I just noticed this the other day. That the stock OS of the note 3 can NOT stream more then sound at a time. Is this the case with all 4.3 or just Samsung specific?
Its quite annoying how the music completely stops every time a notification sound comes up
I hope they change or something, or am I doing something wrong? Besides a different rom.

this has happened with my stock rom and new rom. i am currently running triforce 4.0 but has happened since i owned the phone. basically i listen to pandora a lot while i am working. i pause the song in pandora when i turn off the van. when i hit play the volume is always really low almost to the point where you cannot hear the audio. the sound returns to normal once it gets to the next song or when i receive a text message. I've tried to re download pandora but has not fixed the issue. does anyone else have this problem or a solution to this issue?

no one has this issue or know a fix?
So I have this Note 3 which I like a lot. Big screen to watch series in the train, although after a while I got pretty fed up with the chord of the earphones, expecially when I had to get up, swiched to music and had to stuff my phone in some pocket.
So I looked around for some nice Bluetooth headphones and came across a nice deal on the Sennheiser MM 550-X. Just stating the model for any chance that someone is aware of some faults in this product.
Now, overall the sound quality is fine, which you would expect because of the apt-X thing which both devices support. But what really annoys me, is the following.
While listening to the native musicplayer, the music sort of studders. Not all the time, but like one or a few times per minute and then not at all for a few minutes. Some faults sound like pops, but some are real pauses for like half a second. Especially with those longer pauses I can distinctly hear that the music really 'pauses' and that it is not just the connection which fails while the music on my Note plays on.
So I suppose it has something to do with the apt-X coding. I already tried rebooting, killing background processes, switching off wifi and mobile data. I also tried different music players. Nothing seems to help.
The only time when I have almost no problems is when I'm at home, with te phone lying still on the desk.
I have a stock rom.
Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this?

That's difficult, because I don't have a phone which supports apt-X available.

Most phones these days support it.
Maybe a friend's?
Maybe the problem is something else entirely. You need to troubleshoot it.
I am just guessing, though. Never used bluetooth headsets myself.
Experiencing audio lag out of the box. The best way I can describe the effect is when you have HDMI connected from a PC to some audio receivers. If there is no sounds coming from the PC and the first event sound or audio is played there is sometimes a tiny loss of the beginning of the sound. All most as though the receiver knows it should be playing something and needs time to sync the bit rate kHz for playback and misses the first few milliseconds.
All ringtone, notifications, heck even YouTube is doing this out of the box. Missing the first few milliseconds of everything played. I noticed it first off then later rooted etc.. Thinking I could resolve on my own or it would resolve after debloat. I didn't notice the issue when briefly running CM12.
The plan if I can't resolve here with suggestions is to drasticly lowest level possible reload the phone complety then go from there. Who knows what happened to this thing when originally flashed and to the shelf.
Tried the normal stuff like reset phone off the get, cleared cache's. It happens with stock notifications and ringtones. I don't want to work around the issue by adding silence to the begining of all the ogg files. Most ringtones and notifications have an initial attack to the sound and I won't hear some if they are too short.
Any suggestions before I take a chance on bricking on my own? Also chime in if I'm not the only one having the issue.
I have an XT1526 and do not experience this problem. I would recommend resetting your device to factory default. If that doesn't work contact Motorola/your cell phone service provider.
Anyone else having issues with music stopping the random times? Happens on all music apps. It's been on all marshmallow roms even stock.
Before anyone says the smart settings mute it's not that. Lol
Do you mean skipping or completely stopping? I've noticed that music using any app will have random quick pauses but I've never had it completely stop. Seems like samsung screwed up this update. Camera quality is worse, music skips, and I'm sure there's more that is messed up.
I certainly hope this isn't the last update we'll get. Verizon/Samsung need to at least fix what is broken before dropping support.
Happens everyday (even with my S6). It'll stop when audio is playing for a bit, or after I hit the volume button. It doesn't do it constantly through out the day, but it'll happen atleast once everyday i'm listening to audio. Anyone else?
Anyone?
It is happening with my S8 either when playing games or youtube and even music.
This problem started after the software update. So i think it is a software issue..
Whenever the sound cut off, i just lock the screen and unlock it back....
Hope Samsung will release a software update as soo as possible
Games is fine for me, it's just players like YouTube, music apps, and players inside websites. Just gotta press play again. Pretty annoying, but happens atleast once a day, not constantly through out the day.
It happens to me in Youtube and NBA app when video is being played.
Sometimes the screen just shuts off completely too.
I agree it's not consistent.
To add, sound not working sometimes when i am using skype and even sometimes for my alarms.
What do you think, is it a software problem or hardware?
Seems to happen more through out the day now. It's pretty annoying.
This just started happening to me yesterday. I've tried restarting my phone, pausing the video and playing it again, turning the volume all the way down then back up. All of those things restore the sound but it'll cut out a few seconds later. Also audio plays just fine in my headphones.
I dont have my s8 yet, but this sounds like a problem I used to have on a previous galaxy s phone (i think it may have been the s4). It turned out I had a setting enabled where the player pauses or stops when I'm not looking at the screen. It's called smart pause. Could be something similar although i'm not sure.
Uggg
Same problem here. Got the s8 less than a week ago and I use spotify offline (downloaded) and Google Music for downloaded files and it always pauses after about 15 minutes, sometimes sooner. I don't use battery saver, and none of the 'smart' features are enabled. It happens with headphones, without headphones, on Bluetooth. Just pauses the song and I have to hit play again, super annoying and I can't find any fix. I'm really regretting this purchase.
I also have S8 and currently experiencing this kind of issue. Every after 1 minute of playing either youtube or videos on my phone it paused and I didn't even clicked it.
I have a problem like this on my s7edge. Then I thought it can be related third party apps. And yes when I uninstall Sputnik news app, it solves the problem.
