Jelly Bean Update Rolling Out Tomorrow

you know I just wanna put something out there... Google said mid-july (not sure if they said only for galaxy nexus or for all devices) but can anyone see the same thing happening with jelly bean as did with ICS? this is gonna be a brutal wait i guarentee....
I'm only saying this to jinx myself and hopefully the OTA comes tmrw.

This is just speculation.

Of course it's coming out tomorrow....just like it came out yesterday, the day before, on friday....because if Vodafone Australia says it's coming out tomorrow, that means it's true
I do hope it's gonna come out soon, but I doubt it's gonna be tomorrow, just because a provider says it is.

Speculation it may be, but Google have confirmed a "mid-July" release, and if Vodafone say it's coming tomorrow we have no reason to disbelieve.

If a provider has set a time and date so close, I don't see why it wouldn't be released tomorrow. Yes, it is possible that the release may be delayed but I can't think why. Manufacturers have had early access to Jelly Bean so it's about time some devices received updates.
EDIT : There have been no other official claims of an official release. Mid-July is all people had to go on. But people started making silly guesses. Many thought it would be released on the 4th or the 13th. But there was little reason for this.

My bad. But I fail to see any threads in the Nexus S General Forum :S There is one regarding a French carrier.

Yes, they said mid-july for all devices.
Difference to ICS: We have an announced release-date (more or less exact). Last time they shipped 4.0.3 as a surprise, pulled it after a few days and then remained silent for 3 months until 4.0.4 came out.
Big difference.

There won't be anymore announcements.. Google already said mid-July.. The last announcement they will probably do will be the day that OTA will start, but they don't need to... And I'm not sure why would Vodafone lie with it to gain more costumers (or buy Nexus S), since you can't buy it from providers already

I dont get why everyone feels the need to open up a new thread about this instead of going to the countdown thread! You guys seriously need to think about your lifes. Get out, do something fun and for god'S sake leave your computer or xda untouched for a day. It's really not healthy to be so obsessed about JB. We are at least as insane as iPhone users. except we are not sleeping in the street waiting for a new phone, we are staying awake waiting for a freaking OTA! At first i did that too but to be honest after a few days it gets way too pathetic for me. I enjoy my life outside the house. Thats how I wait! and i can recommend that!

Guess we all love the Nexus S...I was anxious too when going from GB to ICS. Best is left time roll and get JB when time comes not beeing a priority... But that comes with age though

I'm so envious, my Orange account was hacked with a fraudulent upgrade within minutes of my upgrade month starting, my account is locked down while the "fraud team" investigate and put it right, I can't even get a pac code and leave Orange, this was 2 weeks ago, I'm so impatient, I should have my One now! sucks dude but if it makes you feel any better i called t-mobile to check if they had stock of the phones and aparently they dont but they assure me i will get it within 3-5 days we will see.

spoke to t-mobile today and they assure be it was being dispatched from there warehouse today!!!! so fingers crossed i will let you guys know when it arrives also had any one else ordered from t-mobile uk?

finally, but t-mobile kinda screwed sony over, everyone returned their z1s's waiting for an update... returning mine as soon as i can sell this z1s and get a z1, hope sony drops t-mobile like a bag of dirt, will be lucrative

Yes but the fact that some still have it like my mom still kept hers I figured I would keep them updated, the only reason T-Mobile did not upgrade was the Z1's KitKat was extremely buggy like sound issues etc and they wanted to wait for those problems to be resolved.

if it does come ill check if 120fps and 4k is working, if not, jumping ship lol. but i did get timeshift video working @45fps on our z1s ... and I wonder how long til root after the update LOL

I would assume not too long since they already got the first update figured out.

wife and i both still have one. mostly for the waterproof camera. best feature ever. and in all fainess i passed on my N4 for this phone. so updates are nice, but waterproof. won't buy another phone without it. water park + kids...
Other than the new version posted have there been any other updates? I have seen a couple rants to the CEO on twitter and on the support forum but that is all,

I doubt it, one was from 2 days ago so they wouldn't already certify another.

Awesome news! I love this phone, wouldn't trade it at all. I can't wait for this update, exciting!

can you explain how you got it to work in the z1s i would be thankful if you tell how you did it

I wanted to jump ship to the z ultra, but no flash , well this kitkat is good news i can finally have those damn emojis and see what all the folks on facebook and instagram be using

either my next paycheck or the z1s kitkat update, im giving them 2 weeks lol

It is also possible to update without losing root; just not through OTA.

Az you see that 4.4 is rolling out for z1 so if we are not update by middle of july it is not going to happen.
Tmobile reps are pushing people to not to by z1s not a good sign.
I do hope I'm wrong about the update but I don't think I' am.

Why and where has it been said t mobile is urging customers to return or not buy the z1s?

I have many people I know were adviced to not get z1s.

I did not buy my z1s in the store. However last time I was in the tmobile store about a week ago they were pushing Samsung on everybody. Unless someone came in specifically looking for the Sony they would never point anybody in that direction. Even if someone came in looking at the Sony I could see them easily convincing them to get the S5 over the Sony. They are both water proof (now I know this is not true but to the average consumer who sees them both dunked in some water they are) they both have great cameras. Salesman follow it up with S5 is newer and there is no way Joe consumer is picking the Sony.

I am sure they are getting commission bonuses when selling Samsung phones. Hard not to do that as a sales rep.

I would never buy a galaxy s phone... the way the bezel is designed makes me think of girls and their bubbly letters. My rep was cool though. I went in there, got my dad a G2 for father's day, and told him I wanted to upgrade from Z to Z1s. He didn't question any of my decisions.

5.1 update should be darn close to rollout now!

Asus support has confirmed on the app that the Zenfone 2 5.1 update is under final testing phase.

So, it's reasonable to expect Asus to begin the rollout within a week or two. What do you think?

I think that would be AWESOME!! This has been a great experience so far overall, i'm quite impressed with frquency of the updates from asus. Hopefully this continues forward.

Why? There had been an update every couple weeks it seems. Is 5.1 really that big of any update that it would take so long to implement? Aren't the point releases just bug fixes?

It generally takes every oem six months on average to push a new version of Android. Granted, this phone has been on the market a while, but less than 2 months for the US versions.

I actually grabbed 2 at quick chargers the anker one and some other brand I'm not even sure of but it was cheap. I also grabbed the aukey battery pack but not sure how often I'll need that

I hate to say this, but this post is referring to a blog where the guy speculates and provides a chat screen as proof. That being said, I am optimistic that Asus will update us to 5.1 shortly but posting fake reports does nothing but create false hope. The blog referred to is just that a blog and the proof it provides, is just a guy asking the question and we have no proof that the other side of the conversation is an actual employee of Asus tech support...
I think it will happen pretty soon but if it does not, I am completely fine with my phone the way it is currently, as I am sure most of you are too.

Never ever go by what some chat rep says lol. What makes anyone think they actually have any idea as to when testing is done and when OTA releases can be expected?

Agreed.

Asus provides a year or two of Android updates to its devices. We will get 5.1 eventually and even Android M when that drops. Past that, it's up to the community to develop.

Don't know whether Asus will really release the update or not but this hell made its way to a lot of reputed websites Even if it is not true , Asus would be pressurized to roll-out the update as these reputed websites posted this news

I saw an official statement saying that the z3 will recieve marshmallow within a couple of weeks.
This info is something that I got from the Danish Sony mobile division.
Let's hope they can deliver ?

I hope they are right. It's the last time for the update to be pushed out. Since the beta has been out for quite a while, I guess, we could get the final build very soon. I've been searching for any info connected with z3 marshamallow update release and haven't found anything so far. So I really hope the guy on facebook wrote the truth. :highfive:

Yeah me too... I was running the concept as I was chosen to that but I missed a lot of things from stock and usually the beta shows up and few weeks later the official rom...it was like this on arc and s.
I look forward to this though, to win the game is to provide updates fast and with stability, other stuff can come later imo

Yeah, you must've seen it in xperiablog website. I saw that picture in someones comment. But I don't know if it was legit or not. Let's hope so.

Marshmallow coming soon!
I live in Canada and my service provider "Roger's" has it posted on their update page as "coming soon" for Z3 and another source told me it would be closed to the end of the month. Hope it works as well as the tests on beta have shown.

I live in Canada and my service provider "Roger's" has it posted on their update page as "coming soon" for Z3 and another source told me it would be closed to the end of the month. Hope it works as well as the tests on beta have shown.
