Just bought the "Go" bluetooth speaker from Simple Audio. It's amazing IMO.
I was wondering how to get quick access to bluetooth settings for pairing. I use the G2 notification shade and the quick toggles to turn bluetooth on when I want to use the speaker. But then I am needing to go to the Settings menu, then selecting Bluetooth and then selecting the Go speaker.
Is there an easier way to select the speaker once bluetooth is turned on? I was hoping for a homepage widget for bluetooth settings, but didn't see one.
Any ideas?

Best way i found it to hold down the bluetooth toggle in the notification shade brings you right into bluetooth settings

Hey you guys…
I’ve got a question…
Is there an app whcich will toggle Bluetooth on when you enter the telephone function of the wizard?(ei. Press the green button) and that toggles Bluetooth on when there is an incoming call?
Then again turns blutooth off when you end the call and telephone app. :?:
Tomtom also toggles Bluetooth on when you launch the app, and it would be nice that you don’t have to manually toggle Bluetooth on when you get an ioncomming call in your car, or when you want to make a call in your car.
This way you can save battery life, because Bluetooth isn’t permanently on, and it turns on when you need it…
Is there such an app, or is this impossible….
Anybody? :?:
Maybe phonealarm can do it. It can definatly switch different profiles like home, car etc. and within the profile you can launch programs, turn on/off bluetooth/hifi
http://www.pocketmax.net/phoneAlarm.htm
[edit] I should add that WM5 support is still in beta at the moment [/edit]
Okay, but I don't think that you cange a profile when you enter a car, because I just put the phone on a charger, and use a Jabra headset, so no professional carkit.
It would be nice if there's an app that switches bluetooth dependent on another app, not on a profile...
But I'll look into phonealarm...
Thanks, anybody else got an idea?

One reason I didn't keep phone alarm is because it didn't quite do what I was looking for. It was closer than everything else I've found, but seemed to slow my whole experience with my phone down.
Maybe someone like vijay555 might make something that'll do that.
I have got into the habbit of useing my BT headset when getting into the car and turning it off when I get out. I plug my phone into the car to keep it topped up, so using extra power isn't a problem.
One of the biggest things I'm missing, compared to my regular mobile phone, is a clear status indicator whether the phone call I'm about to make or pick up will be routed through my headset or not. The bluetooth icon in the top taskbar is shown no matter if a headset is connected, it just denotes "bluetooth is active"; e.g. my headset is off now and the icon is still there.
If I go to the dialer screen, I can type a number and press "dial", but I do not know if the connection with the headset is active. So I'm often going like "where are you" putting the headset and phone against my ear trying to figure out where the audio is going. There must be a way to show that information on the startscreen and dialerscreen.
I am not exactly sure what you mean. But on my set, whenever I connect a headset (bluetooth or wired) an icon appears on the taskbar, even when I use the dialer. There I know that I am using headset. The icon goes off when the headset is disconnected.
Simple: I do not have that icon. If you also have the same phone; how does that icon look? Maybe I'm overlooking it.
I did ask HTC about such an icon and they said that is wasn't available. So I'm curious how your icon looks.

The icon is the same as in the manual. If you do not have the manual, download from www.htc.com. If you do not have the icon, then there's something wrong.

How can HTC advise against something published in their manual and website.

I checked the guide and found two headset icons; stereoheadset (p40) and wired headset (p41). But my simple mono bluetooth headset is not stereo and not wired... So then there is no icon? How does your icon look?
My test is simple: go to the phone screen or today screen and check all icons. Then turn on the headset and see if something changes.

As I said, my icon looks exactly like in the manual. If I hook a wired headset, the wired headset icon appears at the taskbar. Likewise for the bluetooth headset (mine is manual) - the bluetooth headset icon appears.. simple as that. I've been using this for 5 months now, and the headset icons were there since day one.

Hm. Ok, I rebound the headset to the phone, and I indeed get now an icon in the dialer screen now. Appearantly something was not 100% right there.
I still do not get an icon on the today screen, so I don't know if the headset is connected until I actually need it (which usually is too late). However, I now also found an icon on the S2U2 lock screen, so that is an acceptable replacement for the missing one on the today screen. The lock screen is shown a lot during normal handling and also during pick-up.
Thanks for persisting

I suggest you remove it from the Parrot and re-pair it.
My Streak works fine with my Parrot CK3100.
Is that with 2.1 or 1.6 android ive dell direct 1.6 model

+1 with what Flavio said. Is your phone actually connecting to the Parrot system when you start the car? Try unpairing and re-pairing them. When you have bluetooth on and you start the car up, they should auto connect to each other and as soon as you make a call or receive one, audio should come from the speakers and not the phone.
Also, have a look on Parrot's website and make sure that the Parrot system is upto date with the latest firmware. I've got the MKi9200 and my Dell Streak (Direct from Dell running Android 1.6) was having connection problems before, it kept on disconnecting and reconnecting itself every couple of minutes. But after updating the firmware, it fixed everything and now works fine.
Right got my phone to work out.. I worked out as long as its got blietooth on before I start my engine it connects fine. On annoyance is when I dial from phone it go through phone first I have to press bluetooth on caller disolay for it to go through speakers. I cant find a setting to change this any ideas

Nice work mancuk29, tho I don't know why it's defaulting to your phone and not the bluetooth, like I mentioned in my previous post, my system defaults to the bluetooth device once its connected.
The only thing I can suggest is to check that the pairing options are set up correctly by entering the phone's Settings -> Wireless controls -> Bluetooth settings -> then select and hold the Parrot device -> Options... -> then make sure that the "Phone" option is ticked. If it is already ticked then no idea mate...sorry!

What ROM are you using on your Streak?
This is what I am trying to do.
When I am driving I usually have my phone in my briefcase or center console so it is very easy to miss the alert tones of the SIII.
On my Windows Mobile 7.5 phone (Focus) I would get a voice alert on my bluetooth headset telling me that I have received a text message from ____ and if it should read it.
Does the SIII have similar feature? I will settle on getting some sort of tone alert on my BT Headset so I will know to get to my phone and retrieve my message......something!
I have tried using the driving mode where it will read out all alerts but it only works through the phones speaker even though my bluetooth headset is turned on and connected.
Ideas anyone?
Thanks
Some capable Motorola bluetooth headsets can have that feature w/ a motorola app. I have the Motorola Elite Flip and have the app set to turn on when bluetooth is turned on. I can receive and send text without looking at my phone. And of course same with phone calls.
There are also some 3rd party apps that can do this with any bluetooth i believe. I use to use Vlingo a lot.

Thanks for your reply!
I checked out the My Motospeak app and it looks like a very cool app but since I already have way too many BT headsets, I will wait and see is I can do what I want with what I already have.
Since my initial post, I spent some time playing around with my phone and came up with a potential solution using my Jawbone Icon headset and the Samsung S-Voice app/
What I found was that if I will connect my Jawbone Icon to the phone audio ( a2dp) and then turn on the driving mode, all the phone audio output including TTS outputs are send to the Jawbone headset.
The only thing is that I have to remember to turn off the driving mode when I'm not using my BT headset or else all the TTS outputs will come out through the phone's speaker. I wish there is an option to have the driving mode turn off automatically when I disconnect my BT headset or at least restrict it to sending out text messaging TTS only to headsets. I will see if I can live with that limitation.
Thanks again for taking the time to response to my question. :good:

I see though find driving mode, but have you tried a app called tasker? You can find it in the play store. It is a paid app but you can set it so when you connect Bluetooth to automatically start driving mode.
