What .apk do I need to freeze?
I've looked around but can't find a straight answer. I can't find the sdm.apk suggested in other threads. I found a SDMPlugin.apk. Is that it?
I'm currently running VS98011A with TWRP 2.6.3.3.
Thanks
Edit: I think its Software update MUC 6.4.1.2_B02-LG
Old post, but since I'd like to know this as well, to prevent any Verizon OTA updates, I'm giving it a bump. I'm on rooted 12B, no TWRP installed.
Need to know on att g2 too

Unfortunately the OTA has already been downloaded and I have to keep defer the installation. Is there a way to stop the notification and the installing of the OTA. I'm using the Verizon LG G2
Thanks!
The update notification is getting to be annoying. Anybody find a fix? Or would it be possible to revert back to stock and then update??

So if I were to update from 11A to 12B on my currently un-rooted G2, just to shut it up, does 12B make it harder to root?

I have the same problem, but I cannot find Software udpate MUC 6.4.1.2_B02-LG on my VS980 G2, nor can I find any obvious OTA updater software. I cannot long click on the update notification, and if I try to take the OTA update it errs out as mentioned by others previously (I have only rooted and done the wifi hotspot mod).
Can you tell me where to find that update file, or what exactly to freeze on a VZW G2?

If you have Titanium Backup, scroll through the apps under "Backup/Restore" until you find "Software update MUC 6.4.1.2_B02-LG". Long press and the "Special Features" menu appears. Swipe right to get to the "Backup Properties". Select "Freeze!" That should do it.

Thanks for that, I appreciate the very specific instructions. Out of frustration, I flashed the XDABBEB's VS98024A custom ROM and it is working nicely. So I guess that will solve my need to freeze the OTA update.

I've had my eye on that ROM and have been following the thread but I've been hesitant to install a ROM on my new G2. ROMs always have something that doesn't work right and right now everything is working fine on the G2 (well, except I can't get KitKat but I don't think I want it anyway). But this ROM seems to be one of the more stable out there. Post an update into the XDABBEB thread after a few weeks letting us know what you think of it.

I suspecting if they patch it, you can always go back to mr1 via the odin one-click and re-root.
You can also now disable att-updater in apps and there is another update file, not sure what it is right now, maybe fota, disable/freeze that
Did you figure out what to disable? I normally would use root app delete but im not rooted yet.

I used App quarantine you have to go into settings and uncheck hide system files but it worked. There is also an app that will perserve root even if it did update https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.otarootkeeper&hl=en
I froze att-updater but didn't see anything about fota.
You can use Voodoo OTA also to help protect it.

That's all I did too. And haven't come across fota for this phone either--but i haven't read EVERY post on forum yet--almost though
If OTA Rootkeeper in link is also called fota--missed that
There was a fota on my htc phones, never used it
There is a 110mb update available through sprint for me called ls980zv7_01_to_zv8_13. Do I need to unroot before applying this update? I don't want to brick my phone again.

That doesn't add up.
They're leaving a lot out obviously.
I can't post the link on here because it changes a couple parts of the link to smiley faces.

Which instructions did you use to revert to stock? I'm stock rooted with twrp. I'm guessing that I need to revert back to stock recovery at the least.

I just saw another OTA push to my AT&T G2 phone last night. I already got the D80010d on my phone from the last update. I'm currently rooted. Has anyone move up from this update? And does the root get retained? Not sure what is the new update for...

Well I guess I'm one of the first one getting this now. I'm not sure what software update is this for after D80010d. I don't want to break my root since I froze a lot of bloatware from my ATT that improved my battery life tremendously. CIQ is one of the ones I also disabled. I hope someone has this update version to verify.
I'm on d80010o and it says I'm up to date.

Can rootkeeper retain the root after this? is the "o" version still under 4.2.x?

I just went ahead and update it to version "o". And it retained my root access! Consider this inquiry resolved.
If I ever get an OTA update (almost unheard of on AT&T), what do I need to do before I install it to not mess up my phone? It's currently just rooted on the stock ROM.

you get a nice recovery bootloop
but if you get an update
just use the update tool on the pc and plug your phone in and even if you
have a custom recovery it'll update because the update tool does it in download mode
What does "upgrade recovery" do in LG Mobile Support Tool? I tried googling it and couldn't find anything. I rooted and installed TWRP, and the LG Mobile Support tool says I don't have an update available but I'm only on the D80010d, not D80010o

Hello, I've managed to fix my LG G2 from an OTA app update following this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
Now whenever I restart my phone I keep getting the message that the update is available and ready to install
The question is: How do I delete the downloaded OTA file update or disable this message permanently since I cannot install it being rooted with TWRP?
Thanks
I would like to figure out if this is possible too
I am on Stock ROM

Rooted with TWRP 2.6.3.2
