Hi i have a GT-i9500 that recently has started acting really weird, the symptoms are.
Computer does not detect the phone, not even as an unrecognized device. It doesn't matter if its on, recovery or download mode.
After it goes to low Battery mode it won't charge with any 2.0 or 2.1 Amp Charger (tried car, iPad and Samsung original). It just charges with 0.5 amp charger (Huawei G510) or connected to a USB 2.0 port.
I have seen issues where the phone display a warning in the screen when charging with the power off, this is not the case, there are no warnings, the device works perfectly normal if you leave out the usb charging and syncing issue, battery lasts as it always has, no overheating, etc.
Changing charger or cord gives the exact same result
The issue was noticed after updating to 4.3 I9500UBUEMJ8
Developer options are enabled, so is USB Debugging
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Check the huawei charger and it is not charging either, it just works with the laptop USB, any ideas?

Uncheck USB debugging, reboot ur phone and try again.
EDIT: Where are u from? Maybe is problem of your firmware.

Hey joku thank for the reply, I tried disabling USB debugging but the result was the same after reboot. I'm from Colombia, the 4.3 i'm using is brazilian but colombian FW are brazilians localized it's usually the same baseband and all.

My network operator is indeed claro, the phone was unlocked international it didn't come with claro branding obiously. That's why i used brazilian Fw because i usually have good signal with brazilian and trinidad y tobago FW on booth my old gs2 and gs3

I found the correct firmware for ya. Indeed to Colombia didnt arrive the 4.3. And sorry for dissapoint u but u are using wrong firmware coz Colombia have own firmware for unlocked devices: - DOWNLOAD HERE - (but this is android 4.2.2)

Yes but that doesn't solve the problem of the phone not being detected by the PC so i can't use odin or KIES so firmware changing is hardly an option unless i use something like mobile odin

Well. I think u are wrong but anyway the firmware u are using uses Kies 3 (android 4.3). Try to install Kies 3 and the drivers again. How u updated ur phone to MJ8 if u couldnt use Kies?

I used Odin, I had no problem until then but 2 weeks ago it started acting up. I read around and found that some people have been having charging issues after 4.3 tought it doesn't look like a widespread issue.

the problem is that the pc won't detect the phone, ther is no driver install, no device o device managment, no drive mounting, etc. so obiously kies 2 o 3 won't detect the phone

Done that but nop, it didn't help, the damn thing doesn't charge from the wall or sync to the pc. it only charges from a usb port but no detection.

Hey how are you guys? Almost a month user of this amazing android device note 3 LTE version in UAE.
Now I have updated this device via OTA, not thru Kies and now I am on kitkat 4.4.2
Not rooted and everything is on stock, don't want to trip on Knox
I got 1 minor glicth I am experiencing each and every time I boot and reboot my note 3 LTE version
it tells me that;
"Error Initializing USB"
What does this mean? I tried to transfer data back and forth to my PCs Laptops but USB functionality seems ok,
I am just afraid maybe this is hardware problem?
Can someone please Enlighten me on this minor issue?

Don't know the cause, but I am getting the same message.
I am rooted but running mainly stock.
Not aware of any problems caused by this.

but nowadays I am afraid to use ODIN as it might trip my KNOX, I still want my warranty at this point..
I have had all my times before in modding and flashing roms from galaxy s1 until my nexus 4 but I don't have the time and courage anymore...
What to do what to do?

My Knox bit has been set for over six months. I have no fear of using Odin.
I have reflashed with Odin 3.09
It didn't fix the problem.
Having said this, other than the error message I haven't had any issues relating to connection to pc via usb including usb 3 mode
Or connection via usb otg to usb dac.

Well how are you guys doing? Couple of weeks back I installed some Samsung OTA updates and so far that error prompt in every restart and start up made by the Note 3 is gone now!!
Furthermore, we are now able to root even with the latest stock firmware thru towelroot by none other than the greatest mr. geohot!
Donate to him and give homage!
Root and defeat Samsung KNOX!!!
So I got note 3 after a week or so I rooted it
But then give or take 3 weeks time
One morning I woke up and my phone was saying not registerd on network :/
I unrooted rooted unrooted rooted
I did factory reset I even sent it back to samsung
They sent me back after 2 weeks
Saying you damaged ur phone somehow
And we cant fix it
If we fix this its gona cost us more then the handset price can u realy beliv this :s
Anyway my point is my £500 gone in notime
So please all I ask is if anybody could help me fixing this tht wud b much appreciated
And whoz ever solution works im willing to donate £20 I promise

Check to see if you still have your imei or not... That's probably the reason, you lost your efs/imei...
If that's the case then if your made a efs backup like you should have,restore it. If not, try flashing stock.

Did you test your sim card and make sure it is ok? Try to out this sim card into another phone and make sure it works? Put another gud sim card into your Note 3 and check if the problem still persist?
Dial *#0011# and check for the RX, TX value? Can you post this screenshot here?
Samsung is really crap with customer service

Hi everyone,
i got almost the same problem. My SM-N9005 was on the Standard TouchWiz Rom (4.3, rooted) when i updated to 4.4.2 via Kies and rooted it again.
Now my Phone shows me signal bars but tells me "Emergency calls only". I still have my IMIE.
I reflashed the stock ROM but that did not fix my problem sadly.
Hope you can help me!
UPDATE:
I reflashed the stock recovery once again and factory reset/wiped the data and now it somehow works again. Maybe that helps
UPDATE 2:
It seems like that was just working for a short moment, now after flashing the X-Note ROM (and Kernel) the "not registered in Network" message comes again though i got like 4 bars. The bars just are random somehow and jump up and down every few seconds.
Another Update:
While charging the phone (via PC or via the original Charger) i get a Message that it stopped charging because the battery temperature is too low. I Hope nothing went physically wrong?
your note 3 seems to be unlocked by SPT box or BST dongle
select wcdma/gsm or 3g/2g in mobile network and your network will connect

Thanks for the reply, but my I bought my note 3 unlocked and new from my carrier and havent changed anything regarding the IMIE.
I was thinking about the modem beeing broke down while i updated to kitkat, and therefore flashing a new one. Any ideas on that?

Did you update to 4.4.2 too? Because thats when mine stopped working. Maybe its the update that destroyed somehting, for the AT&T versions they had quite some problems as i read online...

If everything else fails try to write in Odin (or better yet in Mobile Odin Pro) just the modem - and aim for an older version, something like MI6 (present in MI7 firmware) or MJ1. With Mobile Odin Pro you MUST be on stock recovery and it will work perfectly first time, with normal Odin there are some reports that you might need to write it twice or something like that - search around.

Tried that, had the same problems with the MI6, and with the MJ1 it got stock when i tried to unlock it...I was on the Xnote ROM though, Ill once again will try flashing the stock rom...
did you try another sim card ?
Sadly, the sim card works in my Note 2 without any problems... I think its sth that got physically destroyed somehow. When i plug it into the charger is says "stopped charging battery too cold"

So i've send in my phone for repair after it didnt work again (no network), they did not find anything and send it back to me. Then it all of a sudden worked for like half a week (I flashed Xnote B.15 right away ) Now i have the same error again, it suddenly stopped working again though i did not install/change anything...
I hope someone gets a solution for that, else ill say goodbye Samsung and Knox and hello Sony/HTC or w/e my next phone will be...

I updated my grand 2 to 4.4.2. But I found slow net issues.
Then I try to back to 4.3 jellybean. But I flash again by odin.
But suddenly hang in updating. I remove battery. But I put battery now my phone not charge not going to on .
I use many methods to make again download mode. But fail.
I make jtag but fail no boot.
Please give me any way to put back my grand 2 in normal position.

u should go to samsung care and tell them while updating ur mobile with kies ur pc got restarted due to power failure now ur stuck in this condition same problem happened with me and i did this same thing

No you can't downgrade back to Jelly Bean. Doing so will hard brick your phone.

The only solution is to take it to a service centre. no other options yet.
try reflashing kitkat firmware.
if you able to go to download mode you can try reflashing latest build of kitkat through odin. Good luck...try reflashing kitkat firmware.

yes no other option for this i myself has faced this tried every thing and at last went to the service centre the asked me whether its rooted or not
never say yes tell them that your were upgrading through kies and the pc rebooted and then phone is not booting then they will not ask you anything simply they will change the motherboard and upload the IEMI and other software and give it to you(estimated time of repair depends on the availability of the hardware)

I rooted Lollipop before downgrade!!!
Now what i have to do? Someone can help me?

First Charge your battery , your device wont be able to charge it but you have to charge using another A5 or any other way and then you have to try again to enter download mode. without battery you cannot do anything.

Jackeagle i tryed to charge, but nothing happend.... black screen!!!
I tryed to do an USB Jig (homemade) and the results was the same..... nothing!

Hi! I think they can't verify if you have root your phone because the phone won't turn on, they don't have access to Download Mode to see if KNOX is triggered. So, Just send your phone to Samsung and wait... :fingercrossed: I think your motherboard is died.
Also, you may try to press the power button for 15 seconds at least

My phone has 30 days.... it was a present for my birthday
So everybody on the same boat and no solutions at moment.....
August 5th I went care closer and I said that I've only updated my phone to the latest version .... hopefully good... when i know what happened i will write a post here.

But why android has this kinds of problems.... soft brick-hard brick etc...??? I was an Iphone User before this A5 and never a problem.... Jailbroken everytime without problems.

Normally, it's not good to downgrade your firmware. iPhone is different
I think you should send your phone to Samsung and they'll replace it. Don't Worry

Has anyone yet an idea how to avoid it (execpt not downgrading or custom recovery) ... seems to have something to do with bootloaders
when you downgrade lollipop from kitkat you must need factory reset in recovery mode.

I only did it from touchwiz, but can anyone explain what happens that it hard bricks = no chareger symbol, no nothing. It seems to destroy both bootloaders, as even a JIG did not help ....

Did you slove your probleme?
You need to use debrick image to unbrick your phone. Get it from someone who has same device as you.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have seen videos for galaxy s4 and s3 but can't find one for our a5.
Bro, you need to run commands in terminal emulator. Google it, you will find it.
