Over Clarity - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was using a note 2 before
When I'm talking with someone the other's side voice is like over clarified on my note 3
I didnt have any problem like that with my note 2
Is it normal with note 3's earpiece or is there any problem

There is an option called "Personalize Call Sound" in the dialer settings.
It is defaultly set to "Clear Sound".
This might be causing the weird clarity you are referring to. It can be changed or turned off.

I know that m8 because I have also a note 2
but its like broken or something

Sorry, never had a Note before this one.
The Samsung Infuse I had before this never had that option.
I stumbled across it and thought it might be related to your issue.
Sorry that it isn't any help.

I can set other shortcuts in the lock screen but the camera shortcut is the only one that doesn't want to show up, this always happens when I'm on a cm10 based ROM but it always works fine in aosp based roms

Same here.. :/
3rd party camera can be set though. I'm on CM10 and i set "camera zoom fx app" while using the system default icon to have a consistent look.

Security Flaw of Samsung phones

There is a cool trick how to see desktop of the phone if it is protected with the password. It does work on S3 I've tried it on my phone.

Actually just tested and it works, managed to make a call by carrying out the process a few quick times.
Not sure what, other than making calls this could do though.

Depending on the device, it allows FULL access to the phone.
I can not open the previous reply link but here is the video where some guy with a bit of effort completely disables the lockscreen code http://shkspr.mobi/blog/2013/03/new-bypass-samsung-lockscreen-total-control/
Latest jkay fixes this bug.

I've had the nexus 4 for a while now, and it hasn't really bothered me but I was wondering if a) anyone has this 'problem' or b) if anyone knows how to fix it..
It occurred on stock rom in every update I've used, and is persisting now as i use paranoidandroid..
Thanks!

Are you taking about the "box" that the answer ring is inside? If so, that's normal.

The grey part above is a place holder for where a contact image would appear if you had one set

Ahh ok, I thought it was a glitch as it crops images in a way that doesn't seem that right.. I'm not too keen on the design but it's good to know its not a problem! Cheers!

Roam issues

Hello! Has anyone ran into roaming issues on their G2? I have everything setup for roaming but I still often times get the grey triangle in the status bar saying I lost data because I left my home network.
I do remember back in my HTC days that even though you told the phone its Ok to roam, it still wouldn't enable it unless you added the data widget and enabled it through there.
Any help would be great, I've attached my settings for you guys to see.

[Q] Camera voice commands?

The Galaxy S4 had camera voice commands to take a picture.
I cannot find this feature in the S5. Does it exist? If so, how is it enabled?
It's in the camera app. Hit the settings button and it should be all the way down on the right. It says voice control.

Yeh try this man i hope it works for you..
Hmm...I've looked all thru the camera settings on mine and I don't have that voice command feature. Is it possible I need to enable a something in the system settings?
The settings scroll.... That stumped me for a while as well since it's not in the first page of settings.

When I had brought up the settings in the camera I couldn't see the voice command option. I didn't know the settings scroll...just scroll down and you will see it.
