I noticed after coming from recording something with live music: the nexus ones audio recording quality SUCKS! I say this because my friend recorded the same thing with his palm pre, and its much nicer on the ears. I was reading something about the nexus using the inferior amr codec for the audio portion of the video, and was wondering with the new 720p hacks was this overcome...
I thought that the SGSII could film in stereo given that it has two mics. The video I've shot are all in mono. Any ideas?
it records to mono..but this isn't real problem..
problem is that records fuc..ng 16khz sampling rate!!!!
I hope that some software or coocked rom enabled 44100hz sampling rate recording
If the resulting files are mono, my guess is that if you filmed in HD, the phone should not be limiting the quality in some way. So either the 2nd mic is used for noise filtering in the video in some form, or it's just not used in the same way as the main mic and cannot be used for video recording.

Went to a concert recently and recorded a short video and you can't hear anything since the bass is so high while on a friends iPhone its not that bad.
How to adjust the sound so its not so distorted?
Currently I have a GS3 and I've been thinking about picking up a GS4. I go to a lot of concerts and one of the major issues I have with the GS3 is the terrible audio quality when recording loud music. I know I'm not going to get studio quality sound when recording with a phone, but I'd at least like to be able to make out the song - this is not possible with the GS3 because any time there is loud bass, it distorts so badly that the entire recording is unlistenable. So my question is this: Has anyone here recorded a loud rock concert with the GS4? If so, how was the quality? If anyone has a youtube link to a concert they recorded, I would be very grateful. TIA.
When I make videos of a rock concert (loud environment) sound quality of videos is very poor with CM 11 (Milestone M9).
Big distortion because the gain of the microphone seems to high.
With Stock ROM from Samsung all is correct.
Is there any tweak or tool to handle this issue?
