Thermal throttling ?
Having played the other 2 games i can say that those games will push your Hardware to the max. Try to reduce some settings.

I'm on StockMOD, it has some tweaks about throttling and stuff. But really dont know why is it laggy, on note 2 (watched on youtube) works great. My frames fall down while playing to about 10 fps.

I've noticed this too. It seems to get most laggy when looking at cars. Lowering the Car Reflection graphics setting helps a bit with performance, but I still feel like the G2 can handle this game maxed out. Hopefully someone will find a solution.
Sent from my Verizon LG G2

There is no solution for now.. Game is not optimized for adreno 330. Game is laggy on g2, z1, note 3... So we have to wait for game update

I watched gameplay on note 3, its not laggy

i think it might be software dependent. I broke down and bought it this morning, lagged for me too. I was on lg's stock rooted at first, maybe 10-15 fps, flashed over to OSE 2.0 (4.4) and it seems to run a little better, still no GTA 3 smoothness but seems better than stock.

Bought Asphalt 8 - Heavy Lag on GS4-i9500

Just bought Asphalt 8, honestly expected it to run flawlessly on my Black GS4-i9500 but that was not the case. Installation was fine, but game is really laggy and the graphic is kind of messed up and unstable. It's like the graphic card is not powerful enough to run it at full speed. I'm playing on default settings and I made sure there is no other application running besides Airborne. My phone is a genuine one and have not rooted it. It's the same for Minion Rush and Asphalt 7.
What might be causing this problem according to you guys and is there any way to fix this?
Many thanks.

Had no lags like this on stock. Everything ran flawlessly.
but smearing issue bothered me so I rooted it and installed perseus kernel. Everything is fast as hell. And using wanam rom.
try a factory reset. Then update to latest ota. And test again.
There is no such thing called "lag" on my I9500, on GE Port or stock Touchwiz.
But yes, my phone is rooted and got swapped external to internal.
Probably there's something wrong in your beloved storage.

It is the way it is.
Forget these guys who says Asphalt 8 run flawlessly on I9500/I9505, it doesn't. Flawlessly is 60fps all the time. S4 can't deliver that.
It doesn't matter which ROM you are using, they do little to no help on GPU performance, unless when you are OCing the GPU.
Just make sure you don't have background apps running.
For Asphalt 8 on I9500 expect a frame rate on High Quality averaging on 30fps, with peaks on 40fps and dips on 15fps.
I9505 is a few frames worse.
If you really want have a gain on FPS, you should have root, be on Android 4.2 and change the resolution to let's say 720x1280.
got ard 30fps, can't say perfect but good enough to play. Anyway racing game don't require very high fps.
If you experience HEAVY LAG then something must be wrong.

Sorry I'm a little bit out of the main subject.
Is there any way to show FPS when gaming on android devices ? I looked in playstore and there's none.
To get back to the subject, you should see what's wrong with your phone .. Asphalt runs well on S4 as it's running on IPAD 4 (but the bigger screen makes it better experience really) .. S2 also runs it well with medium graphics.
I thought the 3d titles were a bit laggy or jerky but played on iPhone 5 and we're the same smaller screen was rubbish.

FPS Meter (root required)
It is paid though... It used to be cheaper, I paid U$ 1.00 (maybe I bought it on specials days, don't know...) but now it is around U$ 4.00.
It shows fps on screen. It affects the performance a little bit when active, something around 5%-10%.

It effects much more than 5%-10%. It is taking down the FPS by about 10-15FPS!
I found no Lag yet on my phone. I've played and still playing Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 4, shadowgun:deadzone etc. and all run smooth.

I had the same problem with my S4, I noticed that it only happened when playing using the Bumper Cam view.
Since switching to the hood view its never frozen or stopped once.

i have no problem in my i9500 and i9505 i am using wanam rom in both
Somethings weird on your phone... To everyone, the Adreno 320 and PowerVR SGX544 are pretty much the same in performance. On that note, I'm playing Asphalt 8 at around 40-50 FPS. No frame drops at all. Using a Canadian SGS4 so its a S600. Running Broodplanks Pure AOSP. Its most likely the best ROM for gaming. Gets 29000 in Antutu without any over clock.
I9500
here asphalt 8 is just fine..
around 40-55 fps. No overclock.

Laggy gaming

Hello!
I got my g pad a few days ago and I got it rooted running xposed with greenidy and G2 modules with nova launcher. Antutu scored about 23600 and performence is pretty great excpet for one thing : gaming.
Most if not all Games are laggy, some start laggy and some become Luggy after a few seconds.
What should I do?

GTA San Andreas is laggy on my GPad then I tried to flash custom rom then the game became smooth on max settings
Mine also. i have several that freeze up but work perfect on a custom rom. Rayman jungle run and reckless racing 2 amongst others. kinda sucks as i like the lg rom.
I play asphalt 7 and 8 also real racing 3 and gt racing 2 with no problem at all.
That's true. But If a quad-core snapdragon 600 clocked 1.7ghz and 2gb of RAM can't handle a game smoothly then I think that's the optimization of the app's fault, not the hardware. My San Andreas also lags, at half resolution, medium details and 70% draw distance. That sucks : /. Order and Chaos Online is so laggy that it's taking away any joy from playing, while a LG L9 with 2x1Ghz handles it perfectly...... I think this is unacceptable that a flagship device has such issues
Wysłane z mojego LG-P760 przy użyciu Tapatalk 4
Is it laggy from the start or after a minute of playing? Seems that this tablet gets hot quickly and keeps throttling CPU/GPU
Real boxing lags for me sometimes. Other games like Riptide GP2, Injustice, and Modern Combat 4 all play perfectly though.
Those games are laggy:
BADLAND, Pivvot, Subway Surfers (A little bit), Rayman Jungle Run (Half of the time buttery smooth, other half laggy)
But after further testing I found out:
I also have games that don't lag: Modern Combat 4 (which is very demanding!), Zynga Poker (but a galaxy s wouldn't lag on that one), Lumber Jacked, Reaper.
I guess it's a compability issue, hope I could get better performence on AOSP ROMs (although I heard they have a gaming problem, maybe it will be sorted out soon)
Just installed latest cmb rom, all games are buttery smooth.
I laugh at lag's face now.
Only problem : pivvot doesn't respond to touch. Oh well, probably a 4.4.2 compatibility issue
it plays even intensive games like Asphalt 8: Airborne well, and nothing ever felt overly laggy. But stock KitKat clearly comes with a huge speed boost, and switching from one model to the other for days at a time, I always noticed the difference.

Is the S600 another model type of this tab ? Anyhow after a week of using the tablet and reading and using and Romming and ...you get it.I have noticed lags here and there w/ certain games , YouTube etc but Browsing is good. Gaming depends on what game you play Nova 3 lags a little not as smooth as N7 , Nitro Nation is fine lags here and there no biggie, injustice lags some,Dead Trigger 2 is OK doesn't really lag very much but I haven't installed the graphics mod either .Deer hunter stutters a bit,Respawnables, shadowgun super smooth online or off My experience so far.
Well I'm on Malladus 1.2.5, and I have absolutely no lag at all. RR3 runs perfectly smooth during the races (but the graphics seem to be in low settings everywhere, so that shouldn't come as a surprise), Angry Birds Go is equally good, and Asphalt 8 is perfect in high settings. I did have some lags on all of them while I was on stock though.
I also tried CM11, and apart from some games that just wouldn't launch, all of the above ran perfectly.

Could you two me about Malladus 1.2.5? Do all stock features work? Can you do apps to sd sym linking? Will this prevent lg app updates... How is battery life improved
Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
Yes, all stock features work if you flash the LG apps with the Rom. As far as I can tell, it's a custom stock rom, with a bit of optimizations and tweaks.
I don't know about SD sym linking. I'm assuming you're talking about Link2SD ability to create a link with your external SD card, and I can't see why it wouldn't work.
Battery life seems to be a bit better, but it could be a placebo effect.

[Q] LG G2 game lags

Hello,
i downloaded a few games and i`m surprised that on Snap800 are some lags...
Assassins Creed Pirates
GTA San Andreas
at last this 2 game has lagged for me and idk why? can anyone help?
If games are not optimised for the chip, lag will occur. If games aren't properly coded or graphically intensive the phone will use a lot of processing power and heat up quickly. Then it will start throttling the CPU to avoid overheating.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Ok, thanks for answer... but can be removed some lags via changing rom? cuz im now at stock wit no root and maybe such lags?its really noticable
Try disabling thermal throttling. I would consider this a design flaw

i dont want warm phone for this games, i already have disabled high temp off, if ut suggestion wont warm phone ill do it
actually on GTA not so many lags as on assassin xD bu gta sucks as his gameplay so not so interesting game, im worry about assassin lag its sometime goes really noticable but still playble but i saw that that game was running smooth on nexus 7 abt interesting wrf with ubisoft that cannot make game optimized x.x or aaah im confused what ti do that not warm phone and makes games smooth
hello guys,
I have recently bought G2 D802 and i have found the same type of lagging in my device to, previously i was using S3 and S4 and gaming was smooth in both of my previous devices. I play games which do not have high graphics like Temple run 2, Granny Smith and Banana Kong.
It is such a costly device and i am ruing the day i bought this device because i also dont like the camera result of my G2, hoping that update will resolve this problem....
try setting down_differential to 70 in ondemand settings. this stops the CPU frequency jumping up and down so much
you can use apps like trickster to do this easily, but you need to be rooted
remember to turn it back to 10 after playing your games for better battery efficiency
edit.. oops, sorry I brought up an old thread, I forgot I was looking at search results

Too many kernel choices!

There are so many kernels for the nexus 4 which is great, but it makes choosing one so hard!
What kernel has a good balance between battery and performance for 4.4.2??
And what app do you recommend for controlling the various kernel settings?
I'm running a purity build from about 6 weeks ago.
Thanks!

I use hell dokter and use tricksterMod for control, sot +4h and good performance, no hickups on angry birds go

I'm using Matr1x at the moment, 4:20 screen-on-time which is much better than the 3h I was getting on stock.
Words of advice my friend. Not all phones were made the same. Therefore, others configuration might not work well with your phone. Just try them all and run some tests yourself. That's the right way to do it. This is a nexus. Be adventurous mate.
p/s: Start off with some popular ones like franco/sema/ak/hells-core/matrix.
In my case mtr1x kernel gives me the performance but with good battery life, hellscore or hellsdoctor are a bit better in bettery life but in performance not so good as matr1x kernel. You must decide whats more important for you.
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 4 mit Tapatalk
May i ask where do you guys see that "performance is not as good" on some kernels? Because the 1.5Ghz Quad Core should handle pretty much anything, even with a battery friendly kernel. I'm using Hells + MOD i have a great battery life and no problems with performance at all. Granted, i dont play 3d heavy games, but still... Or are we talking about lower scores on benchmarks that mean nothing to day to day using performance?
In games it sometimes worked not very well maybe an issue with the New minimum Frequency of 81mhz. I dont care about Benchmarks.?

Xperia Play as an Emulation Device, Any tips on how to get the Best Results ?

Hey Guys,
I just Bought an Xperia Play for 59,99€ Recently and i wanted to Use it for my Emulation Needs. I know that there are Many Better Options for Portable Systems that are Capable of Emulation but my PSP is for Example way too Huge to fit in my Pocket (i own the PSP-1004 Phat Model) and those Dingoo Devices are getting Quite Expensive. So i tried A Few Custom Roms and got many Results.
CM13 - Works, but i cant use All the Buttons on the Gamepad in SNES9XPlus and the Rom itself is Too demanding for this Device.
SuperJellyBean V8 - Nothing but Black Screens in Retroarch with SNES9x Core and in the SNES9xPlus Application.
A lot of the Stock Based Gaming Roms - Works, but Android 2.3 does not Support all of my Regular Games from Google Play.
Does someone of you Guys Know a Good Rom for the Play which is Capable of Emulation and maybe a Few Games that i enjoy Playing like for Example Galaga Wars ? I would Really be Happy if i can get this working
Disclaimer : I Only Use Backups from my Own Legit Cartrigde Titles from Both my SNES and GBA Library and Some Homebrew for Emulating.

I use Xperia Nxt2 ROM with Lupus Kernel overclocked to 1,2 ghz. Run smooth as f...
as games i recommend dead trigger, shadow gun, modern combat 4, max payne and need for speed most wanted
i've been succesfully using super jellybean v8 for about a year with retroach in the jb era. retroarch is the best emulator in my opinion, too bad the latest build totally broke the xplay gamepad, and it's a pita to set up, i'm still trying, i succeded in editing the autoconfig on 1 rom, the problem is that the different roms handles the gamepad differently ( on cm 13 for example the start and select buttons are on a separate device...i know it makes no sense, right?) i've been using nexplay also which is 4.0.4 and it's fine, it has the same gamepad problem with retroarch. try the 1.2 version or older, that should work even if they don't have support for the most recent cores
Use lupus v12 kernel and Gin2kitkat rom
I haven't tried anything else in like 5 years (not much xplay developpement happened since then) and nothing beated it at that time
MD.emu snes9x gba.emu for the emulators.
Galaga wars and recent games/app won't work though since it's gingerbread, but AFAIK Xperia play is really unstable with anything else than gingerbread.
Try out Cola or xElite Gamer roms. Also make sure you're able to overclock your cpu. The normal 1ghz works for most games but for some Super Nintendo and Playstation games, you'll want to go higher than that. Mine runs stable at 1.6ghz. Also if I may recommend using ePSXe over FPSE for ps1 and Snes9x eX over SuperGNES. I've just noticed better framerate, sound sync, and stability overall.
I have just done the same thing as you and bought myself a 60€ second hand, installed auroraplay, installed doomkernel, overclocked to 1,7GHz and enjoying emulation madness...

can you link here what version of retroarch? the latest releases are beautiful with the xmb interface, i managed to map the control but it recognises the xplay gamepad as 2 separate devices and it's a reeeeal mess. i remember using maybe 1.2 version optmized for xplay, maybe found on paulscode.com if i remember correctly...i love retroarch and it's the only emulator i would use, but the build has gone so far, and the xplay is so far behind..i still have all of my pokemon saves, but the controls are so broken on the latest build that it' not worth the hassle..latest builds also not compatible with GB so it's kind of a mess..
ok so i tried some retroarch version on the auroraplay rom, so far the 9.9.6 has basically all the cores you need and the pad mapped right away without need of configuration( you can find it in aptoide). from that version on the gamepad maping is broken and needs some serious configuration, it's a pity cause the 1.5 version has just been released and it look beautiful with xmb interface artbox support and al the fancy stuff...imma head over to the retroarch support forum and ask why from 1.2 on the xplay gets broken controls
