hello
As you know that there is an application in the android device that makes the user can control the others mobiles in a specific areas such as in an office , theatre etc...with using the gps service...
so, can anybody creates a programme for me to forbid the others, cell phones to ring loudly in my office
Surely after sending that programme by bluetooth or wifi
I hope that programme will be suitable and fit for all types of the cell phones ( I mean the host ones )
Finally , I would like to say that I will be ready to pay all costs of doing that programme in addition to my thanks
best regards

Dear forum members,
Soon I am going to run the marathon. I have a portable bluetooth enabled Navman GPS antenna which works fine with the Qtek 2020. Does anyone know of a software that can obtain the current GPS position and send it in a certain format using GPRS / SMS to a site that can format this and plot it onto a map? In that way, people can see where I am on the route - live.
If this software does not exist - would it be an idea for some of you software dev. guys?

Actually, I'm working on just such a software!
It will be a application running on a PPC which will send GPS position, altitude speed and direction to a Web Service via GPRS.
I'll also working on a plugin-in for MapPoint that will get data from the Web Service and plot it on the map.
Not sure when it will be finished though.
When are you goint to run the marathon?
We currently use XDAs & GPS/GPRS to track our couriers around the UK. Their positions are then viewable on either an internal map or the internet.
However, the system is bespoke. As the previous poster, when/where is your marathon? May be able to help.

ANy one know of any virtual gps software that runs via gsm triangulation, other than navizon ? www.navizon.com/
Just think it would be cool for touch owners to have some form of software gps they can use hehe

I am using it (with GPS module) and earning money while traveling and geocaching ;-) You don't have to buy that SW to earn points, If you would like to give it a try, here is my referal ID 5D5C585C575E Thanks for points ;-)
the latest google maps (2.0? or 1.2?) can do that.. but it needs extensive wireless data connection.. and you must be in the US or some well street-documented part of the world..
it think the new GSM triangulation feature is called My Location..

...we won't tell you -> you are a teacher ;-)
Just kidding; I don't know such a software or tool
and ... no, i am not a teacher, and not a cop too
This sort of software is hard if not impossible if not illegal to make with the tools at our disposal.
I would contact the KGB, they may have something of that nature.

It wasn't us, as the director I never signed for such a thing... MI5?
So you would be the first to use it in the "forbidden place" to snoop on others? Funny request, but surely for someone who needs to know this kind of info "for security reasons" would be able to afford a good programmer to do such a program.

i have wrote "security reasons" because my english is very light, and it's more easy to say that for me.
So... no we dont have good programmer, and we dont have unlimited money for pourchase one.
i know many wifi-snifer, blutooth snifer ... so i try to find a "gsm" detector ...
i know that some cell phone can make vocal transmission without provider, si they are in the same aera.
if you want to joke about my request, you can ...
i just try to find a solution to a (small) problem we have with my work : people using phone in forbidden place.
good luck with fbi, mi5 and cia.
Now i dont think that it is possible, but i dont understand why people find this request so funny?
There are plenty of tools that measure radiation. The radiation of a phone in use should be much higher than one not in use or one using bluetooth. Not sure about wifi though...
Anyway, to have this type of measurement in the phone is maybe hard/impossible to develop given the way phones are built. But the idea of something measuring radiation is nothing new and these devices can be bought at many places (most for corporate or media usage). Now if you could just set the frequecy to monitor and a specified minimum threshold you should be there
But as previously mentioned... dont know if this is actually possible to do with a phone.

while this is very possible depending on the extent of the intend program this could be VERY illegal considering that the US goverment(idk about laws in other countries) got in trouble for monitoring phone calls.
If the program was meant to only detect GSM activity it is probable possible but at the same time there would be no accurate way to determine if the active phone was in your room or down the hall unless you knew which phone was where and what its info was. But in doing that im pretty sure you have already breakin a few laws lol.
If you are worried about phone activity im fairly positive there are phone jammers which block phone calls for a certain distance around the device. Though i do not know the laws around this.
I don't know how you'd do it with the phone...but there are DIY circuits that you can find online to make one with a 555 timer chip and a few resistors and capacitors. I did the same thing as a final project for an electronics class I took last year.
Just google "Cell Phone Call Detector circuit". It lights up an LED when it detects a call.
hello!
i don't know of a program to use with your phone, but i did a quick search on the net and found this for example: http://www.globalgadgetuk.com/detector.htm
maybe that can help you?
Here is your solution:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4355
and here is one for GPS:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8758
try to use a big speaker so you can hear if somebody uses the telephone
Well...
this is not really the thing you need.
Proof of GSM usage around you cannot be provided to 3rd party (your device). The reason is hidden in the GSM1.1 standard.
To monitor the activity of the radio devices surrounding you you should need to download statistics from the closest BTS units which is actually hard enough and the Diamond's CPU is not able to break the provider encryption in realtime (trust me. i've tried it hard enough
Back in the days we faced similar problem. From the other side, I was the student
The principal of our high school designed an emitter of 900/1800MHz signal and had it equipped with a clocking device. For that reason we could not use our cell phones during class... for two days (yeah, nothing is impossible!)
The question you should ask is. Do I want to monitor cellular activity or I need to ban the usage of mobile devices in the range of XY meters around me.
If the answer of the second question is positive jut get a pal of yours who knows something about solidering and within a few dolars you have the item you need.
I was just wondering what it is, as my orange rom had it before i unlocked and de-branded, is it usefull to me as my gps seems to be working fine without it. even when i had it it wroked better when it was disabled i think.
anyone know ?
Thanks
Would like to help.. but sorry, I do not quite understand your problem.
not so much a problem just wondering. il try and put it another way
before i debranded my orange branded jade, i had 2 options relating to gps, one was QuickGPS , thats still in the branded rom.
in the orange rom it had QuickGPS and another setting called A-GPS, just wondered what the second one was for as its not in the offical htc rom
As I have understood HTC pages :
"Quick GPS for Pocket PC from the HTC Corporation is included in the Windows Mobile 6 cusom build. Quick GPS can speed up the amount of time for determining a users GPS position by downloading the latest satellite information via an Internet Connection (such as GPRS, ActiveSync, etc). Quick GPS is intended for use in conjunction with Telenav but will provide the same experience if a customer is using another GPS Solution. "
And Wiki concerning A-GPS:
"An A-GPS system can address these problems in several ways, using an assistance server or other data from a network".
Quick GPS = A-GPS since both use the same principle i.e. downloading info about satellites via internet through GPRS, Wi-Fi if available etc.

i thought as much, those crazy orange people having two programs for the same thing lol thanks for clearing that up
I believe it's not equivalent.
For what I understand, Quick GPS uses general satellite tables, which are downloaded every week.
The a-gps is more precise : you download the satellite tables which are calculated for the BTS (radio antenna) you are connected to, so it is very precise. It's quite impressive: wherever I am, I am able to get a cold fix in 10 to 15 seconds..
Well it's what I have understood of the system....
hello friend i have 3 htc jade 100 blocke in phone off ( telephone desactivé)

i think you should start by creating a new thread in the right section
could be a problem with the radio rom or a hardware problem

never noticed this reply last time i checked , where is my head lol
that sounds about right, as a-gps never used the data connection and in my case (on o2-uk using a orange rom on a orange branded device) it would make sense that the a-gps data would of been avalible on the orange network and not on o2, and thats why i could not get a fix with it enabled
thanks for the precise answer gomifromparis

Which GPS application does it not work with ?
i was with the same problem , and i solved it with and rom update , im my case PTR , but today i had to do and ard reset after the phone came crazy , but i works ok again.
but if any 1 know any way to activate it from the registry i think i was better
i think same operators block the internal gps, so thy have the gps option for the same model or if the phone its on an promotion it will not have gps, in my case i think was it , but on the box it say optional i star to look for information and i fond the update for the rom and test it , i was on this forum.
sorry for may bad English
GPS hardware problem
Hi guys. I have the following problem. The GPS is working but is saying always low signal. I sent him to repair the earphone and since then is always saying that. I am thinking that is something covering the GPS which makes him with low sign. Anyone knows any video or any ideia where the GPS is physically. I need to open the phone and visualise if is anything wrong with the GPS hardware.
Thanks
