Hello, everyone.
I recently become a Sony Xperia Z1 C6903 owner. Phone runs on Android 4.2.2. As I am very fond of this program, iGO, I tried to install it on the new phone. Before doing that, I have modified the ".sys" file to match the resolution of the phone. After installation, I encountered (2) issues:
1. Got this error: "Missing or incomplete folder: /data/data/com.navngo.igo.javaclient/license" Using ES File Explorer" I noticed that the path to my SD card is: "/storage/removable/sdcard1/iGO/" . Based on that, I re-modified the ".sys" file, under "Folders" and replaced "sdcard" with "sdcard1". Now, I see problem nr...
2. The ".sys" file is overridden somehow as, if you open it, you see only lines of "yyyyyyyyy".
Anyone has a solution/input on this?
Thank you!
Buy igo and you won't have problems

I'm not sure whether you used a legal version or no. Hopefully you did. I want to believe that you did.
If my assumptions are correct, contact the developer team.

Hi,
I got myself an Xperia Arc a few weeks ago and as many others, I'd rather get a pure Gingerbread experience as on my Nexus S or other CM7 devices.
While Blagus is working on a fullfledge CM7 for Arc, I was wondering if anyone had managed to replace the SMS, Dialer and Calendar apps with Google's native ones.
- i unlocked bootloader and rooted the device
- i tried to copy CalendarGoogle.apk from my Nexus S to the Arc but am unable to execute it.
Anyone ?
Did you try to call it Calendar APK and replace it with the older one and change permission? I have not tried this and probably you know the risk of modifing system files and getting into a bootloop?
i have not tried to rename it.
My problem is that once copied to the Arc /system/app, the CalendarGoogle.apk is said to be invalid and no file explorer can open it or use it.

Could you share files so I can try them out.
Thanks
Have you set the permissions after copying the files?
Read for all, Write for Owner, unchecked for everything else.
Hello everybody,
This is my first post here, so I think I have to introduce myself: my name is Davide and I'm from Italy (land of pizza, pasta, mandolino etc., you know). I have a question that was already answered in the past, as I could see by using the searchbar, but everything I've found here about it was obsolete.
So, a few weeks ago Google updated its application Google Play Music. As in the past, you can download music that is stored on the cloud directly on your device. My question is: where can I find all the music files that Google Play Music downloads and, I guess, puts in cache? On previous versions you could find them in /sdcard/Android/data/com.google.android.music/something, but with this new version every folder inside this path appears to be totally empty. So, is there any new path? Am I missing something (yes, it is evident that I'm missing something, lol)?
Thanks in advance for the replies. I hope not to have made any mistake by posting in this section.
Cheers!
EDIT: obviously, I posted in this section because I own a Nexus 7.

Hey, thanks for replying. I tried even there, as it was another of the suggested paths in some previous posts, but if I access that folder from a file manager on the tablet it appears to be empty as well.
I found something else interesting: if I use TWRP's file manager (so if I boot the custom recovery and use its file manager) I am able to reach that path and find all my music files. However, the root partition "/" appears different from what I see from a "standard" file manager, there are different folders and stuff. Currently, I am trying to copy the music files to the internal SD card (the path is /sdcard/something), it is taking a while but seems to be working. I'll update this once it has finished.
...ooook, it just finished and returned me an error (probably there was no more space on the SD). When I booted it back up and surfed to the path where I had copied all the music files (/sdcard/something), I could see the folder in which I copied them, but it appeared to be totally empty. When I go to /sdcard/something from TWRP I can see the folder and its content, but from a "standard" file manager, even if it runs as root, I can't see a thing. Now I'm trying to do everything from TWRP by copying music files to an external USB stick with my USB OTG cable.
What can it be? Something about permissions or ****?
If someone has any suggestion, well, you're welcome.
Have you tried the Option "Show hidden Files " in die option menu?(try es File Manager or root Explorer)

Yeah, but it doesn't seem to be anything like that. As far as I know, files in UNIX OSs - such as Linux, Android etc. - can be hidden if their name starts with a dot (e.g. ".something"). Those files are not hidden, they just don't appear in folders, and I don't get why. They just are not showed in any file manager.
You cannot view stuff in /data except as root.

Bingo. I thought I was root, I was using ES File Explorer as root but it doesn't seem to be working. So I installed Root Explorer, and I got it working. Thread solved, it may be closed, I guess. Thank you all for the support.
Hi,
I'm using Total Commander and the sftp plugin to download my music directly on the SD Card and then play it with the music player of Total Commander.
Since few days, I can't download anymore on the SD Card. Total Commander give me this error: "Error writing to target file!"
However I can download on the phone and then I've no issue to copy or move the file to the SD Card. It is boring to do the extra step...
This happened after an software update.
I've rooted my s4 and granted root access to Total Commander but I still have the same issue.
After rooting, I've uninstalled and reinstalled Total Commander sftp plugin but I still have the same issue.
I've tried to use Turbo Client that was also able to write on my SD Card before, and now it is throwing me an SftpException error
If I open a txt file from the SD card with gvim, I'm getting an error: "Unable to open swap file" (it tries to create a swap file .swp in the same folder but can't write)
Anybody have the same issue? Any idea why?
As I said, I'm still able to write on the Card from Total Commander but only to copy or move files...
Cheers.
Here is the detail of my phone:
Model number: GT-I9505
Baseband version: I9505XXUFNC4
Kernel: 3.4.0-481100
Build number: KOT49H.I9505XXUFNC4
Hum... after looking a bit more it seems that the issue comes from either KitKat and the version 4.4.2 of Android or just from Samsung and their version.
Can someone clarify this please?
If I install a customed rom, will I be able to use my SD Card properly?
Which rom will you advised? I've never looked at them yet. I've just rooted my phone today hoping it will fix the bug...
Sooo disappointed to have done the update, I'll definitely not let the automatic updates anymore... I don't understand how this can happen...
Now basically I can copy file to my SD but only files. Can't create a folder, can't extract a zip... that sucks!!!
Edit: I can copy a folder from the internal storage to the Sd Card using Samsung "My Files" horrible app.
Better than nothing but still really annoying. If this is a Samsung issue, I'll definitely go for a customed ROM.

I remember using this app on my nexus 10 a few months ago, back when I still owned it. It was also on kitkat 4.4.2 and it had no problems. But now when I try to open it out says it's not compatible with 4.4.2.
Anyone else experience the same problem? Or maybe someone knows of a work around for this issue?
help!

ok guys I have the solution,
the thing is that we will do by ourselves, what the app do.
1. connect the tablet to the pc (must be on "developer options" "USB debugging")
2. go to "internal storage/Android/Data/com.ea.games.r3.row/.depot/eds
3. copy all the files named "Android****" and backup to another folder
4.delete the files on storage/Android/Data/com.ea.games.r3.row/.depot/eds "Android****" than we recently copied and replace all with the copy of the file which we want to in relation to the visual config, each one must have the name of each config
5. enjoy
I left you the link on youtube with the tutorial.

I didnt understand a thing from 4
I meant to say that, we'll leave just one archive on the directory "eds", the one with the config which we decide, but we extract x number of the archive with another config, and this archives must be there too, soo we use one archive with differents names.

cacerts.bks updated 12-6-20
When the original search was on to repair the aging cacerts.bks file in order to get the Kindle app working again, one of the things I came across was a remark from a fellow who had located a Honeycomb ROM (Android 3.2...last stop before the format of the security certificate storage was changed) and copied the cacerts.bks file from it to his Android 2.2 device which was having problems with websites, etc.
I still can't get the method described by @tshoulihane in this thread to work for me. But his edited cacerts.bks file works really well in solving the problem.
Yesterday I managed to locate a CM 7 ROM (Honeycomb). It contains a largish cacerts.bks file (compared to ours) with 127 certificates, 17 of which have expired. These seem to be mostly for central/eastern European and Asian entities, so perhaps not that critical. Well, it's only 10 years old
It has worked for me with the Kindle app and perhaps will help with some of the websites that complain about a secure connection even though I have enabled TLS 1.2 in Opera Mobile. More testing is needed there.
For anyone who wants to try it out, it is attached below. To use, rename your current cacerts.bks file (that's in /system/etc/security) to cacerts.bks.bak or similar. Then move the new file (unzip) into the same place. Check permissions. They should be rw-r-r. Reboot.
This looks great... though when I tried to rename and copy the new cacerts file, I am getting blocked due to the lack of root permissions.
I'm running the 1.2.1 tweaked/modded rom so I thought it wouldn't be an issue. I also tracked down the supersu3.1.3 apk and sideloaded it, but it didn't help either. Wondering if you had any ideas?

So was your SU app missing? Or did your file manager just not have root access?
Hard to know where to start. From my experience, the best-behaving SU for the NST/G is the one that comes with NookManager (attached below). It's old and the binaries are probably out of date, but you don't need anything better for the device.
You can try removing the one you have now, reboot, and install the one below. Then check that your file manager has root acccess. In ES File Explorer, for example, you have to go into settings and tick the selection for root access. It's not automatic. And even with that, you have to tick an additional box to mount /system as rw while you're working in it.
At one time the superuser app was included -- but is no longer linked, and I had overlooked it after initially flashing the rom.
Unfortunately, the su app you provided also doesn't work. When I try to delete the old cacerts.blk it looks like it's doing something, but then the file still remains. If I instead try to rename the file, I get "operation failed".
I tried to delete or rename using an app called "root browser", and also the file manager in "super manager" suite. When I try to enable the root explorer function in ES file manager , I get "sorry, test failed. This feature cannot run on your device."
When I go under Device info, the ROM name does indeed say "Tweaked Modded ROM". I assume this should mean it's rooted but I'll have to dig deeper.
I appreciate your help though!

Mmm.... so the ROM came "rooted"? I've attached a root check app which I've tried on my NST. This should answer the question of root.
If root has been lost somehow, it might be possible to salvage what you have by running NookManager. If you don't want the various additions like Relaunch, you can remove those apps from the data/app folder once you've written the card and then make the other needed changes as described here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nook-touch/development/nst-g-updating-nookmanager-t3873048
Or, you could just use NM as-is and uninstall unwanted material afterwards. The important thing is root and a functioning SU.
Okay... turns out my device was NOT rooted after all; I had assumed the binaries were already installed. Fortunately, I was able to find a superSU 0.93 binary and root through CWM. I replaced cacerts.blk with yours, and now the kindle app works! At first I had difficulty logging in, but turns out Amazon was emailing me a one time password after every attempt. After entering the OTP I am now up and running.
My next issue is getting Pocket working -- I installed Read it Later 1.0.1 but it's not syncing.
Thanks for the link to your other post. I will sideload the apk's you recommended.

Might not be possible. Chatter here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604661&page=2 goes back to 2013.
I found reference to a functioning version in 9/2016. Had hoped it was a cacerts issue but maybe pocket changed their api.

Would this be what's causing my Nook to not load certain https sites?
I can get to gmail fine, but I can't for the life of me load the todoist website
Tried loading your cacerts.bks, doesn't seem like it changed anything
I had no problem getting the Todoist home page. Logging in may be another matter.
Are you using Opera Mobile and did you make the settings change for TLS 1.2?
