A few questions about getting back to stock
My device is curretly like this:
N9005
Knox 0x1
TWRP recovery
Stock Kernel
Stock ROM 4.4.2
I would like to return completly to stock. I know I won't be able to be Knox 0x0 again but I want the stock recovery, kernel and ROM.
My question is: can I simply restore the firmware in Kies to get back to stock (including the recovery)?

You can try, but I doubt that Kies won't let you back to stock since your recovery has been modified.
The easier way is using Odin. Download full stock firmware for your device, and flash it via Odin. No data will be lost.
You can use Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser' to find and download the correct stock firmware for your device.

i am unable to get the official firmware for my note 3 SM-N9005 whose Baseband version is N9005XXUGBOJI and Build number is LRX21V.N9005XXUGBOK6 so please help me find the official firmware and its stock firmware

Baseband is modem not firmware .
Go to sammobile or samsung-updates and find your model .
Select your country and network .

go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N9005/ and select the country of the mobile and if u dont know it then download a app called Phone INFO *Samsung* from the playstore and go to the CSC code tab on that app and look for the original CSC code field (it should be a 3 letters or something) and find that code in the link above in the country selection field and download

Mod edit: Link removed.

[REQ] Stock kernel file

Is it possible for someone to upload stock kernel file for 2.2.1 XXJPY (kernel version is 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1). Version that is flashable via odin, not cwm version.
I am about to flash my kernel with custom one, but would like to have stock kernel near me, just in case that something goes wrong...
Subquestion is:
is it even possible to reflash to stock kernel via odin once you fot custom one (speedmode to be precise)? I think i read somewhere on forum that it is not entirely possible. Does someone have any expirience with this?
Samfirmware (http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm) has all stock firmwares.
Yes of course you can flash back to stock, you just need to make sure that lagfixes are disabled if you enabled one.
But honestly, I'm 100% sure you won't go back to stock after flashing a custom kernel or rom, it's just that much better.

Thank you very much.
But, as I can see, on this page there are whole roms to flash, I wanted only kernel files. Could kernel be downloaded somewhere?
I'm on stock rom 2.2.1 with CF-root kernel.
Haven't seen a stock only-kernel when I searched for it recently on this forum.
I decided now to download the full stock rom from samfirmware instead which I can go back to in case Kies won't allow me to update to Gingerbread. I figured there's no big difference whether I flash a ROM (which includes the kernel) or just the kernel, the effort is the same.
I just learned that returning to stock ROM (kernel) will be little more difficult for me because my phone is T-mobile branded!
If I flash to a stock firmware does that mean kies will then recognise my firmware as offcial so I can download new updates through it. Thanks

You can always use SpoofFW to flash to your original firmware

No as its not the firmware that came with the phone nor its Kies update .
As post above only method once you use Odin is either a backed up copy of original firmware and yes a few backed up or spoof fw .

Ok, this is my real problem. JJE might know solution to it...
Before i start flashing my kernel, ROM etc... I would like insurance that if in a couple of months something dies in my SGS, like speaker or something, I can go to repair shop and have guarantiee.
For that I would have to reverse all changes to virginly clean T-mobile branded ROM.
As I understand, to do that i would have to flash it via Odin with 3 files (PDA, PHONE and CSC).
Currently, when I type *#1234# in phone I get:
PDA - I9000BOJS5
PHONE - I9000XXJPY
CSC - I9000GCROJS4
so I presume that are the files version that must be flashed in Odin.
I managed to find all files except CSC code (for Croatian T-mobile 2.2.1 ROM). Couldn't find it anywhere.
Is it possible to put some Multi CSC and then later change it to right one ( I9000GCROJS4) with spooffw?
Or there is another way to find/backup/extract CSC from my current configuration.
Or another way to get back to stock branded ROM if anything goes wrong?
I can do nandroid backup because I cant get to CWM because i dont have 2e recovery (that is one of reasons I want to flash to another kernel, to get 3e and CWM).
Please help!

What is the error that appears in ODIN? Attach one screenshot if is possible :highfive:
I have a similar question,
I have an S4 with OmegaRom, Knox has been tripped and I want to update and wipe clean to sell.
Do I need to flash the same rom that the Omega one was based upon? (I.E XXUFNC9) Or will any stock 4.4.2 rom work? As I'd like the use the latest BTU one, which is only XXUFNB8
Once I've flashed stock, I undersrtand the KNOX apps won't work again, but will the device still be updatable through OTA and KIES?
Thanks!

1. You can't sell it "CLEAN" coz u tripped KNOX. This can't be reset.
2. You can flash the Stock Rom u want, always being android 4.4.2. I have KNOX: 0x1 and i use latest XXUFNB8 without any problem
3. Yes.

You have some options:
1. Flash a custom firmware through custom recovery.
2. Download the latest firmware and flash it through ODIN. For know what firmware is the best for you, conect it to Kies and tell me the 3 letters close to ur CSC

there is no way to get official update via software update or kies?
its just the update didt arrived for your country and there is 2 solutions :
1- wait till the update arrive
2- download & falsh the Update VIA Odin
if you flash it with odin nothing wrong will happen i just recommend you to backup everything :good:

Where can i download all these firmwares?
Download 4.3 Here
You Want to download 4.4.2 you will need to signup to www.sammobile.com
then enter firmware section then search for your device in search bar "GT-I9500" then choose country and download
PS: if you dont know how to flash VIA Odin Search XDA or Google it

Note 3 softbricked ! Totally depressed ;( .

[EDIT] : softbrick has been fixed but now I have Baseband UNKNOWN and IMEI NULL
currently on stock 4.4.2 Poland.
So I have a SM-9005 note 3. Just recently bought it. Came with 4.3 stock. I decided to jump on the custom rom bandwagon (for which I feel like killing myself). Anyways it shows the "firmware upgrade encountered an issue screen" .
Here is what I did:
1) rooted the stock 4.3
2) tried installing CWM which probably tripped my knox and now I have 0x01
3) I wanted to install the X-NOTE 4.4.2 build rom
4) Came to know that official 4.4.2 update is required to use Xnote 4.4.2 rom
5) Followed this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608178
6) Tried to flash the stock poland 4.4.2 fw using odin .
7) Got -> invalid exr4 image !!
Now , I'm not sure if the bootloader has been updated to 4.4.2 . I think I screwed up after this:
Managed to get CWM Recovery running. I tried to flash the X-Note 4.4.2 zip thinking that the bootloader may have updated to 4.4.2 in the previous failed flash. The process stopped half-way and I got back the CWM recovery scree. So it did not work.
Now the odin mode shows the following:
PRODUCT NAME : SM-N9005
CURRENT BINARY : Custom
REACTIVATION LOCK : OFF
KNOX KERNEL LOCK : 0X0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID : 0X1
I can access CWM recovery. I have no idea how to proceed . Please help :crying: . Currently I'm downloading the X-Note jellybean version. Will try to flash that via recovery . Will that be fine

You can certainly try it, it's actually very difficult to hard brick any device.
Soft-bricked my ex-device (a S4) so many times I can't count them anymore. You've got Odin, so worry not!
My advice: go back to full stock 4.3, update like a normal person would to 4.4, then do like a normal XDA member and root it, and go from there.

Well, if you bought it in Hong Kong, it might give you a clue.
Anyway, is your device a 32 GB varient?
Also, is CM working fine?
What bootloader do you have?
Take a look at my post from a few days ago, it should fix it.
edit/ Just noticed there is new version out, so you can try that one.

Phone Info app from Samsung tells me that the device is Made in China.
Bootloader Version: N9005ZHUDMK1
Baseband Version : N9005ZHUDMJ9
Original CSC Code: XSI
CM11 is working without any problems so far. Google apps and downloading also works.
My device is the 32gigs version.
Also one more thing : i totally do not understand why X-NOTE 4.4.2 kitkat version is not starting up. I'm stuck on the samsung logo screen after installing the ROM from CWM recovery. Also, only the JellyBean version of CWM works and not the KitKat version. Does it have something to do with it. Anyways I installed TWRP but still failed to boot up X-Note 4.4.2 version. I am so badly missing the Touch Wiz features ... :crying:
X-Note Jelly Bean works !! I confer that my Bootloader is still 4.3 . Now how do I go about upgrading safely to Kitkat ? I have the Hong Kong version I think .
