ICS Camera Sharpness

I'm running the latest version of ParanoidAndroid, and noticed that there is a lot of noise in a lot of the photos that I take.
I am thinking it might have to do with the sharpness of the image. Is there a way to reduce sharpness in ICS?

Anyone??

I don't think there is any good fixes for the ICS camera as we are still missing kernel 3.0.
Sent from my DHD.
Kernel 3.0 won't solve this necessarily on sense 4.0 ROMs though
Desire S • Fallout V2.0.0 • xda premium
I'm running IceColdSandwich and the camera quality is just as good as CM and even better than stock ROM. The over-sharpening algorithm in stock ROM camera used to introduce a lot of artifacts in photos and they didn't look so good. ParanoidAndroid's base is existz's aospX ROM, and the camera works fine in that too, so it shouldn't be any different for you. There's currently no option in ICS cameras to adjust sharpness. Try running the camera in tablet mode, is there a setting then?

Is it possible that using camera.apk from IceColdSandwich or CM would improve photo quality on Revolutionhd rom? I'm getting blurred photos almost everytime
have u tried uCam.apk ?
very good camera app.

That wouldn't work. Revolution HD is a Sense ROM and the Sense framework is different from AOSP. So CM, AOKP and MIUI cameras won't work. Try using another app though as suggested above. I have Camera Zoom FX which works great.
Using uCam already. Great app. Phoyos are good enough, much better than stock cam app.
I used Camera Zoom FX before. Quality was the same as original

[Q] camera modes in cm, aokp, jellybam

I was wondering if the camera modes like drama, best face,... were also available in cm based roms or other custom roms not based on samsung roms.
Excuse my English.

Nope. I can't talk about Jellybam but I have used numerous CM and AOKP builds on my Galaxy S2 and HTC HD2 over the years and the default camera apps that come with them are best described as basic. They also fall short of the stock camera in terms of quality in my experience too, or certainly on the S2 anyway.
However, you can always use 3rd party camera apps which provide more features. You will still have the quality issue though.

Hmm... I'll stay with samsung based roms then.
Since I like those camera modes a lot

[Q] Any way to get TW Camera Quality on AOSP ROM?

Just wondering if there's any way to get the TW video quality on an AOSP rom? My video quality went considerably down (mostly the mic quality)
Seems to be a consistent theme. .....TW camera is simply better than AOSP.
Something about the framework doesn't allow it to be compatible with AOSP

IMO it's the best alternative to the TW we can't have on aosp

Best camera?

I've heard there are good camera mods for aosp but haven't seen any. What's the best camera for aosp and how does it do compared to stock?

I really like the new Google camera app, nice and clean interface, and the output looks really good! I do struggle with some shutter lag though (about 1 sec from I hit capture till it captures). I've found the different mods on the dev section to be a bit buggy on aosp unfortunately, otherwise I guess I would have used one of those. Does anyone have a solution to the shutter lag I'm experiencing? Running vanir ATM, but it was the same with PA and Mahdi.

TW versus AOSP ROMs

Hi all, I have been using the galaxy series since E4G and have used both stock based ROMs and AOSP based. I am currently on Sac's ROM 3 and have been curious about running AOSP on my gs4. So anyone that that has made the change to AOSP, did you miss any features only available to TW based ROMs? Like the stock camera? Or calendar app? I use Nova Launcher so I don't really care about the TW launcher.

I actually prefer the stock camera and calendar in aosp over tw.[emoji3] I'm a huge aosp fan and always used those type of roms. There are so many 3rd party apps out now for those who don't prefer aosp stock gapps..
jflte/LS 3.1/Pokernel
The ## dialer diag features in ASOP ROMs is often missing, and perhaps was missing in every ASOP ROM evaluated to date.

I installed cm11 and the voicemail feature was missing, I prefer touchwiz due to more completeness but asop seems a bit quicker with less lag, you won't have the camera with touchwiz due to software optimization.
Check these pictures out. I took them using aosp camera that's in PA gapps. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2758046 To me its just as good as tw cam. If you use Banks's gapps gives you the Google cam with photosphere and other cool effects.. Then there are tons of apps that can tweak different things..

My guess is just daylight. I've had AOSP camera take pics as good as touchwiz but ONLY outside during the day. Indoors with florescent lights or at night never came out as good.
