You'll probably have more luck posting directly in the thread.

To use cf autoroot . So whats the best way to root my device.
If you still have android 4.3 jelly bean then use root De la Vega. That version doesn't unlock the counter in Knox

Cf auto root is fine provided you accept that it will trigger Knox to 0x1.

I rooted my galaxy s4 after flashing 4.4.2 and I dont remember how I disabled knox over it and got my all root apps running. I used cf autoroot and odin.

Rooting will allow root apps to work. If you want to remove knox then flash a custom rom.

Read the CF auto root thread, it's in the original dev section.

As a relative newbie I find the above undecipherable. What is cf root? I just got a note 3 and none of the "one click" programs succeed. I got developer options visible and usb debugging turned on. What do I do next and where can I get cf root whatever it is. I still have twrp leftover from my s3. Any use?
Thanks for the help!

CF-Autoroot :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
Read the thread carefully before you continue, find the suitable file for your Android version. You never provide the details of your device.
Btw, your somehow "leftover" from your S3, are not usable anymore.
Different device need different methods of rooting, recovery, and ROMS. No other device tools can be used for cross device unless with a proper code porting.
Cheers.

SM-N900V VZW version of Note 3
VRUBMJE
Android 4.3 (yuck)
Thanks in advance and yes I rooted my S3 and got frustrated when they pushed 4.3 out. I had to re-root and I never could find a launcher I liked for it. I bricked my S 3 a few times finding my way around. From advice found here I succeeded in recovering several times. I have TRW on the phone but I'm assuming it won't be that useful.

If you had looked at existing threads, you would have found that CF Autoroot is recommended for Exynos handsets. So choose the CF Autoroot file for the 900H.
.
I tried towelroot and it didn't work. I want to root so I can write to external SD. The gallery app is SO slow on the device and quickpic is much much faster. But I unfortunately can't delete or move pictures cause of the restriction. There's an app on the store that will fix it, but I need root.
I have a sprint note 3, and I'm on 4.4.4

There are only some rooting methods available for Note 3: URDLV, CF-Auto root and Towelroot.
Did you try Towelroot?
I just got my note 4 today and I was looking around on these forms for a way to root my phone but I can't seem to find it anywhere. If there is a way to root it can you please show me the thread or if not I guess I'll have to wait. I'm using 5.0.1 right now.
After looking around some more chainfires cf root works on the note 4 n910u but only version 4.4.4. So if I use Odin to flash the stock 4.4.4 version and then root that would that work?

that's correct, the best option and only one you have, just make sure after flashing and check the firmware version, cheers:fingers-crossed:

There is no way to root the Verizon Note 4 on 4.4.4 or 5.0.1. CF Auto Root will not work. You're going to have to wait until a method is found.
