Camera app crash - Xperia Z1 General

I just registered that the camera app crashes, when the light conditions are changing. It´s a evidence of a poor coded camera app by Sony, hope it will be fixed. http://youtu.be/7bKt7oAon_c
UPDATE: My fault, the camre app is OK sorry.

Lol? I just can't belive how people are stupid... CAMERA APP IS NOT POOR CODED! It's working great. It's not CRASHING APP, IT'S NORMAL... Stop making such a stupid threads and get a life...

You say it is normal ? Ok than sorry I will remove the video, but what is the reason to shut down ?

Clear cache, factory reset, whatever, but nobody else is reporting this "problem"

Interesting, I had this problem on 4.2 JB too and after the update to 4.3 I´ve done a factory reset, and this problem is tehre as well. I think it is something to do with the light source ? I don´t know... I thought you people know the answer on it and will not just call me stupid.

Then maybe its a hardware problem.
Any way you can try another z1 under the same conditions?

no I can´t. But if you have at home a fluorescent lamp you can try the same. In daily conditions the camera works good, so it doesn´t bothers me too much, but I was just curious...

I can assure you that I cannot recreate this issue. The camera app on my Xperia Z1 did not crash even once -neither on Android 4.2 nor on 4.3.

This happened to me, I was rooted at the time. So flashed and unrooted rom. Don't use camera much so not happened again.

Sorry
I was so stupid the camera app doesn´t crash, it is just shuts down itself because of inactivity.... omg please delete this thread

Hehehe...that's O.K mate, you realized what you did...
Always try to search for solution and answers - then, if you can't find it, open thread and ask or ask in already opened thread (with a similar or same theme).
But guys, come on, don't be rude...
We all, sometimes, write something stupid...

[Q] Screen Issue

Hi,
I've been viewing the forums now since the phone was released and haven't seen anyone come across the problem I have now.
Basically, the screen will swipe and press things on its own without my input. It happens everyday but not all time.
I have a rooted 2.3.3 R800i from UK with locked bootloader.
Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.
Thanks.
This happens to me when there's moisture on the screen. Wiping it off always fixes the problem. Make sure your fingers are dry when using it.

Thanks for the suggestiron, however after trying this the problem still occurs.
So now I tried changing the screen protector but nothing has changed.

Yes it's similar. Except its not just typing, it can be on the homescreen and my widgets/icons open on their own without me touching anything.

I had this exact problem too.
It seems to be fixed with the newest firmware upgrade we recently got.
My guess is that it is a touchscreen hardware problem that they have managed to fix via a software solution.
ok, I might have to try the update then.
Only problem is will it wipe off my root?

Made Xperia Z damn loud with some mods

Hi,
Yesterday my vibrator broke on my phone and this made me to open the phone for the second time. I took off the backglass and tried to fix it but had no succes. But since I really don't put my phone in water I decided to expiriment with stuff.
I always wanted make my xperia Z louder so I installed zero's puresound mod but it was still not loud enough, so I took off the sponge/rubber and the loudspeakers glass. I can't believe that this phone is so loud now atm. All I ever wanted from this phone just with one easy mod done.
If your warranty is void and don't care about the waterproofness you can also do this. Since I'm going to take my phone apart again I will take some pictures.
I'm not going to shower and take phonecalls anyway, before this I never had a waterproof phone so I can live with that.

Did you managed to put the back plate on without replacing the adhesive? Is it stiff?
Sent from my Xperia Z
Yes, I just heated up with a hairdryer until it melted and paste it back on. It's already my second time that I've done it.

It's louder than a iphone 5 now, the speaker is very powerfull of this phone but we've never realized it

About 30 to 60 seconds. I think that the glue lacks quality since it's easy to take it off. The glue used on the battery is made of better quality. Could be because the glue on the battery is thicker

We can do it together.
Download sound meter from the market and then play one of the sony ringtones and tell me which one by name. I'll do the same and we'll both see by decibels how louder your speaker is compared to my stock one.

Black lines on the camera?

Just wondering if any one else has experienced this problem where occasionally black lines appear across the screen on the camera? Seems like a battery problem to me.. any ideas?
*You can see it the most just after I take a picture

I couldnt see any black lines in the video
Watch it again maybe it was hard to see if you're viewing the video from a phone because of the orientation on YouTube

Compare these 2 screenshots taken with a half a second gap in between( look at the edges of the screen)
Only seems to do it on the Samsung camera app, I downloaded jb camera from playstore and no problems there but the camera sucks in comparison

That looks remarkably like Interlacing. Using a US model, by any chance?
It's probably just the software re-rendering the live view.

Have you tried emptying the data and cache of the camera app? Cleared the phone cache? Factory reset?

All of the above, plus do you have any pending software updates available to you? Does it do it everywhere you go? I thought I had a problem with my N2 camera once, but it was actually the florescent lighting in the room.

Omg i just cleared the data/cache in applications manager and then started the camera up again and it's perfect no sign of any more black lines /flickering!

I see the lines in the original video! Can I ask what did you use to take that video of the screen? I'm still waiting on the AT&T version, but as soon as it gets in, I'll be looking for that issue as well. The Camera app is probably the most important to me.

ah right, yeah i tried that dont see much of a difference, would the camera MOD help?
It would depend on which Mod. I always suggest making a Nanroid and then try flashing several Camera mods till you find on what works to your liking.

The camera is rather annoying on this device.
Camera MODs will improve the camera; It focuses faster, removes the "lag" in the viewfinder and massively improves the AI mode. Unfortunately, the "painted" effect is still there when you zoom in but it does make a noticeable difference.
Shame, because the camera is the only thing letting this device down.
Here's the mod that I applied - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548974
I couldn't get any of the files to work but the dev recently posted this test version which worked for me - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48688463&postcount=703

Does the S5 still have Air View, Gestures and Smart Screen features?

I saw the reveal yesterday and have read countless articles about the S5. There was no mention of them in the announcement and nobody has any info about it. Anyone?

Id' heard it's been dumbed down a bit, which i was interested in, for me the SGS4 was a bit gimmicky, seemed to be too much going on at the same time.
After a while you simply don't use some of the gestures, you rely on what you know, probably why the HTC One was so popular, it's system was literally stripped of anything it didn't need, worked really well and it's been the best to date, i think Sammy could take a thing or two from that.

That's not good to hear about the battery life but I assume your device is running a pre-release software build so hopefully Samsung will fix any bugs that may be draining the battery in the final release software.
