?bookep9ddbxup
B) FLASHING STEPS: by sorg and tacchan23
0) Make sure to install the Samsung_CDMA_modem_4_1_.34.zip driver ::: http://www.mediafire.com/?bookep9ddbxup
1) Make sure your phone is not connected to your PC; if it is, disconnect it.
2) Make sure to Turn off your phone.
3) Start OCTANS mini.... Select the .nb0 button and open the new .nb0 file you got from Finished ROM folder
4) Press "Detect" button.
5) Connect Phone to computer (make sure phone was turned off before connecting)
IMPORTANT: Use your USB cable only, dont use other extension wires or other adapters
6) As OCTANS detect phone, press the "Start" button.
7) Wait till whole operation end; the phone will restart itself once or twice to update everything then its ready to set up again.
4) EXTRACTING shell32.exe and aygshell.dll
Use any third party file explorer (resco/ total commander /etc.. ) and copy these two files from the "Windows" directory in your phone to "My Storage"
1) shell32.exe
2) aygshell.dll (this is a hidden file, enable "show hidden files" in your file explorer application)
Transfer these 2 files to ur PC
5) DECOMPILING THESE 2 FILES
For this you require 2 apps:
1) reversmode.exe
2) RecMod.exe
DOWNLOAD THESE FROM HERE
http://www.mediafire.com/?bookep9ddbxup
NOW , place 4 files in a new folder : 1) reversmode.exe 2) RecMod.exe 3) shell32.exe 4) aygshell.dll
Follow this gif/video carefully:
( If u have problem in viewing this gif/video, download it from here :: http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/525/32493337.gif )
Drag the shell32.exe over reversmode.exe . . . this will turn shell32 into a folder
Then Drag the aygshell.dll over reversmode.exe . . . this will turn aygshell.dll into a folder
5) MODIFYING THE FILES::
Download and Install this HxD (Hex editor) ON YOUR PC from here ::
http://www.mediafire.com/?bookep9ddbxup
CREDITS for this method :: Ham3r
Follow the steps shown in the gif/video carefully
(If u have problem in viewing this gif/video, download it from here :: http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/744/51330581.gif )
This is for taskbar transparency.
Run HxD
Open S001 (in shell32.exe folder)
Search for same hex code::
FF 00 00 00 FF FF FF FF
Edit the first FF and write as 00 ( i.e zero zero : for maximum transparency)
Save the file
Delete the S001.bak file that is formed
(If u have problem in viewing this gif/video, download it from here :: http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/2263/64723662.gif )
This is for softkeys transparency.
Similarly for aygshell.dll
Run HxD
Open S001 (in aygshell.dll folder)
Search for same hex code::
FF 00 00 00 FF FF FF FF
Edit the first FF and write as 00 ( i.e zero zero : for maximum transparency)
Save the file
Delete the S001.bak file that is formed
6) REMAKE THE ORIGINAL FILES
Follow carefully as shown in video
(If u have problem in viewing this gif/video, download it from here :: http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/7821/87182786.gif )
Drag the shell32.exe folder over RecMod.exe . . . this will turn shell32 into a file
Then drag the aygshell.dll folder over RecMod.exe . . . this will turn aygshell into a file
The new files will be inside their respective folders
7) Transfer these 2 new files to your phone and copy them to ur phone memory's "Windows" folder
Say yes to any overwrite prompts
8) Restart your phone
That's it... long but easy and fruitful procedure !!
BOTTOMLINE: Again, Credits to all original app makers
I have tried to modify these files. No success
1. It was impossible to copy .exe and .dll from phone (with Resco Explorer). It was files with 0 lenghth.
I have used for modification packs from dump of ROM. FF was replaced to 00, packed back to .exe and .dll and they was copied with replacement in Windows folder. After soft reset it was error message but after pressing Ok all was working normal but top and bottom bars was non transparent
ROM - JG5 WM 6.5
There 's a method more simple : install the app : wizard background, it's free and it's done.
You messed up all tutorial my friend......

Hi,
I tried installing this rom on B1-710.
It does not give me any error ... just installation aborted.
I copied the files to the specified folders.
Where am I doing wrong?
There is no build.prop in the rom.
If you upload another version, please use a faster download server. Zippyshare is a good alternative.
Thank u.

Thanks for u, and, You have read or watch the video step by step or read the mode in the thread now :3
emmmm..... I don't know how to explain my situation here. So, i cut to the chase. my device were bricked right now. Same as the "beautiful brick" that you've mentioned in the thread... can you help me ? Pretty please.... :'(
Most threads are really old, so I am starting a new one.
And one of better ones was just locked and deleted
I have Xperia Z2 D6503 with locked bootloader.
Sadly at this moment pretty much every single thread you find is 5+ years old and most links are dead.
You can find those files online but question is are those same files you need.
You might download the wrong file with same name.
So I will either update the links if I find the files or I will link the best root method if any at this present time.
And if you have any files or info to share, do so here.
So far,as of creation of this thread, nothing is available.
Ok so I will just update you with news.
I found everything I wanted from Russian folks at 4pda, simply put, once again Russians come trough when no one else could.
Spoiler: My rant
Funny thing, I always knew I should learn Russian and German, for doing things no one else can and fixing stuff, those two places/nations are simply THE best.
LIterally every time I needed something I found it on a Russian website, and every time I needed to fix something, some cool German helped out.
I am attaching the archive with all files needed to root the Xperia Z2 with locked bootloader, with instructions inside, do this at your own risk as usual.
Btw since I plan to host these files forever they should be available at all times as long as these hosts dont remove em.
Please dont contact me if they don't work, I only keep them there, I dont have them on my PC

I would like to document my little journey here for anyone who might need help.
So first flashed the stock firmware by downloading it via XperiFirm+5.6.2+(by+Igor+Eisberg)
But that tool only downloads "File" files, it downloaded 4 of them, but you need only one FTF file.
So I used FlashTool 0.9.34.0(also called Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde), it has a tool, Tools > Bundles > FILESET decrypt and by following the Youtube video I used that tool to create the FTF file I needed but for some reason the FlashTool put that FTF file in C:\Users\USERNAME\.flashTool\firmwares
I also needed to install the the drivers for my phone as well as fastboot drivers, this is covered in the original guide that I included in the archive above.
Steps 7,9 and 10.
Btw sorry if I skip something I did, you can fill in the gaps, I'm sure.
Anyways after FlashTool detected my device I flashed the stock firmware(23.5.A.1.291).
Then comes the moment of rooting.
So all the drivers are installed, files are there and nicely organizd, I am ready.
I opened both guides, the original one and Russian one translated to English.
Turned out both added up together to create the ultimate guide, I will explain why in a minute.
-Put the files on SD, check;
-Rename the 575 kernel files extension to .TFT , check;
-Turn off the phone, check;
-FlashTool is opened and waiting,check;
-At this moment I actually clicked on lightning bolt icon, then I clicked Flashmode and then under Source folder I located the folder where 575.tft kernel file is located.
Then I selected THE FOLDER
After that under Firmwares, the 575 kernel shows up and I go trough drop down arrows to click on it 23.5.A.0.575.
Then I click on kernel.sin in Content section.
Then under Device filter I double click and find Xperia Z2;
-At this point I slide the Firmware Selector window to the right and I don't close it, so I can see the console and what Flashtool is reporting, the console would be the part where Flashtool is writing something, all that text under those big icons(lightning bolt,BLU,lock,key..)
-After that I hold the volume down and connect the USB cable to the phone
And I notice Flashtool tells me phone is connected in flashmode
-I click Flash in the Firmware Selector window that was still open
-It does its thing and reports success.
-I disconnect the phone and close the Flashtool as Russian instructions also recommend it, dont skip this
-I turn on the phone, all boots fine and I do check the kernel by opening the service menu(dial *#*#7378423#*#* and find Service info, first line Phone software version at the end theres .575)
Actually at this point I had minor ****pants moment, Service menu wouldn't open instantly, took about 20 seconds
-Then I proceeded to flash the recovery
But here I ran into the problem, error adb server version (40) doesn't match this client (36)
That is because 3 files inside Recovery_for_MM575-291>files folder, named
adb.exe , AdbWinApi.dll , AdbWinUsbApi.dll
need to be replaced with version 40.
So I browsed online and downloaded platform-tools_r28.0.2-windows
Here is where you can find more versions
adb-win/SDK_Platform-Tools_for_Windows at master · awake558/adb-win
adb.exe fastboot.exe. Contribute to awake558/adb-win development by creating an account on GitHub.
github.com
Theres a readme that tells you what file is what version.
So I extracted the archive and inside the platform-tools folder I found the 3 files, copied them and replaced those files I mentioned earlier located in Recovery_for_MM575-291>files .
-After that I run the install.bat without admin right actually and it all goes smooth.
-Instantly phone rebooted into recovery which made me smile
Also I pressed any key to continue and that closed the install.bat window that opened earlier on the computer.
-Then I installed SuperSU, no problem there.
-I press the arrow to go back,
-And find and finally install 291 kernel.
-After that I click reboot button
-Phone reboots without any issues.
Boom, rooted.
Hope and wish you all the best with rooting yours.
According to my experience and reanalyzing current status, I could give this as a permanent order for moving from Locked Bootloader to having a Magisk rooted ROM.
(Any error might be corrected, if an explanation is given.)
1) Flashtool's Flashmode
Flash D6503_23.5.A.0.575_kernel.ftf (which includes loader.sin and kernel.sin)
2) Backup TA partition with backupTA_v2 by Jens Andersen (XDA: rayman, Twitter: @droidray, GitHub: EnJens)
3) Reset to factory defaults
4) Unlock Bootloader
https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/get-started/unlock-bootloader/
5) Flashtool's Flashmode
Flash D6503_23.5.A.0.575_kernel.ftf (which includes loader.sin and kernel.sin) again
6) Change recovery with (NEW)_Recovery_for_MM575-291v5 by executing its install.bat
Stay on Stock ROM:
Booting into TWRP
7) Flash root (SuperSU only)
UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.76-20160630161323.zip
8) Flash Z2_23.5.A.1.291_Marshmallow_Kernel_Flasher.zip by moman2000
Change to LineageOS:
7) Wipe cache, dalvik cache, data and system
8) Format data (for encryption removal)
9) Reboot into Fastboot mode
TWRP - Reboot to Bootloader
Flashtool - Fastboot mode
ADB - adb reboot bootloader
Volume down + Power on
10) Flash new kernel extracted from LineageOS
fastboot flash boot boot.img (fastboot flash:raw boot boot.img)
11) Flash new TWRP (twrp-3.3.1-sirius-20200221.img)
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
12) Reboot into recovery for verification (Failsafe)
fastboot boot recovery.img
13) TWRP
Flash ROM
Flash Magisk
14) TWRP or as Magisk module
Install GApps or microG
