I know, and that is why I ask about Froyo ROMs..
Well, if you just want a stock looking, fast ROM, then go for AOSP, but if you want more themes, and other mods then go for Utopia.
I'm staying on Utopia.. and I will make MIUI theme for it when I get my phone back..

Works fine for me, try flashing gapps. Download this, put it on the SDCard and flash it using Clockwork Recovery.
Utopia anytime, miroslav_mm is working really hard on it. It's a lot more 'complete' than AOSP

Oops! I completely forgot my signature. As I'm always between ROMs! Thanks for pointing out!!
HAHAHAA
Utopia was my favorite until the RC3 version came out. I had a lot of trouble trying to make Link2SD work (I experimented with different versions of Busybox and finally I got it to recognize the second partition) but today I had another problem with WiFi, which suddenly stopped seeing my WPA2 home network. I had to go back to my previous version, where everything works...
I'm really intrigued about Utopia. I've read that it's fast yet it doesn't eat up battery like other roms. I'm just wondering how do I upgrade to that. I currently have stock eclair and somewhat of a noob when it comes to rom upgrading. Thanks

You could flash a Fastboot ROM vis KDZ. It could be one of the many ways.
I've looked all over XDA for one that will work with stock 2.3.4 rom thats rooted. I've tried the TrackPad Wake Mod and that didnt work. If there is a post for stock 2.3.4 please reply, I don't want to flash CM7, for it is too buggy. Thanks in advance!

I'd recommend checking out my latest G-Lite update. It uses the latest 2.3.4 G2 base, and it absolutely flies. I got TP wake working in my ROM, but you can flash this:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/102177/glite_trackpad_wake_mod-signed.zip
and it will enable the feature on any ROM based on the TMO 2.3.4 base.

Ok, so I can just flash via Clockwork? I'll try it. Hopefully it works!
UPDATE
It worked! Thank you soo soo soo much! I didn't want to flash CM7 just for that feature (not saying CM7 is great, cuz it is). Thank you so much!

Looks like Paranoid is CM9 based so nearly no bricking risk there
Kingdriod is based on an official Kernel, so big risk of bricking .
I could be quite wrong here though.. do your own research.

Reading the first few post in the paranoidandroid thread...
The install looks very intimidating for new flashers.
And to complicate things, there is a list of prerequisites and DONT'S. IF.......
So Im freaked out by it all, but do want to install it..
My experience so far is to.. D/L the German XXLPY and install via PC Odin.
Then root, then Speedmod Kernel..
NOW.. the PA ICS hybrid instructions warns against flashing with ICS already installed with certain kernels.....
I got lost and confused...
{Q} Can I just flash PA ICS Hybrid over what I have got already??
or {Q} do I have to go back to GB and a GB kernel first??
thanks for helping out a new flasher.
And dont forget to lecture me to read..read..read.. research....
I know that & but I will need reminders (without links as wel)l...
thanks again,,,

Kingdroid it's pretty bad, it has very very dirty stuff and useless tweaks, its buggy and drive you crazy after 1 day of use.
The idea of that rom is good but "more" not means better so that guys need to do a clean rom instead a rom full of useless crap.

It's not confusing as long as you get the concept right. Just remember one thing.
All stock Samsung ROM are dangerous and you do not want to flash anything over them.
All AOSP ROM are safe and you can flash over them.
So what happens if you are on Samsung official like LPx, LBx, etc ? First, flash a gingerbread ROM with no wipe and then proceed with the usual flash procedure. This applies for ANY ROM that you wanted to flash not only Paranoid ROM.

Hello,
How are you?
I am a bit tired of Touchwiz and some lag on the phone, so I would like to switch ROMS.
So, I was wondering what is the most pure vanilla ICS 4.0.4 ROM for the Note, wich is stable and has the fewest know issues?
I am sorry for this thread, but there are so many roms developed that it is really hard to choose.
CHeers and thanks!

For an ICS ROM you need to use an ICS kernel. But Paranoid comes packaged with the kernel. By the sound of it you are on GB at the moment. If it's already rooted, do a full wipe then flash Paranoid and the GApps package from the same thread.
If you are already on ICS, do not do full wipe until you have read up on how to do it.

Any downsides to this ROM?
I am currently on stock Note, with ICS 4.0.3 and stock kernel. Not rooted.
Would a kernel like Speedmod work better with the nightly rom? Or is a stock GB kernel better?
Whichever rom I choose, I need to use PC Odin to revert to GB before flashing anything, right?
Cheers and thanks!
Why would anyone use cm9 If Paranoid Android is the same with much more features..
You cant use any tw kernels like speedmod. Cm9 need cm9 kernels

You can install it from ics if you want.

copy Kernel and PA Rom and Gapps Files to your internal SDCard

boot back in Recovery (to find under "advanced")
Factory Reset
Wipe Dalvik Cache (under "advanced")
Flash PA Rom

You can use modded kernels with PA, but only cm based ones like AniDroid/bbq etc.. and not the touchwiz ones like speedmod/franco.
To install, follow what the post above says, or as you mentioned use Odin to go back to gb, root/install cwm, full wipe then install Paranoid Android.

As stated above cm9 only uses cm9 based kernel, you don't have to worry about that, it will install itself when you flash the ROM.

Because not everyone like tablet mod, I've tried PA but returned to cm9 because the phone UI is more suitable for the note .
And then there is the faster update cycle of cm9.

Just my two cents: I found PA to be super buggy in comparison to CM9, the boot splash didn't fit the screen and the UI lagged a lot more, some of the apps were great in tablet mode, but CM9 feels overall far more suited to the Note.

If you want a true Vanilla experience install the 4.04 Stock Rom, you will find the there are now a lot of people using it, it is stable, fast and the battery life has improved. There is a large difference between 4.03 and 4.04 official ROMS.
I have been using it since it came out and I find that it beats everything else I have tried. On the down side the 4.04 kernel still contains the EMMC Bug so I cannot do a full wipe without reverting back to GB.

Hey guys, just wondering if there is any good stable Android 4 NAND ROMs out there for the HD2? I'm looking at starting fresh, formatting everything etc.
Thansk much.
Any of them really, just make sure it's been updated fairly recently (as long as it's newer than around October it should be OK).
Looking for ICS , so there is no better rom then NexusHD2 ICS 4.0.4 by tytung. It is the best ICS rom u can get.

As I have said before.. coming to XDA and asking which is a good Rom is like entering a bar full of drunks and asking whats a good drink here !!
