Disable Camera on Touch HD

Hi
i would like to buy the Touch HD but at my company no camera are allowed
Is there a way to disable / remove the camera
Today I have QTEK S200 and I disabled the camera in SW but I think security now would not like this solution
Thank's for any help
Moti
Deleting the photo software should do it, but I don't know the security policy of your company. You should ask them for a solution.
Also need to disable the camera
I also need to disable the camera since it is not allowed at my work place. What should I do??
Thank you,
shilera
Easiest solution would be to remove the "Photo and Videos" tab from the manilla then put some gaffer tape over the back or get those covers that will cover the back entirely.
Dont they allow putting black tape under the back cover, and then over the cover aswell, or use a silicone case without pinhole for the camera. This way you would have to remove the back cover in order to remove the tape. So no direct photo taking. You could try to find a way to deinstall the photo app aswell. Just trying to remove some folder or registry keys should do the trick (try this when you havent fully configured your phone yet, so if something goes wrong you can hard reset).
This phone has two cameras, so if you are going to cover it with something, do the same with the VGA camera on the front.
mmmm
Most secure sites around the world have a no camrea policy , this does not mean how ever the fact that any device taht can take photo's would be removed, other wise all phone scine .. well scince phones's had camreas would not be alllowed in the building, go to an MD and remove his Blackberry.. see what happends!!...
The rule means dont take photo's.... so dont.
it is possible to tell me, how to disable the 2 cameras in the HD?
Is there any way to disable/lock the camera button on HTC S710 with AllKeys(true). I tried it but it disables all keys without the camera button and function keys on qwerty keyboard.
Please let me know
It's like carrying a GUN in some places.. loaded or otherwise immaterial. ANd such places allow only devices with camera physically removed. In case of HD provided you void warranty main camera is a separate broad I guess. But front camera can still be a problem.

dropped tytn

i dropped my tytn the otherday now the slide out keyboard wont work,or lite up, does this mean some things come off in side and i need to dissmantle it?,
Be an idea to check... Do a search for the HTC Hermes service guide and you will find out what you need to do to take apart. You should only need to remove the back cover to see if the connector has come out. Should be on the left hand side about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom next to the bottom protective plate on the Main board. Push connector in(sorry, don't have photo's). If it clips back in the that was the problem, if it still won't work then other problem.
Be careful of the battery catch and camera switch when replacing the back cover...

Issues After Screen Replacement on G2

So a customer has informed me that they are having issues with their G2 after a screen replacement.
The issues are:
-Screen is blurry (obviously will need a new screen)
-Knock on isn't working.
-When she unlocks the phone it sometimes locks itself again.
-Screen does not wake back up when proximity sensor shuts it off during a call.
I am guessing that all of the issues are to do with the new screen.
Any help would be great.
Did you update the touch firmware for knock on? Maybe the proximity sensor not waking up has to do with the modem. Idk I'm a noob to these things but that's my opinion on what's wrong.
Was/is it a genuine LG screen?

No. It is not a genuine screen. It is an aftermarket screen. I've repaired hundreds and hundreds of phones with third party parts. Never had any issues like this.
the g2 is locked down tighter than apple products. i wouldn't be surprised if the aftermarket screen is a result of all those issues.

Do you have a more detailed reason behind the issues?
Still looking for some info.
it's the proximity sensor. I put a little piece of electricians tape on the pad that pushes the proximity sensor into the phone screen and that solved all my issues. Message me if you have any questions

I have the same problem. Could you please be more specific on the solution you found. Would a photo be too much to ask?
Many thanks!

Hi, I had lots of issues with my proximity sensor too, and I just fixed it. Most of the time the sensor would detect an obstacle at 0cm, preventing knock-on and knock-code, making it very hard to unlock the phone and keeping the screen black during/after calls.
My issue was actually a small pad behind the sensor, that's supposed to push it against the screen: that pad was too thin!
Adding some adhesive tape on that pad solved the issue for good! That pad is on the rear buttons assembly (the one that is hold with 7 screws).
More precision about how to fix:
- remove the rear door.
- remove the 7 screws holding the plastic assembly holding the rear button.
- remove the rear button assembly.
- loot at the rear of that button assembly: on the top left there's a small soft pad that's supposed to push the proximity sensor against the screen.
- add some thick adhesive tape on that pad
- put everything back together: put button assembly in place and clip it, put back 7 screws, clip back rear door.
Agree with the crowd, it's the prox sensor. Same thing happened to me when I replaced a screen recently. The tell tale sign is when making a call, the screen will turn off. This is because it's already sensing that the phone is being held up to the user's face when in fact it's a false positive. I believe there's one of two reasons:
1.) Following screen install, the prox sensor is located an incorrect distance from the small window it looks through. In other words its too close or too far away.
2.) The prox sensor is not correctly centered in the window it looks through and needs slightly tweaked up/down/left/right to be perfectly centered.
I couldn't determine beyond a doubt which one of the above was the case or perhaps both. But after taking it apart a few times and tweaking the position of the sensor, mine started working ok and has now been functional for a few months without issue.

Many thanks on the very detailed instructions. I will try them out tomorrow. What I have noticed though, is that I can see the LED through the proximity sensor window, so it might be a misalignment issue as well. Any suggestions on where to buy a new screen for the G2 ( preferably Aliexpress or ebay).

Front and back cameras no longer work after replacing front camera

Recently my front camera got a crack in it, I decided to replace it with a new front camera. After placing the new front camera and plugging in the flex cable I started the device and the camera apps won't start. I have tried testing the camera using the hardware test *#0*# and for both the front and back camera I get an error message reading "The number of cameras is 0"
I have tried replugging the flex cable for the front camera, I lifted the motherboard to replug the flex cable for the back camera in case it came unplugged in the repair process but have had no luck so far getting the cameras to work. Everything else on the device works perfectly except the front and back camera and the iris scanner.
Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately I was never able to solve this problem and no longer use the S8. I hope you manage to solve it, best of luck.
