Anyone had any luck? I have read that cifs support is compiled into the kernel but cifs manager reports no device. Perhaps in have the wrong module folder?
I use this a lot as streaming mp4 videos just using a samba browser is way too slow.....

If you are talking about this autoproxy, all your kernel needs to have is be compiled with NAT table support for iptables, and REDIRECT or DNAT targets. That is a very specific question. As was mentioned, most kernels are copies so even the person who compiled it might not know for sure.
Im on villain rom and i cant dawnload any file in sgs2!!!! Attachments are ok, but nothing from net. Someone to hep????
Same issue here.

If you search the VillainRom thread you will see that this is a common problem with the stock browser.
Most people are using another browser such as Opera Mobile.

How to change that lib file? ?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Using root explorer.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Easy fix is to install "Download All Files" from the market. Works great
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Or you can use ASTRO Explorer and look inside the Preferences for a feature to Download All Files.
Xmoo can you please explain in a bit more detail how did you change lib file in root explorer to enable stock browser downloading.I tried downloadallfiles app from market and astro but still can't download some apk and zip files from filesonic servers,it just gets useless htm file
I would have breakfast first... Flashing roms at dawn will ruin your sleep cycle..
Guys anyone has the cifs modules for the stock kernel? I tried various cifs modules but none worked

Hi I am having problems transferring files from my local storage to an external sdcard using 3rd party apps such as ES File Explorer & FX File Explorer, it would seem there is a new restriction for android 4.4.

Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2607215
Or just update ES... They fixed it.

I don't know what has happened to my youtube app, i am unable to play any videos......
I installed the newest version and replaced the earlier one using system app installer........

this may happen if you have ad blocking software installed
Because youtube plays ads at the start of the video if you have ad blocking software installed it will block the ad and come up with that message
Keep pressing touch to retry and it will eventually play the video assuming there is an internet connection
I do not have an adblocking software, but adblock host file might be there....
But let me try first, what you have said.....

I pressed touch to retry many times
but it does'nt seem to work....

I assume you have flashed gapps if you are using a custom rom as the latest version wont work without google services and if you have got any ad blocking software and that includes host files and so on it may stop the latest version working as it includes ads
using adaway is fine - you just have to press try again a few times - any others may stop it working totally
also check your internet connection - if on wifi try on data only and vise versa
Firewall installed?

Maybe the host file in /etc is modified to block ads.
Try move a stock host file in /etc.
I too faced the same problem..
delete "Hosts" file in /etc ..it worked for me..
