ICS source and custom wifi driver (encrypted networks do not work)

Hi to all.
I'm working with Amlogic ICS M3 source tree... I have to implement latest Realtek 8192cu wifi driver to source tree.
I'm having problems connecting to any kind of encrypted wifi network. Open networks works just fine.
What I did:
- remove all amlogic wifi stuff
- overtook wpa_supplicant_8 from AOSP ics-mr1
- integrated realtek patches to wpa_supp, init.rc, BoardConfig... as described in realtek's sdk
- integrated driver in kernel, wifi module is built as module, cfg80211 is built-in
- I'm not using wext but nl80211
- kernel is Amlogic 2.6.34 release
Now crossed my mind that wifi.c/wifi.h from libhardware_legacy I obtained from CM ics branch.... maybe that could be a problem?
Any hint?
Regards

[Q] What to use instead of Timur's Kernel - USB ROM

Since Timur has announced that he does not intend to provide any additional releases, what ROMs should I be looking at which will provide all the functionality of Timur's Kernel - USB ROM?
No one got any suggestions for other ROMs to try?
Bump. I'm interested too
Try to flash kernel with Usb host and dac sipport, for example - [KERNEL] [GPL] [GROUPER/TILAPIA] [4.2.2/4.3] Oxydo - V11 [3.2.49] [Linaro]

Thanks but I think what was left out from the post is new Nexus 2013 and Android 4.3
Any available solutions?

[Q] [Solved] Adding ASIX AX88179 chipset (1Gbit ethernet) support to Omega ROM

I just bought external ethernet network card Edimax EU-4306. It is USB 3.0, 1GBit - so it's a very nice piece of hardware, and excellent accessory for my SM-N9005. This card is based on ASIX AX88179 chipset, and there are Android drivers for this chipset from the manufacturer, but the drivers are not included into firmware of my phone, so the device doesn't work.
My Galaxy Note 3 is rooted, runs Omega ROM v21, so I decided to compile the drivers myself. I downloaded Omega Kernel sources, and found, that there is no kernel modules support in the kernel by default. I recompiled the kernel with kernel modules support enabled, next compiled the drivers (no any problems during compilation), repacked original Omega's boot.img adding modified kernel, but due to unknown reason my phone doesn't boot.
I wanted to contact Omega ROM developers asking them adding the drivers into next release of Omega ROM, but due to absence of 10 posts on the forum I can't do that.
Can anyone please contact Omega developers for me or direct me to a good guide for installing cusom zImage kernels?
The answer was easy: Android Image Kitchen v1.6 for Linux from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073775
Using this tool I rebuilt original boot.img and flushed my new kernel with modules support. Next, I built the device drivers. My device is now working ok!

[Kernel][N4][N7] different franco kernel behaviour

hello there,
i have a little issue with a "same but different" behaviour the franco kernel does. both devices use the latest paranoid and franco version, see below.
i use usb y-cable on the nexus 7 to charge it and have a connection via usb-lan, so wlan is disabled. this works without any issues on the nexus7, but it doesn't on the nexus 4.
the n4 just charges, but it won't recognize the usb-lan adapter (dmesg shows me so), so no connection via lan.
also both devices run afwall+. the n7 shows the the firewall logs, the n4 does not. logcat is working on both, also the CatLog app is running fine on both devices, sbut no afwall log on the n4.
my guess: because the n4 (#217) kernel doesn't log denied packages, at least i wont see anything when running dmesg. (not to mention: of course dmesg shows me denied packages on the n7)
any idea why that happening and/or if there's a way to fix it?
Nexus 7 (2013)

sadly can't ask in the thread is should be done (10 posts >_>)
