Hey people
i recently purchased a note 3 off ebay which works fine for me in the UK, however the only problem i have is the phone is flashed with chinese firmware. i basically want to reflash the firmware to the uk BTU firmware. i have downloaded
SM-N9005 Galaxy Note 3
PDA: N9005XXUBMJ3
CSC: N9005OXABMJ3
MODEM: N9005XXUBMJ2
from sammobile.
but for some reason when going to flash in Odin, it ends up with a fail error saying the image4 invalid.
Could someone please point me in the direction to fix this?
Thanks

I started a simlar thread a few days back asking similar question. I am trying to flash ROM from different region and without success. so far no one has replied a way to do it. I have Vodafone ROM on my N9005 and I have managed to flash it with BTU ROM but not TGY ROM. Apparently any european ROM I can probably flash but not asia. So you is the other way round.

Hi there fellow XDA developers.
My uncle bought a Samsung galaxy note 3 from Saudi Arabia (its been like 8 months) and his phone still have't received any KitKat update. It's current android version is 4.3 lollipop.
___INFO___
Phone model: SM-N9005
Original CSC code: BTU
Firmware's CSC code: BTU
CSC country: UK & IRE
CSC country ISO: GB
Product: SM-N9005ZKEBTU
Build No: JSS15J.N9005XXUDMK2 (N9005XXUDMK2)
I tried updating via Kies and Software update it says the same thing. YOU CURRENTLY HAVE THE LATEST UPDATES FOR YOUR DEVICE
So what is the case here? Will there be an update, or is there another way or is it gonna be ODIN?
Thank you

Some old firmwares are stucked and don't update. You will have to flash the firmware via ODIN. The latest for your device is: HERE. Good luck

Hi,
What model of phone do you have? The LTE SM-N9005? If so (and I hope someone could either second this or correct me if i'm wrong) I believe you could flash via odin (and you do not need to be rooted to do this) the lollipop update that O2 has. 5.0 is available for the UK via the sammobile website, so if the basebands remain the same and the phone is the same model, I believe you could just download the 5.0 update from sammobile and flash it via odin.
Since you would be flashing an official version of sammy's rom, you won't need to be rooted, nor have a custom recovery.
Cheers

so, you are using the sm-n9005, and the firmware u have is the same one as the firmware that the 02 UK version runs in 4.4.2.
Unless I'm mistaken, and if anyone sees I am please correct me, you could flash the 5.0 version with odin for o2 UK. I don't see why it wouldn't work, since it seems you have the same phone and firmware currently in 4.4.2
cheers

Your device is using of UK (with CSC: BTU). It still without Lollipop update. I recommend don't flash via ODIN any firmware and wait for future updates (via OTA) if you aren't rooted.

Hi guz,
I want to downgrade my NOTE 4 from 6.0.1 to 5.1.1. I googled it and did show one of the thread on this forum using ODIN method for that. My problem is to find the correct firmware version for note 4.
My device info is given below
Model Number: SM-N910F
Baseband version: N910FXXU1DPB1
Build Number: MMB29M.N910FXXU1DPE1
Please help me on finding the correct firmware or suggest me on identifying the possible versions.
Thank you.
Go to sammobile and find the last released 5.1.1 firmware for your device.

Use any unbranded firmware mate, UK for example. By unbranded I mean try those which don't come with any carrier labelling, you know like O2 etc.

Yes, unless EE is a carrier name it should be unbranded.
Installing the EE firmware will also install EE's own remote phone locking software in the persdata partition (Which is a real pain to remove as it will keep coming back even if you flash a non EE firmware) as well as EE's bloatware.
Use the BTU firmware for a clean unbranded phone.

Downgrading on galaxy note 4
Hi....I just found your thread and wanted to know did the downgrade work in the end and what impact did it have on the phone. Did it improve? What were the reasons you decided to downgrade?
Thanks
