Check out the stock samsung keyboard, press "sym" and then press "1/2" button to get various signs like hearts, circles and stars.

i KNOW, it is awesome... when i first saw that i was like...oooh, oooh...lol Also, it seems you can type A LOT and it becomes a "scolling marquee"... too cool... : )

Amazed at what people can miss. Not to be a peni$ here, but this feature has been there since HoneyComb on my other tablets.
This is my first Android phone, so I cannot say if phones had it prior to ICS. I don't even know if other ICS phones support that, but this being a tablet and I can attest that this feature is not new and has been there since HC on old tablets.
What would be a neat feature is:
1. Add an icon to swipe. Just like on iPhones. I learnt how to modify those swipers that I made my own: with my girlfriend's pic, my pic, my motorcycle, my car, my ***, etc, etc.
2. Gesture unlock just like in Win8. Doodle on a picture to unlock the device. This looks like fun.

Didn't really post my "find" to brag on it or to try and determine, "how long its been around"....
Just wanted to share it with those who might not know about it, it makes the Note EVEN more enjoyable when u turn it on and see ur own lil personalization smilin' back @ ya!

I've had this for ages on my Jellybeaned DHD. Best bit is it is backed up and restored with Google backup.
I have my email address and a plea to return if found. As futile as it might be.

If I have one, mine is not blinking.

It works on mine, no real need for it though.

Wonder if I need to turn it on....Blinking on front....not on back. I have it flipped on screen and nothing.

Make a call and see if it comes on. During the call it should slowly pulsate.

Any idea if installed apps show in that list? i.e. can I set a notification for Words with Friends, etc.
(Im starting to realize how spoiled I am with the third party dev options on the Gnex that Im about to replace!)

I can get there but I'm too stupid to figure out how to change the colors for each item.

I'm sorry, I swore I saw someone else taking about it earlier, perhaps I mis-understood as I also cannot figure it out.

In a way, that makes me feel better. I guess we need root and Lightflow.

Light flow works fine on mine so far. Not rooted. tried to get access to the back power button light but couldnt get it working

haven't tried lightflow because it never worked on my GS3/GS4, and i only used it on my nexus back when i bought it...mainly bc there was some bad battery drain issues apparently.
wonder if they'll update for the back led?

I think I def had battery issues on my GNex (well I think if I moved it i had battery issues), light manager have those same battery drain issues?

Hi!
Why does it all the time(every few minutes sometimes, sometimes every few hours) warn me about this thing? and what is it anyway?
It has started few days ago and now it doesnt stop.. I have installed many apps so I dont know after which one it has started.
- when I click OK it shows application manager, and not showing exact app that it has prevented.. what to do?

This is a known bug, reproducable by
Switch off
Switch on
Turn on wifi
Connect to network
Will be fixed by updates soon i think, you can do nothing but delaying it for 30 days... if you are rooted you can freeze knox releated apps...
EDIT: or use wanam exposed "disable knox notifications" under security settings...

Okay, I have put do not show for 30 days, I can do that every 30 days I dont care, but only thing I am worried it could be malware or similar.. I have installed some apks which did not arrive from play store.

Yeah thats what i did while i was on stock
If you are scared about maleware download avast! or avg antiviruns from playStore and scan your device

I use avast since my S2, Im thinking of rooting soon, just waiting for some better roms to come out.

Why do Samsung continue to bundle this app? I've never heard of anyone using it, and I know lots of people with Samsung handsets, the servers and everything must be a drain on samsung's funds, why do they bloat out our phones with this?

I agree that it's pretty useless and hardly anyone uses it. In fact, I don't know of one person who does, but it's pretty obvious that Samsung is developing its own ecosystem, perhaps as a backup or fail safe for the day if/when they part ways with Google's own ecosystem. They have counterparts for nearly every Google service, although right now, most of them suck.

Sometimes WhatsApp servers... Fail... The Last saturday, for example the service had interrupted for a couple hours.
Hangouts was the solution for this time

ChatONs biggest advantage is probably that it isn't WhatsApp. :'D

I do use it as in Qatar many people use it.
I mainly use the LivePartner feature inside it though to keep myself updated.

I suppose Vanilla phone users kinda use it.
I signed on it for the hell of it, and found 3 people I knew that use it on their S3 or S4.
I promptly trashed the app once I rooted, though.

i use whatsapp as main chat app (bought 5 years subscription recently) but there is one thing that whatsapp doesn't support and it is gifs. so whenever i want to send a reaction gif to my bff i have to tell her to open chatOn on her s4 lol, besides gif support and full image quality (it doesn't try to make the files smaller, so images always reach their destination as you sent them, unlike whatsapp) chatOn has nothing good to offer and i use it only like 2-3 times a month
tho that still means it's at least a bit useful
haven't tried hangouts, don't know how image quality/gifs work (if they work at all)

Gear fit 2 and v20 set up???

A lot of us came from the Note7 and have the gear fit 2, has anyone set it up on the v20 and if so could you post a tutorial here? Or better yet make a how to thread in the news and guides section. My problem here is I only have one hand atm because of a recent surgery and in not sure I want to open this box if its a pain in the butt. This way I can sell the watch easier if I'm not so moved to set it up! lol thanks in advanced.

You download Samsung gear app. When you open it it will have you download 2 other plugins. You will have to download SHealth if you want too. I already set up my Gear S2 classic.

No the LG app will not work with SHealth. You need to download the Samsung one in order to use those features.

Is there any place where all the different health apps are compared? We got SHealth, LG Fit, Google Fit... never mind dedicated apps like Runkeeper vs Runtastic (I don't know the difference between those either, except that I have used Runkeeper and not Runtastic).
I don't mind manually entering stuff. I don't really trust the calorie estimates on my Gear Fit 2, and I only use it to track steps, something I don't necessarily need aggregated. If I did need it aggregated, of course, I could probably be bothered to enter it manually if one app was markedly better.
I feel like all I'm seeing right now are just "22 best fitness apps" and they don't really care about apples-to-apples comparisons, even.

I don't use them so I wouldnt know. I just installed it to ensure it works lol

No problem. A lot of people were wondering. I have the Gear S2 classic, but I assume all Gear S2 would support the same thing since they are all the same OS and stuff.

We have Gear Fit 2's and got our V20's last night and in no time at all got them setup with no issues.
