Samsung apps to my knowledge are closed source. So getting those to work with other launchers is impossible.

I have a S-View flip cover and run Next Launcher without any major problems. The only issue that I have is with S-View using the Samsung music player.

Incorrect. When I had the official S-View case from Samsung, i used Nova Launcher and the S-View functioned just fine.

air command
Sorry for the noob question, I'm waiting to get my note 3. The air command from the stylus is not launcher related right? If i change launcher they are still there?
Thanks!

No it's not related to Launcher. Will work with Nova as well as any other Launcher.

So I just rebooted and lost everything I had placed on my home screens, has anyone else had this happen?
Were you using a third party launcher?

Yes, but I've rebooted a few other times without an issue.

Which launcher are you using? Maybe it could be a randomly occurring bug in the Note 3.

I'm using Nova Launcher Prime. I haven't had that issue myself. Maybe it could be some sort of bug.

Yea, Nova Prime works awesome.
I used to use apex, but switched to nova and never looked back.

Can you hide apps you don't use in the app drawer with Nova? Thanx
Yes, you can
I can't seem to get this launcher to stick.
I'm not rooted btw. Tia
It's been a while but I think the trick is to remove ALL of the widgets from the touchwiz screens. I fought with the same issue when moving from my Charge to the Note 3.
Edit: I'm still not rooted either.

does that include folders?
Can't say for sure. I deleted everything and started clean - no apps, no widgets, nothing. I think the widgets are all that matter since many of them are always "active".

Has any one else run I to this problem...cuz it's driving me nuts
Nothing?
I will be setting up my wife's Note 2 this weekend with ADW. Will keep notes as to what I had to do and will pass it along. I know it was the same issue with Charge and this beast.

Try long pressing the home button, then select task manager, then select clear defaults and then clear the default launcher. When you press the home screen again it will ask which launcher, select ADW and tap always.

OT: I conversed with you over at the Charge forum. I got my Note3 last Wednesday, I'm in love and my wife's jealous. She got a S4 and is complaining about her battery running down.
On Topic: I'm using Next Launcher and didn't have any problems with it and my touchwiz setup.
Just got s5 an was wondering what the best launcher is or is the standard one fine

It's all personal preference really, depends on how you want your screens set up, how you want the device to look etc. (PS Best threads are against XDA rules, so expect this to be closed)
Oh right ok i didnt know so do i need to be rooted to change launcher

Nope, can grab Nova /Apex etc from the playstore and test them out, premium features you have to pay for, but in regards to Nova it's superb I've used it for a long time now.
The only thing I miss from my Samsung is the Watchon app. I have loaded it on my G2 but of course the remote doen not work. Even the HTC M8 that I test rode for a week before returning it have a TV app built in like Watchon. Does anyone know of a similar app that will work on the G2 that gives a channel guild and working remote? Thanks for any leads.
I've been looking for something like that also for awhile and still haven't found anything that works like watchon. I'll keep looking until something comes up.
Maybe this.
